I have not done any major revamps to my home office yet. What has happened at home is that I am out of display space. So now some of my lesser valued stuff is starting to migrate to the office even though I am only there 1/5 days a week (telecommuter). I will probably re-do my home office once the new TWD action figures come out this summer.
That window is to my server room, we just did our office move last month and I manage the IT dept so I get the mega nerd window seat.
Wow, that's a lot of CPU cycles at your finger tips just to play solitaire.

I recently won a twitter, IDW, Transformers contest. Yesterday my prize box arrived and it contained comics, a hard bound book of Transformers art and a drawing of the Decepticon, Runabout by Guido Guidi. You can read about the contest and pictures of everything that came in my prize box here.
Congrats!
Thank you. I am going to take it out this weekend and have it famed.

I cannot tell you how stoked I am to have this book. I can't even believe I won it. I really thought it was going to be years before I owned a Transformers number 1 CGC slabbed book. Mostly because they have been going for crazy prices on ebay.
This is my first book under a 9.8, but it's signed by Stan Lee and Bill Sienkiewicz!!! I think its totally worth it. I am sure I will keep my eyes open for a 9.8 just because I would like to one day own the whole run in 9.8, but I am content with my 9.6 signed number 1.

Came in this afternoon.

It was either $1500 or I had to sit through an entire viewing of Captain Corelli's Mandolin while sober. I opted for the $1500.
New frames are $299 each, so it's about the same. Though I'll need to pay $5 for a replacement key.
I don't suppose that once you get your frames you could see if you could explain to us how they are constructed... a little reverse engineering so us simple people can try and make, or have our own Cage frames made for us?

So these two bad boys came in today. I am very excited to have them added to my collection.
I do have a question about them maybe you all can help me answer. It has to do with their price. As you can see in the last image below it appears that the later issue cost a bit less in Canada and in the UK then the earlier issue. Anyone know why that might be? I am stumped.
So as you can see the foreign price is cheaper on the cover of the later issue. Anyone know why?
Value of the US dollar against the Pound and Canadian dollar went down i guess.
I think you're right. I have been going through all my issues of Transformers and that seems to make sense. Thanks for the education.

Hey! Thanks for noticing and paying attention!
I'm just trying to buy what I can afford which is a few books at a time. Also trying very hard to not to over pay. Its a hard game to play.
I would love to chat it up with anyone who would like to talk about buying strategies. Feel free to PM me. I could use the education.

Is the book loose in the slab ? Can you jiggle the slab and get the book to move ?
It's possible the book has sustained damage inside the slab.
Nope. it's solid. Can't get it to jiggle.
-
I think those flaws are from when the book was made and not damage after the fact so they don't tend to mark the grade down for that type of production related defect.
Thank you.

I am very new to CGC collecting. Today I received this book which I am super excited to share with everyone being the huge Transformers fan that I am.
After really looking over this book I am concerned that maybe the book was miss graded or I just had one pulled over on my from ebay. I really would like to hear what people think and maybe help educate me as a newbie collector.
Now when I look at the corners of this book. In particular the top right but more importantly the bottom right, I am concerned that I might have had one pulled over on me. So I would love everyones opinion please.
