OK, this one seems a bit "scammy" to me. Tell me if you agree.

A PGX AF 15 "Back Cover Only" on ebay.  It already has 10 bidders and the bidding is over $100 with a day left.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no way to know for sure if that's an AF15 back cover.  It could be, but it could also be a Kid Colt 106, or a TTA 35 or 36, or a TOS 33 or 34.  Right?

Has CGC ever slabbed an AF15 back cover?  It would be one thing if the spine partially wrapped around to a piece of the front cover, but this one goes no further than a tiny piece of the black line that many comics have going down the spine

Next thing will be for people to sell the broken off pieces of their marvel chipping!

How its going now, probably 19k. It does everything right based on current online sales.
    1. Blue Label CGC
    2. No Chips

    3. Above standard grade Eye Appeal

    Thanks for the input.

Just curious. This book has never been pressed. For those familiar with the process, does the pen/marker on the back make it less likely to be a good press candidate? Not sure if it could leak through and make more of a mess.

That's always been a glaring point in this series; Negan takes everyone's guns (though everyone seemed to have some in the finale), yet he lets Ezekiel keep a freaking tiger!?! :ohnoez:

My issue was how no one saw the Tiger get that close to Negan and his group without anyone saying... "Oh... Look! A Tiger! Shoot it!"

    Here's a few copies.

I Love it! Let's start changing the thread to discuss AF15's!

Can I get a guesstimate on possible price from G.A.tor or anyone else just for fun?

How much do you think this CGC 4.0 copy would go for in an auction right now? Poor Cream to Off White page quality, but no real marvel chipping. Also has a sweet Stan Lee sig on the splash page and some doodles on the muscle man on the back cover. Thoughts?

  5. I can't believe how little I care about the new books coming out.

My LCS asks me why I am not getting in on the new X-Men books... but I simply have no faith in new products. The writing has been bad.

Get rid of the original time displaced X-Men. I don't need multiples on one character

Bring back the original Wolverine. Old Man Logan makes me feel like an Old Man Comic Book Subscriber.

Bring back Cyclops and stop treating him like a villain. What a load of garbage that is!

Bring back the original Jean Grey as well.

Lots more ideas, but it's not like anyone will read this and changes will happen! lol!

  6. I miss the old boards and the old slabs.... The changes in CGC are taking me time to get used to.

Trying to get back into posting here more often, but it just seems to be lacking... I miss sharing in my collection journey with others on here with the same passion

I certainly believe most all care about eye appeal ...what I ran/run into is buyers want to pay "average" prices (those data that incorporate inferior looking copies ) for "premium" copies.

Ive always differentiated , and hope that folks will start to also

Completely agree! With my money, I know I would spend money on a lower copy without chipping,

  8. Anyone planning on ordering the Darth Sidious variant of Darth Maul #1 this evening? These JTC exclusives used to sell out in minutes. Thankfully now I can jump online and order my one copy without having to worry they will sell out as my session clocks.

I got mine! I like this one! Looks good compared the the R2-D2 one he made for the last Star Wars issue.

  9. Next stop... Bankruptcy.

My goal is to complete from 1 to 300.

    I'm about 50 short including #4 and #94

But your sig line is beautiful.

    Great collecting goal right there

Good for you! It's a great journey and I am only a few books away myself! I need nine books that I have listed in my sig line below and then I need to upgrade a bunch that I got before I was serious about the condition of my collection

  10. We'll, I agree about cycles, but that refers more to the good old days. Back then there were far fewer Outside stimulants that caused mad rushes to dead cold books and titles. There were only cycles related to genre fatigue leading collectors to focus on books that suddenly seemed cheap compared to the ones that had moved up.

Today however outside forces dictate the cycles far more. Keys are huge now, including all the suddenly hot movie and tv tie ins. This is the strongest market mover ever. When this mass histeria can propel Rocket Raccoon mini series etc to sales of 100s of dollars, then plummet, but retain a still elevated price point.

Personally I don't see run collectors ever coming back, too expensive in grade to chase, so a cycle away from keys to common books in the titles run feels very unlikely to me.

i agree. The day of the run builder seems numbered for sure (always exceptions). Likewise, exponential run up in prices for a myriad of reasons, is also not sustainable indefinitely. That's my main point.

So much for getting value out of my X-Men run! Sucks for my kids, but I'm still happy I have almost completed it!
