Its Wednesday.. Nothing exciting to report today?
Or is everyone patiently awaiting the drama behind Batman 40 combo packs next week?
Are the combo packs coming out next week or not? My LCS seemed to think it was not until May.
As long as I get my issue as part of my subscription, I really don't care what week I get it, but would like to know.
-
Anyone have problems finding Chebacca Action Figure cover at their LCS? One got none and second one only got 2 copies.
I got my copies today no problem, but glad I went early and got to pick the nicest. Some were not a pretty!
-
Apparently Iceman will come out of the closet, or be dragged out by Jean Grey in All-New X-Men #40.
I guess time travel makes you like dudes. !
-
-
I buy according to my list, I will not buy just because the book become hot or popular.
This is how I feel and what keeps me focused on my X-Men run and books of interest. Sometimes I deviate, but not often.
-
Of course a kanan appearance would make an impact on his first comic
So now that the Kanan rumours have started can we get the rumors for Darth Vader 3 and Aphra rolling again!

Tis true/ good point turtle
4k a point works for ow or better pq, no mc and better than avg eye appeal
A 4.0 with cr/ow pages and marvel chipping is likely to fetch 10-25% less, as an example
And yes, my formula is for 1.0-5.0
Is this predominately at shows ? I haven't seen the "PQ" on the label affect prices either way in the mid to lower grades at auction or on ebay BIN's. MC yes, but even now that seems to matter less as overall inventory has dwindled.
-J.
Pq, in my experience, is a minor to moderate differential, even among lower grades. Not so much 2.0 and below but definitely in 4.0
A quick perusal of GPA reveals that you are correct with regard to 4.0, though even there the books with "cream to off white pages" on the label are spot on with the 12 month GPA average for all sales. Overall, I would say that it is difficult, if not impossible to know if some or any of the price differences are related to marvel chipping and/or the "PQ" on the label, or just the normal market forces of the book heating up again and the timing of the various copies coming to market.
For Example:
-In a 1.5 a book with "cream to off white pages" on the label has the current GPA high;.
-In a 1.8 a book with "cream to off white pages" on the label has the current GPA high;
-In a 2.0 a book with "cream to off white pages" on the label is 2nd highest, sandwiched in between two books (1st and 3rd highest) with "ow/w" on the label;
-In a 2.5 a book with "cream to off white pages" on the label has the current GPA high;
-In a 3.0 a book with "cream to off white pages" on the label is the 2nd highest, and tied with 4 other books with all manner of "PQ" on the label, up to and including "ow/w";
-In a 3.5 a book with "cream to off white pages" on the label is 2nd highest, sandwiched in between two books (1st and 3rd highest) with "ow" on the label;
-In a 4.5 TWO books with "cream to off white pages" on the label have the current GPS highs.
After that the sales get too sparse and sporadic to do an adequate analysis.
But the trend is clear....there is no trend. Books with "cream to off white pages" on the label in every grade between 1.0 and 4.5 (with the exception of 4.0, though, again, those books are still in line with GPA 12 month averages) are either the current GPA highs (in four of seven of the grades), or 2nd highest (positioned between books with "ow" and "ow/w" on the label in the 1st and 3rd highest sales spots). No "discounts" or "premiums" either way can be observed from this data IMO.
-J.
Score for my AF15 CGC 4.0 with cream to off white pages with a Stan Lee signature inside on the front page and no marvel chipping!
Thanks for looking all this up and sharing!

She is the only living Jean Grey. And this is the end of the X-Men as we know it, so I see these being fairly well received. There are 6 Figure Covers for 600???
Only 3, I think. Everything I've seen solicits covers A, B & C.
Three seems like a weird number to me. Why not the original five? If you're picking a top three X-Men, are the other two Cyclops and Wolverine? No Xavier? Beast? Magneto? Storm? etc...

Captain Marvel and Female Thor join in: http://www.newsarama.com/24110-captain-marvel-and-thor-join-marvel-s-action-figure-variant-line-for-secret-wars.html
And here's one of the action figure variants for Uncanny X-Men 600
Not as pleased with this one as others. Looks good, but I was hoping for a more vintage character design/uniform

*Luke Skywalker
*Darth Vader
*Han Solo
*Princess Leia
*Obi-Wan Kenobi
*Chewbacca
*Boba Fett
Emperor
Yoda
R2-D2
C-3PO

This is the list I'm expecting to see. If they do prequel variants, I'll gladly skip those.

No Grand Moff Tarkin?

wish stuff I sell would get 11 views an hour
Start putting the term combo pack in your title and you will be good!
-
So I would assume #5 and #6 will also have action figure covers since they still have to add C3-PO and R2-D2.
I'm still hoping for a Slave Leia too...
And Yoda.
It only ends when it gets to Jar Jar...

That is awesome!

Really like the approach he took. This would explain the huge amount of books that were taken off the total count yesterday around mid afternoon.
Could be a good sign for those who missed the boat as more could become available in the coming weeks as he may not need all the ones he set aside.

I am trying like hell to move up. I posted a trade in the WTB threads my raw and a Hulk 181 to get a better copy. I might be better off selling each book separately then buying what I want. Trouble is finding a copy that I'm comfortable with. I sure as hell want to be one of those winners for making a great decision.
Sometimes I consider upgrading from my 4.0 but it just seems like so much more I would have to trade/pay to get to the next level I would consider which is a 6.0

I just assumed it was gonna be combo packs!
Star wars combo packs!

This Boba Fett book will go down in history as the book that popped the bubble. Mark my words!
-
One thing that I will say is this.. Many thought that Star Wars million copy print run would cause a crash. Look at us 3 months later. How many star wars related titles are marvel running now? 4-5?
How much discussion was on this board about sw related "heating" books.. SW Ross 1:50, Hot topic, DV#3, now this..
Kudos marvel for figuring this market out
It's only been 3 months.
Good point... Time for a reboot!
-
OMG...... I just got back home and was about to order one of the Fett variant covers and they're all gone. There was 1422 when I left to make an appt earlier.....what a bummer
Hellllloooo profit!
-
Hey, look! 3000 plus pages of moderns heating up!
-
Until Marvel releases their version.
You missed the earlier part of the convo. Marvel is. #4 is Chewbacca. This is the only way to get the BOBA FETT.
481 left in stock.
Selling 5,000 $20.00 books in a little over 1 day, that is phenomenal.

Down to 506.

Under 600
I didnt order any. I think the price is too high. Sorry
But thats just my opinion
Could be the right opinion. My thinking is that these will be valuable in the long run as it will be hard to find and will be an attention grabber at conventions and in shops because not many people will be aware they were available.
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
