  1. I get that too but I try to take it in stride because I figure this guy has been burned before. What is more annoying is when you ask the seller to box something, they say they know what they are doing and they send a piece of artwork in an oversized envelope with the instructions stamped in it, "Do not bend" and are incredulous when they receive an email that the artwork was in fact bent. smh
  2. I love overwrapping my Aunt's Christmas gift each year just for the lulz. But seriously, I have seen this as well and it can be a pain in the tookus. There is a fine line between packing very well and packing to the point where any attempt at removing the packing material runs the risk of destroying the item.
  3. Meanwhile all of the other collectors in other areas must think we are packing nerds. This was for a Toy Sale on FB. I packed it the way I felt it should go out. I get this though a LOT. I think that we, as comic collectors, are a bit more sensitive in ensuring that all items are sent out the way we would want to receive them.
  4. We will welcome you with open arms when that happens. Not that there is a CGC Illuminati or anything like that... I mean... Yeah...
  5. A week ago I had never owned a copy of this book in my life. I bought a raw copy at NYCC... but... for $552... why not pick up a second? @kav
  6. Whaaaaaaaah? Time clock makes the CGC boards look smooth.
  7. Question though.. in this case isn’t the idea for Parker to stand out without being overly obvious? I feel like purple would run the risk of blending in too much with the red and the image of Parker walking away from is not properly contrasted from Spiderman. Also the blue in the suit is the same color as the spiderman costume which may have also been important to the image.
  8. Antonio Banderas jumps aboard https://deadline.com/2021/07/indiana-jones-5-antonio-banderas-1234793862/
  9. https://www.lego.com/en-us/categories/all-sets?icmp=HP-SHB-Standard-VIP_SWB_October_VIP2x_All_Purchases_HP-P-VIP-4IB8274O3A Lego double points from 10/11 - 10/17
  10. This is actually a decent idea... From USA Today Instead of so much gnashing of teeth about which A-list star will be the next Bond, let them all have a go. A series where Elba, Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and anyone else who wants to wield firearms and martini glasses each take a season of playing the character in a different time period (World War II, Cold War, etc.) would be bigger than the “Game of Thrones” prequel, that new “Lord of the Rings” series and Baby Yoda combined.
  11. Picked up two more books just for fun. but right now I’m thinking about how I’ve never operated a train before …
  12. She thinks all of this is just… weird Last time I got her the cats that had the tentacles on the bottom. 😂
  13. My loot so far. Dinosaur is mine… don’t judge Anime cat goes to a certain someone
  14. So I saw this late last night and immediately Facetimed my mom. My uncle who was definitely a defining figure in my young life died at 37 when I was 13. He introduced me to comics and sci fi / Star Trek but also shared my fascination with Lego. I quickly sent her the image through text and asked her, "What would Uncle Larry have done with this?" We both laughed at the same time as we said, he would have built it in two to 'sink' it. At 4ft long though it is a set that I think will occupy a little too much real estate to be put on display. I love it though. It is something you would see in a museum when you see certain places contract out the Lego master builders to construct an introduction piece to welcome guests. Keep sharing this stuff. Even I have already seen it, it's great for the boards to see that Lego is not just for kids but something for adults to sit back, relax and enjoy.
  15. Bought a comic and two pages of art so far. Total spent so far on 'stuff' $190. So far... not bad.
  16. Also NYCC itself had a merch booth on the main floor. They usually do that in the hallway away from the exhibitors. That was very telling. I will be going tomorrow evening after work and then see what's what for dinner. One art dealer already said he was staying home on Saturday and would decide that day if he was coming back for Sunday.
  17. Apparently, yesterday the Javitz was offering to validate vax credentials. @PeteFromPetesBasement sent me a pic and it looks like a green washable band with a bead on it that tightens but does not loosen. The ends look like it should be clipped though so that could be annoying. I will upload a pic of what it looks like once I edit out Pete's face.
