  1. I will say that there are certain books I look for that I consider "true" first appearances. Characters like Aayala Secura and Quinlan Vos got their start in the comics and were later adapted onto the screen. Many of these other characters are cited as first appearances, but they are the character's first appearance in comic book form (like Harley Quinn). Does that make them less of first appearance? Who knows... that's another debate... but you cannot stop but be impressed by the money that trades hands for those types of books.
  2. I personally think that Star Wars Rebels nailed the portrayal of Thrawn... in Rebels, Thrawn was every bit of 'deadly' as I imagined him to be.
  3. speaking of... PM me... I did not get my Din Djarin but my last Walmart Scarlett arrived in the mail. @cost...
  4. I don't think it was originally advertised like that. I am rewatching Season 1 on a binge watch and there ARE times when he suffers a few blaster shots to the armor that cause it to display a brownish black carbon scoring so it's not too far off of a concept. I noticed that the price was $17.68 though on Walmart instead of $17.99 so with that discount... I think it is done... Now I have to be on the lookout and scalp a few toys to justify the scalped price I am going to pay for this toy. The only winner is eBay.
  5. In August I bought another 5 cardboard CGC size boxes for $40 shipped on Amazon. They are still $40 delivered for the lot of 5. Lately I find myself buying bags and boards from Amazon as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M213QU4/
  6. I had picked this up a couple of years ago. Originally I thought I would flip it but I've grown fond of it and decided last year to keep it as part of my collection.
  7. I appreciate it... I just did that and signed up for a notification. As you see, I did not have that option on the link I had.
  8. How do you set that up and receive a notification? I honestly do not have time anymore to go back and forth to stores. In the current situation of my job I have to be in front of a computer during normal work hours even though sometimes I am not doing 'anything'. Then I am stuck in front of it during 'off hours" when I can actually get a lot of other work done. This is the link but I do not see where I can put myself down for a notification. https://www.walmart.com/nco/Star-Wars-Vintage-Collection-Din-Djarin-With-Exclusive-quot-The-Child-quot-Pin/460201669
  9. Yesterday, Walmart cancelled my 3.75" Mando with Child figure exclusive. When I called yesterday... they said not to worry because it would be reinstated as there was an error in the system. They gave me a reference number to call back if the order was not taken reinstated. Apparently they went back on sale this morning at 6am and when I called this evening they said that the first CSR gave me wrong information and that there was nothing they could do. So... $50 shipped on eBay as some people have them in hand. Insane... hopefully it comes down so I can pick up a second one.
  10. I drop every package off myself at the post office and wait for them to scan it. That way the post office is forced to see that the chain of custody included them at the last point before it was either lost or delivered.
  11. However there are other venues to sell a non-cgc book. If the book warrants it, in some cases it might be best to pay and have the book slabbed by CGC. Certain books command more respect in a CGC label. However if we are talking a 9.8 copy of Amazing Spider-man 800 then it's not worth it. For selling non-CGC books try setting up a selling account with Comiclink and Comicconnect, both of whom allow you to list while retaining the books in your possession. There is always eBay... and you can always go to the joke of a website and message board that certain non-cgc companies and sell there. There are a couple of guys that sell books over there that are quite successful. I would also recommend Facebook groups such as Comic Books Buy Sell Trade... And always always always list that you will only accept PayPal goods and services (no friends and family) otherwise guys like me will ridicule you. AF15? I am glad you bought it. Welcome to the club.
  12. Guys.... c'mon... we are talking Lego... if I had to make my Sophie's choice, the comics are put into auction tomorrow... the Lego stays Here was my review from September 4th 1st the build process Some photos of the completed ship One quick and easy modification that involved two pieces that make the set look space worthy. They really should have added two bricks to the escape pod so it would not look so much like an open cannister.
  13. Because when the first appearances of certain Star Wars figures reach four figure levels people are running to the library to check out books they will not return to send to CGC because the fine is cheaper than the value. Is the OP doing that ? I’d hope not but whatever.
  14. First of all, whoever is doing that is kind of annoying... yeah we get it, y'all can't wait to send them down to CGC... Second... I missed it (the end... I already have my copies of ASM 55) Great sale as always... I think I have bought more modern books from you in the last couple of months than I have in the nine years I have been on the boards.
  15. That's the thing. Rally Rd is not losing money. They are losing other people's money.
  16. Report on the place please... I have not been to comic art con since the fall of 2019.
  17. Heads up to anyone that is interested. Hasbro Pulse is taking preorders until 2/15 for a second run on the Back to the Future Transformer, Gigawatt... It is going to be packaged in a retro - 80's style box like the Ghostbuster Transformer Ectotron https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-generations-collaborative-back-to-the-future-mash-up-gigawatt-figure
  18. Yaaaay Received... Seller actually used multiple layers of cardboard that was bigger than the book and secured it to that cardboard... thus... the book survived for a month in transit. I never reached out to the seller before the book arrived. Glad I did not if the book arrived a couple of days after I was thinking of doing it. However upon receiving the book, I did reach out and thank him for packing it the way he did. I was thanked for showing patience as he himself is waiting for things shipped to him over a month ago.
  19. They are not going to skip town. They are going to hold those books perpetually while people trade shares of it back and forth increasing a book's alleged value that will never actually go to market. Eventually it is 'valued' at a price that is higher than what the book is actually trading for. One of the ways that a scheme like this works is by taking one of a kind items or the highest graded item and placing it under their "ownership". Because if there is no comparable sale then there is no dispute over the perceived value of the item. Like I said, if I wanted to monkey around with this, I can think of several ways to do it and happily take your money to build my collection.
  20. only because you are my favorite modern seller... throw it on my stack,
