  1. I am trying to be good this year... But, buying one or two is something I would probably try if it positioned near the counter as I was leaving.
  2. Postal Delays? I guess now is the time to throw anything and hope it sticks to the wall. This Lego set retails for $100 and is a shared exclusive between Target and Lego.com. When I saw it on eBay for $75 I made an offer for $70 and said, "Why not?" After the seller accepted I noticed that it would ship FIRST CLASS. I figured that the seller would figure it out on his end like I have had to when I make a mistake. NOPE... this seller went all in. This guy sent a lego set that itself weighs 3lbs and boxed around 4 via First Class 3oz. He sent it on 12/26 and it just arrived today. Not bad for a 4lb package sent First Class.
  3. I don't have a Meijers anywhere near me. So... as the saying goes, "I've don't have a horse in this race." Think about the lead in time that goes into arranging, bagging, and distributing these comic packs. How long do you think that takes? How long ago do you think they got their supply of comics. Do we not remember that the drek from two years ago with minor first appearances are now sought after $25-50 issues? There are 2017-2018 Marvel Comics that people ignored that are selling right now for $50 a pop if not more. So, I would try my luck... why not? $5 for three comics is not terrible.
  4. As long as I can get my Dare Maple Leaf cookies, I don't care what happens.
  5. Happy New Year to the boards, May 2021 bring you health, happiness, and good fortune. Here on Long Island, it is 10:45 PM... and someone is banging on a drum somewhere within earshot while it is raining... beats the fireworks I guess.
  6. I did not say I hate it. I said you did not fulfill the assignment... then I fired you. Basically I said that Marvel is throwing you the ball. You are designing the next Spider-man costume to be used in the next story arc. Keep in mind that this costume could be used in movies, video games and toys. So... design the next marketable suit. I think you would have an easier idea with Batman to be honest given the idea that Bruce is rich.
  7. I think word has gotten out on how I respond to lowball offers and now people do this to elicit responses... I try to make their day. @kav since he gets joy out of me responding to things like this. For the record... this is priced well at $185 since the item usually goes between $150-$200.
  8. Just dropped packages off at the post office watching someone rant and rave about their Christmas cookies being stuck in the mail holding the postal clerk behind the counter as individually responsible for this heinous action claiming everyone who dropped a package off should be reimbursed. So, I leaned on the table behind this person like that Willy Wonka Meme and just stared at them until they got uncomfortable and left. That was fun. Laughed about it with the postal clerk and wished the postal clerk a Happy New Year. People are jerk face . Seems that the big holdup is at the Maryland hub or that area in general. All of my other packages, even some coming from California have made it to me. Anything that passed through Maryland has entered what I am referring to as Postal Purgatory. Once it enters Maryland it stays in Maryland. Why do I make mention of this? Because packages passing between New York and Florida seem to be getting stuck in Maryland... so think carefully about sending anything to CGC right now.
  9. Honestly... it depends on media. When, "A Night at the Museum" debuted, there was an increase in attendance to the Museum of Natural History where they even host sleepover private parties these days... well, not this year... Media support and tie ins cross pollinate product. A constant deluge of Transformers Cartoons have helped support the toy line since 1984. In fact the years that the line dwindled and was almost permanently cancelled in America was when there was no media support. As an example, I basically got into comic books because I wanted to read about the adventures of my GI Joe toys when I was a kid. Now this scenario is putting aside the digital vs paper hardcopy debate. However, as long as the characters are marketed, and there are cartoons, movies, TV shows and the like, comic characters are not going to die. They will remain in the public consciousness. As long as that happens, there will be an interest in the comic book itself. It may not be the primary attraction of a character, but the kid that is enchanted by the PS5 Miles Morales video game, is going to want a Miles Morales shirt. They may then seek out a trade paperback of collected stories. If they like the character that much and have some disposable income then they will seek out the characters' first appearance. That's how it works. We are no longer in an age where one area of the industry can survive without cross platforming to other avenues. So, in short, so long as the video games and movies and t shirts are being printed of these characters, these characters will be viable and their exploits will be sought out in the comic book form.
  10. You can always resurrect 18 year old ones...
  11. A few years ago I saw a guy dressed up as Ralph Kramden in his, "Man From Mars" costume at NYCC. I recognized it for the genius that this guy had to go in this get up. Amongst dozens of Poison Ivy's, Harley Quinn's and Deadpools... this guy was brilliant. I could only yell out one thing to the embarrassment of those that I am with, <cough> @jaybuck43 <cough> "HEEEEEEEEEY !!!! it's a PINBALL MACHINE!!!!!!"
  12. It's a Pinball Machine !!!!! (which won second place btw)
  13. This was the one cover that made my jaw drop. When I heard about this, I had to get a few and bank them. This is the Amazing Spider-man version of that Batman 880 cover. Simply beautiful. Mine are also in package limbo right now though. Simply beautiful.
  14. I’m saying I will wait and see and I concede it could totally perform like a vacuum... however I will wait and see
  15. I liked the stealth suit from Parker industries and I kind of liked the white Fantastic Four one... it was inverted black suit Spider-Man... I will have to see where this goes before I pass judgement.
  16. Sigh... I would not miss the con itself but I would miss seeing @greggy I say that while on my iPad, in bed and pretending I’m at “night two” of the annual NYE run.
  17. You were never hit by an old woman with a wooden spoon or a chancla were you?
  18. Alexa alerted me at 7PM EST... just as I was going to sit in bed and watch tv. sigh... hot chocolate time.
  19. Who lost that bet, you or the people in the bar?
  20. He's never experienced a NYC style subway bum rush. I have seen it a couple of times. It gets 'funny' when little old ladies decide to take a whack out of nowhere as one guy starts to fall because, hey... free punches.
  21. The books at NYCC are overpriced compared to the big auction sites. That's about the only one I go to. Besides... if they were to cancel cons forever I don't think I would miss them.
