  1. Amazing Spider-man While I understand the argument for Batman, collecting a full run of ASM is still more accessible and somewhat affordable for more collectors than trying to do a Batman run. However, when I see things like ASM 300 in CGC 9.8 (direct copy!) sell for $4900 last night, I believe that ASM is quickly becoming unobtainable. This means that collectors will start becoming turned off at trying to collect the character deep into his flagship title. What to look for? X-Men... I have my issue 1 so I am comfortable saying this. I believe that once mutants appear in the MCU that collectors are going to start looking for runs on this title. The question is do they start collecting with issue 94 or 1? X-Men is far more affordable and obtainable than ASM.
  2. Wasn't me... I promise. However, I would be lying if I said I would not be absolutely delighted to see a repeat of when Red Rock's wife entered the thread and threatened to sue everyone with defamation. That would really provide a ray of sunshine on this rainy day on Long Island.
  3. Traditionally the same rules apply. Technically the WTB area is 'outside' the marketplace. If someone engages in shenanigans after contacting someone through their WTB ad that has fallen under the scope of board rules. Furthermore, I personally know of and have been contacted by people offering to sell me a book through PM after making mention that I was an underbidder in a Comiclink auction for a book or something like that. If I had been screwed over, I would assume the same board rules apply.
  4. After losing out the CBCS 6.0 from Comiclink I decided to bid to win as I have been chasing a copy of this for awhile... The cut is obviously off... but I'm happy with finally owning a copy.
  5. That's someone who cleaned out a house judging by some of the other listings.
  6. That's actually why I asked whether or not there was a printout of the PayPal invoice included with the book. I was thinking along the lines that if the wife had opened it, there is the chance that she might have been upset at $500 going toward a comic book and asked for it to be returned. He might not have wanted to comply so he decided to do what he did.
  7. I am updating the CGC Comic Board Bible / Dictionary... Dylan - (verb) To Dylan, - The listing says 8.0. A buyer ships it. Upon inspection, the buyer says it looks closer to a 2.0. See also: "To Mile High" and now... Shoomanfoo - (verb) To shoomanfoo - Initiate a return and send back an empty slab. See also: "German Newspaper"
  8. So I am guessing he will not be coming back here to call everyone names? Or do we have to wait until 2021 for the shill account to rear its head?
  9. Yo Adrian !!! We did it ! It's not the prettiest cut but this book has eluded me for a decade. This will be stopping at CFP sometime in the next year.
  10. Let us keep in mind that PayPal made @Catwomancomics whole. PayPal will either chalk it up to a loss or go after @Shoomanfoo who currently has the book AND the money. I doubt that PayPal will roll over easy on $500 though. They will probably go after his account.
  11. I might have done things years ago in 2005 - 2010 that I would never do in 2020.
  12. If @Catwomancomics wants to nominate and send me the pictures of labels and all I can do that any time. However, I would give it some time until you see @Shoomanfoo posting again. I doubt @cgcmod8 would let us know specifics, but I would suspect that after his comment regarding people with disabilities, that he was given a little bit of a vacation. Whenever a person is nominated to a HOS or Probation list they must have the ability to respond. So you kind of can't just nominate and vote while someone is on a vacation.
  13. That's why I fight... because I guarantee that this guy got away with something like this before... Rule of three as it were... If you do not fight you are just passing off a problem to the next guy.
  14. Doesn't always hold up because I could easily re-wrap a package with nothing in it and produce a new edit. However, the postal scale didn't lie.
  15. @Catwomancomics I have a question... When you sent the book out, did you include an invoice that said how much had been paid for the comic? like a receipt of some sort?
  16. Yup... which corresponds to the weight of the parcel. That's why I sided with you when I woke up to see the images of those weights.
  17. No, I believe it was locked due to Shoomanfu using a derogatory term for those with disabilities. It might have been locked by a mod that did not have access to remove a post until a mod that did have that capability could come online to trim the post in question. It was probably reopened because it is of interest to the boards.
  18. We are open again for business. However the first part of this double header has already found some winners in @KCOComics, @Gotham Kid and your's truly... Looks like first pitch will be thrown soon. Play ball ! @Buzzetta
  19. This is basically a preview for Comiclink's 2021 auctions as I know I will be bidding on a few of these.
  20. I want @wilbil to see this before this is scrubbed so he can see that with his own eyes. Having shipped and received many comics over the years I know that a double boxed CGC type II slab (with comic) will weigh in at just around 2lbs. Jason shipped back a package weighing 1 lb 2.7 oz. Something is missing in that return package. As soon as I saw your post I wanted to see for myself by grabbing a slab and wrapping it in a single layer of cardboard with no other materials. That slab came in at 1lb 7oz. In order for the comic + slab + package to be lighter, something has to be removed from the equation. We know that cat got the broken slab back. We know it was wrapped. Therefore, we are left with the conclusion that the book itself was never returned. @Shoomanfoo I am going to echo what others have said. I think you stole the $500+ book. Cat should never have asked for pp friends and family, but I do not believe you returned the book. It looks more and more like you orchestrated this to steal a $500+ book. Beige... brilliant in getting that information posted.
  21. This is also very true and a violation of PP TOS.
  22. There is also the smash and grab theory... JD received the comic as promised but decided to pull the old smash and grab. Since he is going to keep the book but needs to send something back, he cracks the slab to initiate a return. Under this theory, before returning the slab he removes the book and keeps it but fulfills his obligation of returning something... if it is light, it is easily explained by not using all the packing material or using a new box both of which are not provable.
  23. You know everything is already out there right ?
