  1. I still want the option to open up all pages of a thread. That was very useful in the FS area. I recently bought my first book off the boards since the turnover.
  2. I should have bought it directly from @greggy's stash and saved us both some money.
  3. I truly thought that once he had countered my $725 offer that it was declined and that when he offered $900 that it was on me to do the deal or not. Once he had offered $900 I started shopping around for another copy of the book. Thankfully I did not find it because I would have been paying for two copies I guess. Still, kind of a weird rule.
  4. Culture can be changed... many gas stations by me were charging more for CC than if you paid by cash. People started staying away from those... now more gas stations are back to “same price for cash or credit.”
  5. Oh no, let me edit my original post. I was under the impression that once a seller counters with a new price that the $725 is a dead deal. So therefore he cannot go back and reconsider after his counter.
  6. When it comes to CLink, I usually do most of my buying through auction. However there was a book on my bucket list that suddenly appeared on the Exchange. The buyer was asking $1300 I offered $650 That was denied. I offered $725. The buyer countered at $900 at 6:PM that day. I noticed the email at work in the middle of the next day. Next thing I know, my $725 offer was accepted even though the seller had made a counteroffer of $900. Is this normal? I thought if the seller counters that they have rejected the offer price. During the interim I picked up something else, somewhere else. I am definitely taking the CLink book but something seems strange about this. EDIT: I was under the impression that once a seller counters with a new price that the $725 is a dead deal. So therefore he cannot go back and reconsider the $725 price after his counter of $900 was made.
  7. Here on Long Island we have started seeing some restaurants charge a 3% increase to the bill if paying by Credit Card. To me, its amateur hour. Charge more for the food. Raise the price of coffee by a quarter. Do not insult your customer base by charging more for using a credit card.
  8. I actually enjoy his rendition of the black costume Spider-man. His style airs a sense of dark creepiness to Spider-man. I am at work but if you can't find any examples, I will post a commission on a blank cover that I have that will show you what I mean.
  9. I just told my friend about this. His response: "Since you have their address, get someone to take pictures of his children on their way to school or loved ones about their day. Send the pictures and tell him to ask them if he should return the book." smh at my friends. I think he is serious. Anyway, nowadays that is menacing and I would not do that.
  10. I think that it depends on the publisher at times.
  11. Caged Comics seems to be mostly selling comics out of New Jersey. Most likely he bought the book and BS'd a BS return because he did not think that there was an upside to the book OR he had a buyer for it that backed out. Go check out what he has sold on eBay. This guy is well versed in CGC and CGC cases. He knows what he was buying.
  12. I am tempted... I am holding out though as I want to see if certain other things are discounted to this degree... Jetfire: Siege of Cybertron - Marked down to $55 from $80 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JLY4YH4?pf_rd_p=183f5289-9dc0-416f-942e-e8f213ef368b&pf_rd_r=GPF590KG20P54AQFYBPS
  13. Actually... this page annoys me. I lost out on it on eBay when it was $300 It popped up in 2013 for about $856 or something and I lost out on that at the last minute as I was the underbidder. It last appeared on Comiclink in 2017 where it went for near $1800 and I lost out on that also. sigh... one day. I am not paying past a certain price point though... I thought $1800 was a bit much.
  14. Spider-man pages from Web of Spider-man 26 - That was the first Spider-man comic I ever bought. Spider-man pages from Amazing Spider-man 292 - That was the first Amazing Spider-man I ever bought. Any page from Whitman Road Runner 97 - First Comic I ever received. Of course there are always some GI Joe, Transformers, and Indiana Jones pages I am looking for.
  15. I will never send a book into Desert Wind or Celestial Comics or whatever they want to call themselves. Let's leave it at that for now.
  16. They were more like Spaceballs Jawas in that they were so feisty. They also reminded me of the little headhunter guys from Moana.
  17. MP-44 costs a few hundred... If I were to spend a few hundred on a Transformer? I think it would be this thing... It is an upscale Optimus Prime made by a third party that fits GI Joe figures. It is slightly too big for GI Joe but still... Child not included. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LEWIN-RESOURCES-Lewin-01-MP10-Oversized-OP-71cm-with-LED-Figure-In-Stock/323660756285
  18. I am pretty sure it is this one from June 1940. I am always looking to dethrone this one though...
  19. I don't think I would want to just send it in... If Matt was at NYCC again I would bring it with me for him to look at in person. Out of all three, this is the one I am most attached to. On top of that I would want to personally make sure that it did not suffer the wear and tear of being thrown around like it would in transit by a third party. It's something to think about though.
  20. Now I know for a fact that the 1.8 was never pressed. I bought it in 1998 and had it in a bag and board and in a top loader until 2011? when I sent it in. This was before I really understood pressing and didn't know who to send it to or who to trust. Would it benefit from a press? Who knows? Are the grading restrictions tighter? There is a big difference in value between a 1.5 and a 2.0. I am not interested in selling this one ever out of the three... This was the one I really saved up for to buy.
  21. I don't think I have ever posted scans of my AF15 3.5. I don't think the book was ever pressed.
