  1. Actually he is still called Prince. That is what they used in the model of Paisley Park that doubles as the urn holding his ashes. https://people.com/music/prince-urn-first-photos/
  2. I’m pretty sure that the buyer was Metropolis on behalf of the prince. The prince didn’t care about shaken comic syndrome. The prince was throwing money around and label chasing. So...
  3. I always forget about Hakes and I know a lot of people that say that. I would never use them to sell items for me unless we are talking about something like a five figure toy, which I do not have.
  4. I was told by a CSR eBay rep supervisor that it is best not to sell big ticket items on eBay and you are better served selling items like that at dedicated auction houses geared toward that item. I am very well aware that there will come a day that I may sell a five figure book. I am also very well aware that I will not be using eBay to handle that transaction. I will be using ComicConnect, CLink, or Heritage.
  5. I love this thread but I definitely agree with you guys. I have to basically fall into a find while I am doing something else to find something these days. I am up right now because I went t get a glass of water but I am going back to bed soon. With the demands of work during the week, the last thing I have time for is floating around Long Island on the weekend hoping to find things. I actually cancelled a Craigslist deal where I am selling some GI Joe figures because the buyer wants to meet up in the evening during the week rather than on a Saturday afternoon. Just can't do it with other demands in life. Either way... carry on y'all... I actually love this thread. I am going back to sleep.
  6. Another reason to use Global Shipping. If something like that happened after it reached Kentucky on time then that falls on the hands of eBay and they will more than likely remove it. A while ago I had made mention of selling a piece of jewelry using mother of pearl that was to go to Australia. The piece was processed and then it was marked undeliverable. eBay took the piece itself and sold it off over the system itself allowing me to keep the buyer's money and refunding the buyer at the same time. When I was calling to see what happened I was told that should the buyer leave negative feedback for not getting the item that it would be removed at my request because I had made sure the item was sent to the Global Shipping hub at the allotted time frame. Follow up to all of that btw. Apparently Australia does not allow the importation of mother of pearl items into their country according to an Australian law. This is why it was marked undeliverable. After this, the buyer bought another piece of jewelry made from mother of pearl. This time I noticed that they were not having it shipped to Australia but a third party mailing service in Seattle. Then the third party mailing service presumably sends the item out at their own risk but probably changes the customs forms to omit what the piece of jewelry is made of. Either way the buyer keeps buying.
  7. The 12 backs seem to have gone for a lot but there were plenty of deals to be found for B and C level characters in the AFA 80 range. I totally miss their auctions though and should probably pay more attention to them.
  8. I would nuke it and copy and paste the listing into a brand new one. I have heard of that before and completely nuking it seems to be the only remedy.
  9. Wound up buying 9 books. I will most likely only be keeping two for the long term though. Paid this morning.
  10. Found it! It’s 14. This is Tad Carter as drawn by Ditko and not Peter Parker. But really nice score...
  11. I put together a raw set from 1-14 a couple of years ago, mid grade stuff nothing crazy. I know of a few Spider-Man collectors that look at it as a natural progression to collect. for one the series leads into AF15 for another reason it features many “prototype” characters even including a guy that looks exactly like Peter Parker
  12. I seriously debated taking this one myself. Awesome book and glad to see it’s in good hands.
  13. No time for love Dr Jones Auctions and building time
  14. @Stu Dolgon @Stu Frothingham @Stu Morrison @Stu Somers @stu62 One of these has got to work...
  15. Personally... if ANYONE should be given a shot at a Star Wars theatrical trilogy it should be Dave Filoni. That's the Kevin Feige of the SW Universe as far as I am concerned and Disney should lock that man down for the next couple of decades.
  16. Start a Giving Tree thread in Comics General or page certain board members that have been hibernating and ask them to deliver a state of the union address on the boards.
  17. Steranko... Romita... I would rather have a page of Wally Wood EC Sci Fi art than Kirby FF
  18. If one of Stu’s shills hits the 3,000,000 mark I will lose my sheets laughing.
  19. Just say something that you truly believe but it comic book blasphemy. EXAMPLE: Kirby is perhaps the most prolific creator in comics history. However I don’t believe his artwork was all that great in comparison to plenty of others in his generation.
