  1. I can think of two different ways this is going to backfire.
  2. The goal should be to make this thread and also to have the book sell over eBay.
  3. Also, Scarlett, Lady Jaye, Stormshadow V2, Tunnel Rat, Roadblock, Spirit and Clutch
  4. I am going to add something about Outback. Be careful. It took me four tries until I got Outback mint and complete. For the first two times, when Outback shipped his the tab on the flashlight broke and it arrived broken and detached from the leg. Back they went. When I asked a seller to take it out of the leg and ship it bubble wrapped separate from the body he told me he broke it. On the fourth attempt I got my Outback. As I have been selling the bulk of my Joes off, Outback commanded a premium and it sold for a ridiculous price because I advertised the detached unbroken flashlight. Be selective on Outback and specific with whoever is shipping him to you. While I believe that the flashlight broke off because it was weak on one of the first two figures I tried to buy, I believe the second one broke off because the seller included Outback with other figures in the bag and I am guessing one of the other figures knocked out the flashlight in transit. So... I would order him separately... good luck though. They really are amazing figures. I want a couple of other things though so sacrifices have to be made.
  5. “When you’re doing these drills, well, aren’t you training the shooter, too?” - Dave Chappelle on School Shooting Drills. There is the off chance that this thread may be revealing too much information publicly and may be hindering recovery let alone prosecution. Just saying.
  6. I will do manufacturer blind boxes for toys and things like the Lego minifigures. I would never do a Facebook, eBay, or CGC Board raffle and I am glad that they were outlawed here. Here is the easy scam to get rid of some suspicion. All you need are two people that are friends that live as far apart as possible. I live in NY so let's say California is where my friend lives. MOST know how this scam operates but here it is for the newbies that really have faith in humankind and think they have a shot. Hold the raffle. Let's use a book worth around $900 - $1100 like ASM 14 in a 3.0. (Can't believe how that book has recently popped - Check GPA) People buy in at $50 a 'ticket'. When 25 slots are full, we hold the raffle bringing the seller, $1250 Now, to show that I am on the level I show 25 "unmarked" priority boxes where one of the books is the ASM 14, another is a book worth around $100, another is a book worth around $50 and the rest are filler books "valued" at $50 at cover price. Prepare yourselves for a LOT of drek. I said they were unmarked but I put a pencil mark where no one can see in the ad. After payments are received, labels are printed and everything is actually going out or blind boxed to raffle participants EXCEPT ASM 14. ASM 14 goes to my friend who participated in the raffle. My friend can either ship the book back to me which is risky OR he can sell the book himself. We split the money however the arrangement was made resulting in my friend and I roughly splitting almost $2000 for a $1000 book. I am figuring $1250 in raffle money, $1000 auction or sale of the book - shipping fees, $100 2nd Place Prize, $50 3rd Place Prize, and cost of shipping. If anyone suspects anything, I can show documentation that all parcels were mailed out and that the winner that came forward does not live near me which diminishes but does not absolve suspicion. Rinse and repeat.
  7. Just saw a thread on reddit where someone also claims it was a promo piece for the upcoming series. I would have to go digging through ASM books 1995-1996 to see if it turns up. That was the Onslaught thing back then right?
  8. I have always been under the impression that the piece was published as promo art for the upcoming (at the time) Heroes Reborn relaunch back in 1996. @RockMyAmadeus is usually the guy that knows things like that for sure though. Hopefully he responds here.
  9. I don't blame Liefeld for this. I blame the Bob Harras who was editor in chief for letting this one slip by. I looked it up and Harras was EIC of Marvel from 96-97 and (according to the great Wikipedia) specifically "oversaw titles such as Captain America, Daredevil, Ka-Zar and Deadpool." There were many rejected pages, promos, and covers that were rejected by the art department over the years at Marvel. Some still exist on the market as 'unused cover' or 'alternate cover'. This could have been an easy reject but Harras or whoever was under him thought that this was the way to go.
  10. After seeing the Rick and Morty book, for a brief hot second I thought that there was a Pickle Rick variant to Avengers 684 that I was unaware of.
  11. I said what I had to on page two. when I have some real time I will respond to some of the replies.
  12. Not going to lie. There is something 'giggle worthy' when I see someone resurrect an old thread for legitimate or sincere reasons, only to watch other people devolve into fighting over a topic that is ten years old, eventually getting the thread locked.
  13. I got a bigger laugh out of the white wraparound paper to protect the magazine. Mad (not) Pornography - I received my copy as well.
  14. I have a custom Lego Stan... you would be surprised how well he fits into things. You could always buy Stan and place him in the middle of a cabinet with both arms raised in the air as to say, "Look at what I've done.". Put Stan beneath a battle scene and have him posed in a pensive position with a hand under his chin and looking up at the battle as if he is thinking it all up. Stick him on the back of Spider-man as the "Amazing One" swings around your cabinet with Stan on his back like a Marvel version of Yoda. BTW... there is this custom Lego Stan that has recently hit the market... I might need this.
  15. Marvel Legends Stan Lee is up for preorder for $24.99 on Target... Direct Link Target has opened up pre-orders for the all-new Marvel Legends Stan Lee 6″ Scale Figure. The figure includes Captain America’s shield with Stan’s autograph on it, and a Chess Board. It’s priced at $24.99 and will arrive in June. Pre-order at the link below, and see photos after the jump.
  16. Precedent has been set. Since you would be reposting it then whatever is done to you had best be done to them.
  17. I look forward to this in a way that I cannot describe.
  18. Latest issue of Mad Magazine arrived.
  19. I saw the Hasbro affiliate at NYCC (Some third party vendor ?) that was given two Unicrons to display. They had one in planet mode and the other in robot mode. As I took some pics, I was approached as to whether or not I was backing it. I shrugged and said I appreciated it but, "No." I went through my spiel and in about three sentences said why I did not see a toy at that price as it was a not a licensed property. She understood that. A rising tide raises all ships. It seems like it was only a few years ago that deluxe figs at the current $19.99 price point were $14.99 and a few years before that were $9.99. If they can get away with that for Unicron then it will not be shocking when a deluxe is up to $24.99 within the next two years. With that said, Cliffjumper and Wheeljack will be mine next year as they are still at a $19.99 price point.
