  1. Can someone get a 'real' name on Rob Jalali? Is it possible that his real name is Boby Jalali, age 32, out of Irvine California? The only Robert Jalali in California that I can seem to find are in their 60s. However there is a Boby Jalali, age 32, with three prior convictions.
  2. Some of you are clouding my IG feed thanks to the IG/ FB algorithms.
  3. Did you call PayPal? PayPal has been known to reverse eBay decisions before. Then eBay is responsible for making everyone whole. Just saying... Just because one entity says, 'no', does not mean the other entity won't say 'yes.'
  4. Here is a fun idea. I am swamped with paperwork so I am going to take a nap and then get up in a few hours and knock this thing out. In the meantime I would like to know the viability of something. What I was thinking of doing was tracking the CGC numbers of all of the books that have sold and trying to see if the numbers match up to batches of books submitted by the same individual. I would also like to see the history of the book. Basic lookup would be: Certification Number - Name and Issue - Grade Would all of this be useful for any reason? I wonder where the books are coming from, straight submissions or consignments for charity or are these being flipped?
  5. You are right! I just looked through Construx and Knex pics and don't recognize it from those either. Now I want to know...
  6. It’s too late for that. As you commanded, many of us already banged our significant others, mowed the lawn, and spanked a whole bunch of bratty kids. Now what are we supposed to do?
  7. The last recorded sale was on September 20th. No other sales have occurred or no books have been made to be available since then. Not assuming you do not know but in case anyone does not, there are two ways to shut down your eBay store. In one scenario, you are marked as 'seller is currently away and there may be a delay in processing your order" while your inventory is still available to view and purchase. In another scenario you are marked as 'seller is currently away...' but your inventory is NOT made available to view or purchase. Berkbridge has elected to shut down their store without displaying their inventory. I have another question that I am investigating on my own to which I do not want to publicly say. Why tip off the unscrupulous, whoever that may be?
  8. A - "Might" be the canopy piece from the Starcom Load Lifter C - GI Joe vehicle "seatbelt" clip. It clips to the figure and then slots into a vehicle. G - GoBots Baron Von Joy http://www.transformerland.com/wiki/toy-info/gobots-tonka-gobots-super-baron-von-joy-025-/200080/ J - Clone Trooper Blaster Rifle (Pretty sure but not definitely sure) E - Rock Viper Pistol GI Joe M - Star Wars Clone Trooper Heavy Blaster Rifle (modern) P - Boba Fett Prototype Armor Pistol (modern) R - Star Wars Clone Trooper Blaster (modern) edit: @srezvan - Found G and I think J is another Clone Trooper gun.
  9. New York boardies will most likely get this. Internet points to those that get this away from the tru state area.
  10. They usually have at least two spots set up. I would not call what they have a booth but more of an area with MANY tables. There is one that you cannot miss at all due to size of it. That is a rather large section where you can approach on multiple sides. This is in the middle of all of the other comic book areas. There is also another one to the side of artist alley to submit things for yellow labels.
  11. It never got too far in the thought process. After watching all too often what cgc deals with we realized it wasn’t worth the aggravation.
  12. Some of the most amusing threads are in the more obscure areas of the boards. The old test threads were a fun breeding ground for nonsense.
  13. Curious as to why that would not work. Is it an ethics thing? At one point another board member and myself were considering answering the call from a few years ago when CGC was looking for witnesses. We figured we could always get the CGC certification as that could be useful for certain shows and events where CGC did not have a presence. Now going to a midtown thing is no big deal. I rarely if ever go, but it's not out of the way. If I had gone through with becoming a CGC witness, what would have been the issue for me to drag a friend with me to actually 'ask' for the signature at a place like Midtown and myself serving as the witness, at your request and in your absence? To me it's kind of like what the facilitators do with private signings.
  14. BTW On the toy front, we have only seen one 6" figure and that is the title character. We have also seen one scheduled Lego set including the character. This is a Disney+ flagship program as far as I am concerned. Where are the toys? if it okay, I can post what was currently released but I know some hate spoilers. Both items scheduled for release has already been seen in the trailer. Most everything from Rise of the Skywalker has been leaked so I am not seeing anything else of the Mandalorian.
  15. I agree that this is the safe choice. It eliminates some (not all) of the comparison to Boba Fett and how Boba Fett would or would not be be doing this or that since it is a semi blank canvas.
  16. I did tell him that once. But he was so busy fighting everyone he overlooked it. Better to simply ignore. I tried to find it, but the thread seemed to be MIA most likely scrubbed due to the constant nonsensical arguing going on.
  17. Two favorite pieces of my comic collection came from brand new sellers with single digit or no feedback on eBay. Sometimes it is worth rolling the dice.
  18. This just fills my head with all sorts of bad ideas for things to pass the time on the LIRR.
  19. I spoke about it with someone. eBay GSP actually worked out for me in this case. I can offer other mother of pearl items internationally as there is no filter preventing me from doing so whether it be with the GSP or merely shipping something internationally. Had I not used the GSP and sent it out, then I would have run the risk of it getting caught up in customs. If that had happen the item would have been confiscated and I would have been out the piece and the money. My only real disappointment is that the buyer must feel as if they got screwed out of something at a great price that I was honoring. This weekend I will reach out to her and offer her 10% off anything and everything and offer to end listings and put it in a lot so if she wants she can buy a bunch of things all at once instead of individual shipping fees and duties.
  20. Interesting that you say this as now I have even more questions. Here is the email that I received from eBay. My concerns: 1 - I undersold this specific piece. I made a mistake when I lowered the price on this item one day and threw in a typo. I meant to sell it for more than the $95 it sold for. The piece was probably worth about $150. As soon as I made the mistake someone snatched it up. I cursed but honored the sale. My $50 mistake should not be someone's loss. Part of me wonders if this was really about keeping a pretty neat piece. My buyer is very disappointed. She thought she was getting a great deal and now probably feels as if she was screwed over. 2 - If I did NOT use the GSP I presume that I would have made the sale anyway. I presume that the piece would not have cleared customs and that I would have been on the hook. The way I see it is that GSP makes everyone whole. Buyer was refunded and I kept the money. I am curious to see what happens though. 3 - I have to be honest, I want to see what happens to the piece and am curious to see if they use eBay to liquidate it and get some money back. If not I want to know where they do that. I would like to see what does not clear customs. 4 - Apparently this customs law is loosely enforced. I checked and I have sold another Mother of Pearl piece to someone. A cuff / bracelet with Mother of Pearl went to Hong Kong. Supposedly it is an international law that the US participates in so that means no Mother of Pearl merchandise is supposed to be sent out of the US. Someone was asleep behind the wheel for that one. EDIT ! I went looking and I found it. I just saw that eBay sold it for $25 more than I sold it for. WOW !!!!! They even used my pictures as dugman said that they did with him. Just wow ! I told you I accidentally underpriced it.
  21. What does the sign say? I've made mention of it before that I bought my grandmother's house after she passed. It is disturbing how people took advantage of certain things. People used to ignore the signs and it was very hard to get in and out of the driveway to get to her if she needed something or if we needed to pick her up to bring her to a doctor. So when the option came to remove the sign, instead I opted to have everything updated and refreshed to make it clear not to park there. I get along very well with my immediate neighbors as they have helped me and I help them. I have no problem shoveling or now snow-blowing their property as one of them should not be doing that. For example, there was a couple that lives down the block and they used to walk the dog allowing it to poop on my grandmother's lawn or the sidewalk in front of her house. When my grandmother was mobile she would plead with the woman not to do it but she would do it anyway. I was also asked not to interfere. Once I took possession that was stopped after the first incident. Now that woman and her husband no longer walk their dog anywhere near the house. You should see what happened with the backyard neighbor. This was the first summer I no longer have their teenage kids or college students hopping the fence and running through my yard after drunken pool parties. "Someone" broke part of the extension of my detached garage and the hedge line when trying to hop the fence. I was up at 2am doing paperwork and ran out of the house to go after them but they ran off. I lost it after a caught the homeowner being stoooopid doing something else. That involved a couple of fun conversations and threats with a shovel until they got it through their thick skulls to learn their place. They have been quiet ever since. I have absolutely no problem with confrontation if the situation calls for it and all other avenues have been exhausted.
  22. I live in the village not the town. I had the option, as a perk of paying stooooopid high taxes, to have a sign put in so people do not park there. I was tired of all the people parking and walking to the center of the village / town where all the fun is. They would park right up to the lip of my driveway making it difficult to get in and out. A few weeks ago I am in the front working on something in the yard. I car pulls up asking me if he can park there. "I dunno, what does the sign say?" He tells me he knows what the sign says but that he wants to know if it is okay for him to park there. This exchange went back and forth until he got tired of it, raising his voice and screaming and yelling, and eventually left.
  23. I appreciate this. Otherwise I would miss the interesting threads. Lately it seems like all I do is paperwork all day, so I appreciate the notifications.
  24. Yeah, I don't get that when there is a "Make an offer" option in the listing. I get messages sometimes though on straight BINs asking if I would take a lower price. Then the ability to offer a different price is given to the seller when they respond. Maybe he means that?
