  1. I'm too busy trying to secure funding to build a dolphin nursery tank in my backyard. Latest Update: I already have the squirrels
  2. Who doesn't? Sand always gets in places that no one wants.
  3. I cannot see the pictures as it seems the place is now in contract or has been sold.
  4. I would actually like to know that Lucas directed at least one scene in the movie just to have some type of bookend to it all.
  5. Filoni has shown himself to be an excellent showrunner. Even if he is only supervising the series and is not involved in the day to day operations I believe his name attached to the series lends itself to at least giving it a chance. I would like to see what he would do with his own live action trilogy.
  6. This was an impossible to find item while the gf and I were in Disney. She really wanted this and it was never released in the stores. It was supposedly a limited edition plush that was jointed. Leave it to the Chinese vendors to 'ahem' take some off the production line for themselves to sell. She will be pleasantly surprised. American prices were reaching $150 before the Chinese vendors started running more out of the factory. It retailed for $34.99 in the stores. Picked it up on eBay for $45 shipped.
  7. OMG... I wonder if anyone would ever seriously do a cosplay and how it would be received.
  8. Mmmm... Reading Terminal Market DiNic's - gotta go to DiNic's for the slow cooked pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and provolone... you will not be disappointed. Whenever I go to Philly I stop by for one of those... there is nothing like it anywhere else.
  9. I think the most noticeable frosting I have seen over the years are on figures like Kenner Vintage Vader where the frosting is in sharp contrast against the black of the figure. Plastic in it's natural state is supposedly a whitish opaque color... or tan. I wonder if certain dyes help to prevent degradation of plastic versus others or if we just do not take notice of some of these changes due to certain dyes masking the contrast of the degradation.
  10. Oh, I don't think it is a dispute at all. It is an interesting point but I feel an extreme example. I feel that books like Tec 33 have a more limited circle of potential buyers than a book like the aforementioned Action 83 (I cannot really think of another example at 5am). This is due to the price that Tec 33 commands. Therefore, those people will always determine why the book is special and will command the premium it does. If anyone out there ever wanted a Tec 33 at this point and had the means to do so, then I believe that they would have gotten it already. I don't think the sudden declaration of a Thomas and Martha Wayne as pivotal or desireable characters shift the needle in any significant way. However, I think you really have something there, and in growing proportion with the lower the value of a book. After all, originally NM98 was a desirable book not because of the first Deadpool but because of Liefeld and the whole leading into X-Force thing. That is a book where the first appearance outshone the storyline and the art as the years went on. So I believe that it has to do with the pricing that a book already has. Ha... Don't know why this just popped into my head because it is a poor example in comparison. However, one day Strange Tales 97 might explode if Marvel in its infinite wisdom ever decides to have Aunt May reveal to Peter that he has an older cousin from Ben's side of the family who they also took in at one point. That cousin, Linda Brown was a mutant mermaid and should be found. That would make the Aunt May and Uncle Ben in ST97 the same May and Ben of Spider-man fame.
  11. ... especially if a user publicly admits that they are trying to conduct business through PM. Thanks for even considering it though. I realize that this is a case by case basis.
  12. I went to one of his listings and cut and pasted his ID and it won't add it to the list. eBay says, "Invalid ID" I retyped it letter for letter from his listing and I received the same. Is there anyone else having trouble? https://www.ebay.com/usr/guerrilla_shopper
  13. Your word is good enough for me. I will block him as well.
  14. I think that the book has already gathered a storm of interest because of the story it tells, the classic cover, as well as being a pre-Robin Tec. There is already heavy desire for that book With the first appearances of the Waynes and Joe Chill featured in the book that is just an added bonus. Now if we are talking about a book like Action 83 which features the first appearance of Hocus and Pocus then we have a different outcome. The book is desirable because it is a WWII early Action book and maintains a desirability factor of moderate to low range. It is definitely a book that will climb in value if it is revealed that Hocus and Pocus are the most powerful beings in the DC Cinematic Universe, which given the state of the DCU is a legitimate possibility.
  15. Also... at @comicwiz and others, the NYT had an interesting article about the breakdown of plastics in historical artifacts and attempts to preserve them. I thought some of you would find it interesting. If anyone that wants to read it, cannot view the NYT, I cut and pasted the article in the spoiler. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/28/science/plastics-preservation-getty.html
  16. Umm... debating about buying this because I don't really use pencils... This pencil sharpener looks like cobra Commander. If I ever did buy it I would affix a cobra sigil on the top of it.
  17. Blind Adam is also a member (or used to be) of these boards. He introduced himself to us as Adam the Comic Pimp so I am not really outing him. Don't know if anyone remembers that from a few years ago. He's done some interesting things. I remember him from the Howard Stern show.
  18. I was born in sometime in the mid to late 70's. My generation also looked at Reeve... Not arguing with you as if my idea is great and yours sucks. I am just saying that I was an 80's kid exposed to Reeve as Superman yet I still think Cavill is a better Superman.
  19. What Kav is saying is false. In MANY cases you can deny returns. And if you articulate yourself well then eBay WILL side for you. With that said, the last item I have taken back was a book the buyer was displeased at because of Newton Rings. I shrugged and the buyer paid the shipping to return it and I listed it for 10% higher as the value increased and sold it to someone else who was beyond happy with it. The book was an X-O Manowar 1 CGC 9.8. Post Office does cause damage though sometimes. Buyer sent me pics of a crushed box like it was repeatedly closed in a door or something. Took the book back and filed the claim with the post office. The damage looked similar to the damage in the picture but a little worse.
  20. If we are talking absolutely complete runs (not something like Batman 201-500) I am only counting runs that amount to 100 or more issues so while I have or at one point HAD complete runs of Valiant titles, I am not going into that. The Amazing Spider-man Run Amazing Adventures 1-6 Amazing Adult Fantasy 7-14 Amazing Fantasy 15 Amazing Spider-man 1 - Current (803?) + Annuals GI Joe (Marvel) - Since sold. GI Joe 1-155 + Annuals GI Joe Special Missions 1-28 GI Joe Order of Battle 1-4 GI Joe Complete Runs of anything published under the Eternal Warrior banner both under the original and new Valiant moniker as well as Acclaim. (Adds up to over 100 issues) Web of Spider-man - Complete Set + Annuals - Since Sold
  21. Yeah, I kind of liked Cavill's portrayal of Superman better than Reeve. Maybe it is the costume... dunno exactly... Even imagining Reeve in the current costume and I still give Cavill the nod.
