  1. Hm... Can someone explain this to me? I am always looking at GI Joe art whether classic Marvel or new... I am not interested in this piece but came across a small thing here. Comic link is auctioning off the same piece that a seller the appears reputable also has on eBay. I am waiting for the eBay seller's response. http://comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fbids.asp&id=1249858 https://www.ebay.com/itm/192515461636?ViewItem=&item=192515461636
  2. I definitely appreciate that comment. Originally, my friend thought about posting his own note here but we both agreed that having me post it would lend some authenticity and some sincerity to the post. He is not using this thread as a for sale thread. When the book finally comes to market, after he decides whether or not to press it, I have told him that I believe it is best to list it on ComicLink and ComicConnect so that he can review any offers and then after that, the auction house can act as a facilitator to verify that the book was received and then shipped to the buyer. He is new to selling bigger books and is starting to bring a large portion of his collection to market in order to go after something (in his words) "big". The books was not scanned in the holder (yet) because I now live midway through Long Island and he lives in the New York City area. To scan the book properly he has to drive out here after work then drive home. He drove out here already when we scanned the book in its raw state and sent images to Jaydog and a few others. He also came to package up a bunch of silver books that he sent out to be pressed. When I posted this thread, the package had arrived at Kennedy and was to be sent to his place. I used the scans and asked him to screen shot the CGC grade in order to speed things along and to get the ball rolling without him wasting a trip.
  3. Before we begin... this is NOT a for sale thread. So don't bother. This is a, "How best to squeeze as much out of this book as possible so my friend can put this toward a Batman 1 or something like that" thread. Okay... so... a good friend of mine recently came to me with his Dell'Otto variant as he wants to chase after a bigger book. After some discussion, he decided that he wants to go after something big. So we scanned it, packaged it and sent it off to CGC. The book is in transit and is coming back a 9.2. The book was not pressed. After what was indicated by the grader's notes, we are wondering if a press is even worth it due to the demand and scarcity of the book. He is making the final decision as to what to do. I am simply tagging along for this ride. I have no pony in this race. So... press it or not. Attached are images of the book in raw form as well as a screen shot of the grader's notes. As stated... eventually this book is to be used for a cash grab. So feel free to throw in your comments. Grader's notes: light crease right tip of front cover very light crease right center of front cover very light spine stress lines breaks color Feel free to thread carp away. @Jaydogrules
  4. I've done something like this before and I do not know if the board member who bought the book wants to be publicly named since he does not post often if at all. The seller though? I don't think he will care. @jsilverjanet was selling a Hulk 181 about a year ago and I knew my friend was in the market for one. He looked at it on my account and decided it was the book for him. I contacted Hector and told him that I would back up the sale as my friend formed the account on the boards to take the book. Hector took the book down as sold. My friend bought the book and he was happy. (I did not ask for nor want a penny for this). If my friend did not follow through and buy the book... I, Andrew, am buying another Hulk 181. I attached my name to it. Therefore my word needs to be good and not conditional. A committed sale is a committed sale and if you attach your name to the sale then you are part of it and should back it up. Came back a 4.5 btw... he is beyond happy.
  5. - Couple of people shouted "Wakanda Forever" when that happened.
  6. Thought it was very good... but not as good as Black Panther.
  7. I remember picking up two copies of 1st Smurfs about three years ago. I am glad I did as the current prices seem to have exploded.
  8. Global shipping program... ever since I switched to utilizing the GSP I wish I had done it sooner. The alternative was blocking international sales all together.
  9. I think your best bet is shopping on Amazon (especially if you are a prime member) and taking a look at whatever figures you want that are currently enjoying deep discounts. There is currently a Spider-man v Vulture two pack for $20 that seems to be a steal at the 6" size - especially when they usually retail for $20 a figure. Infinity War Iron man is already discounted to $17 They also have a lot of figures that are not currently being ordered by the stores at retail cost for $20.
  10. I think that Marvel Legends offers the most bang for your buck https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Legends we also have a thread where others might jump in and discuss.
  11. Adrian.... Adriiiaaaaaaaaan!!!! Yo Adrian, "We did it." @jaybuck43
  12. The ASM 1 is pretty convincing... That signature looks like it was cracked out of a yellow label book any day of the week.
  13. To be fair the ASM1 and a couple of others are actually pretty well done in comparison to Stan sigs that have been obtained since the publication of the book.
  14. I have books that are listed on eBay listed on ComicLink and sometimes Craigslist. Suppose just in a weird universe that at the exact same moment someone buys all of them at once. eBay wins. Now... if these boards allowed you to list multiple places then I would probably list here again but I would prioritize this place and simply tell the eBay buyer that I am out of stock and the book sold offline on the other site before I could take it down on eBay.
  15. Sold for $30 + shipping and they are going to California. The buyer is different from the person that asked me to show myself wearing them. Just realized that for anyone that looks at my other listings, that yes a lot of my stuff is priced high. Some sell. Some don't. Eventually though... they sell. It's not a job... it's a way to clear out stuff for those who want things more than I do. @Get Marwood & I
  16. Had a book come back as trimmed once. Heritage made it right.
  17. @Get Marwood & I I will continue to keep you posted.
  18. A lot of people still require signatures. I had to sign for one of the books I received last month for $250. EDIT: Come to think of it, I just required a buyer to sign for a book he paid $440.
