  1. Not true. If you want you can call eBay directly and give them permission to review private messages. They will read you a -script asking if you understand that a member of the eBay customer service team is going to review messages yadda yadda yadda... then they look and see. I had some crazy taken care of that way last year. Interestingly he must have had a habit of it because he was later NARU'd. This meant that he must have had a prior history of problems and I was the straw that broke the camel's back.
  2. True... but then why would I create competition for books that I may feel that are undervalued that I am currently chasing? I second the 1st Wolverine and the X-Men as I already have a few copies between the two books and I am not currently seeking those out right now. However, there are others out there that you might want to do some research on. Expect help and insight but do not expect everyone to flat out provide inside information to you. I do not mean that in a condescending tone (unfortunately the written word comes across that way and for that I apologize in advance) but it is the truth. Many of us are silently chasing books that are not on everyone's radar and are not going to openly create competition for that book until we have secured a copy.
  3. Yeah... that's pretty annoying. The only times I ever say, I understand why they did that is if it has something to do with the book itself... like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-TEAM-UP-141-CGC-9-6-NM-WP-1ST-BLACK-COSTUME-TIES-WITH-ASM-252-/182882334679 Marvel Team Up 141... person makes mention of ASM 252... but to me that is perfectly fine because even CGC makes that notation on the book and they are related as such. On top of that. For someone that does not know about MTU141 that is a nice way to find out while you are looking for 252.
  4. Yeah, I agree with you on this. I would also call CGC as much as possible. When I had a problem with Fed Ex, I called ComicLink and they put pressure on the situation as well. Paradise Comics, if it demonstrates a pattern of inexplicable handling of customer orders, could lose it's status as a submitter with CGC. Paradise is actually doing the CGC business model harm through its actions because present and future customers are left wondering if the shortcomings extend from issues with Paradise OR CGC.
  5. As previously mentioned, I think X-Men 1 is still a severely underrated book in that you have 1st Magneto, Jean Grey / Marvel Girl, Professor X, Cyclops, Beast, Angel, and, Iceman... Hulk 181 is never a bad pick. Say, "Thank you to Hugh Jackman." There are others out there... but you need to figure some things out there for yourself. I
  6. 1) Thanks - had the trout 2) Great 3) Stop basing what I say on what others have said to you. You sound like a wounded puppy... or a middle schooler. 4) I have never posted in the JL thread... because I have never seen the movie. I have not bashed the movie and in fact stated that I will eventually see it. Read what I wrote... not relay what others have said or done to you. BvS was still absolutely horrible after having seen it four times between the two incarnations... like it hurt my brain the same way Transformers V hurt my brain. 5) Who is this person? Me? No... so why are you bringing up another person's actions as my own? What are you even talking about? Take that problem up with them. 6) Not quite. Don't be sorry though. Bonus: Never made mention of the TV shows. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I do not watch much TV though so I do not believe I have ever commented on the TV shows. I do not even have a cable package... I bought an Apple TV and stream a few shows using a relative's account because I rarely turn on the TV. Never mentioned a pattern of your so called labeled DC Hate behavior. You are actually a scary person. Scarier that you even have a name for it. You are really out there... And seriously... the people who actually do bash DC films... why does that upset you? Why does that get such a reaction out of you. You are becoming unhinged. . Here is the part where you get to say what you want. I will not be addressing or responding to you further... This is not a FDQ exit. I am still going to be here. Not taking my ball and going home. I think at this point, for now, I am done with you and your toxicity and looniness. There is something wrong with you.
  7. I didn't know that they posted it. I will edit it out them... I guess we cannot make mention of the Eastern Color Pedigree?
  8. Bombard them with tweets instead of voicing your opinion here. They do not come here. They do see their twitter account. (Or their assistants do).
  9. Found it right on google... Edited the pic out - did not know the mods had already yanked it when previously posted by another member.
  10. Do you ever take a step back and realize that some of the rhetoric that you use sometimes comes off as if you are unhinged or an EDP? I read the Whedon story last night and stopped by the thread this morning to catch up on Star Wars stuff and saw that people were saying about it. When I read the comments I chimed in on the issue of adultery. I've always said I liked Man of Steel so no, I have never been on the "DC Sux bandwagon" as you call it. Read what I wrote above. The DC Universe is a hot mess. By the phrase "Hot Mess", I talk about disruptive changes of direction, various obstacles, underperforming movies, lack of cohesion as far as who is playing what in what movie, what movies are part of the shared universe and what is not, conflicting quotes from various executive sources and what not. That is a hot mess. My comment that Disney will own Batman and Superman in ten years is reflective upon Disney basically buying everything else up in the past ten years. Would it make you feel better if I wrote, it doesn't matter since Amazon will own Superman or Batman ? Google? Wasn't called out on anything since you got my intent wrong. Seriously... Grow up will you? You get too involved in this stuff. I don't see anyone else as 'offended' by my initial post as you are. Perhaps the only person that would be offended is Whedon's wife. You take stuff WAY to personally. Why? Because my post was not meant to stir a pot or offend. However you take offense. Just whoa. I am sure you will write something amazingly witty and thought provoking but once again, you are a cause of some of the toxicity and demonstrate why you are someone that should be avoided rather than engaged. Have fun. I have some work to attend to. You know where to find me if you really must. Something tells me that you will because you "must". Lunch was delicious.
  11. Why is it that anyone... and I mean anyone on these boards... that says something that you find disagreeable gets your knickers all in a twist? It's almost noon btw... I do not have time right now for Bosco Drama Day... Meeting someone for lunch in 12 minutes. I will be back later.
  12. I liked Man of Steel and felt that could have been a companion piece to the Nolan Batman flicks... an epilogue or something. Wonder Woman was good but not great. I watched it recently and while it was entertaining, I felt that there was a lot of things that they purposely changed as to not have it be compared to Captain America (as far as the plot not the character... however I felt the ending had too much of a Cap 1 1st Avenger feel to it... Suicide Squad was a hot mess Batman V Superman Regular Cut, Ultimate Cut... should have been cut... I have seen the regular version three times and the Ultimate Cut once just to see if it could have redeemed the movie. It is a bad movie. Affleck was great, Cavill was great, the plot, storytelling and editing amounts to another hot mess. Justice League I will eventually see... but I have not been impressed as I have with Marvel or the DC Nolan Batman movies. And The DCUniverse has NOT been successful. Even the studio knows that they have not been successful. They are not making the money on this incarnation of their characters that they have in the past. They realized far greater overall success prior to this extended DCUniverse. I am not just talking about box office revenue I am talking about merchandising and other tie ins. Hence... the shake up across the board.
  13. To tell the truth though, every time I notice an announcement about a DC film, my brain says, "They are still trying to make movies, that's cute." with a little laugh.
  14. I really do not believe that Whedon cheating on his wife over the course of 21 years is going to bar him from anything to tell the truth. At the end of the day, who cares. If it was two consenting adults engaged in their activities then the only real offended party is his wife at the time. Now, this is not to diminish the pain and suffering that he inflicted upon his wife, however if all he did was cheat on his wife then there was no harassment, forced or coerced sexual interaction upon costars or subordinates. As far as I have read he cheated on his wife. Half of Hollywood cheated on their spouses. If that is going to get someone kicked off a film then there would be no more movies. There might be something more there. OR Since the DCU seems to be a hot mess, maybe WB REALLY does want a shake up. Doesn't matter anyway... in ten years time, Disney will own Batman and Superman anyway.
  15. Never... As I just finished building a pirate set from 1989 to list on eBay. Finally sorting out this collection I bought years ago.
  16. Pay attention to da toyz man... da toyz In the Lego sets he is nowhere to be seen... He is the only one of his crew absent from the sets marked 'the final battle'
  17. Soooooooooooo someone that is notable absent from the toys is....
  18. Resistance is most likely going to be the title of the new TV show once Rebels wraps everything up. The question is whether it will take place before Episode IV, During Episode 4 but on the side of Episode 4,5,5... OR will it take place before Episode 7... Resistance is definitely for the TV show though.
  19. As someone who uses GPA I can easily tell you how GPA can be manipulated and there is really not much that can be done about it. I am not mocking GPA. I find it to be a valuable and more importantly fun tool to have. As someone who looks at things in multiple angles for how someone can scam the hell out of it, I can point out a few things. 1 - Lower priced books and free shipping. I recently bought a book for $30 on CLink and flipped it on eBay for $50 + shipping. What is the real value of the book? What is the value of the book if I had included shipping in the ask price and marked the listing as free shipping? The market sees the recorded price of my book and then as Joe said, my book becomes the new norm instead of the outlier it really is. 2 - Want to manipulate sales with GPA? Let's play movie hype. Let's take multiple copies of Comic Book X which everyone knows is in development. I will sell a copy of Comic Book X for $115 to Joe over eBay. Previous sales are usually $50. I sell another to my neighbor for $135. (Joe and my neighbor are in on this btw - this is make believe btw) Then I offer all the rest of my copies at $100. GPA has a few sales at $115-$135 all manipulated by me. Now I take a stack of books and sell them all at the low low price of $100. Wasn't there someone on the boards who was caught doing this? He was faking sales to manipulate GPA... was it 1st Iron Fist? Why is that standing out? GPA is a far better guide than overstreet but it is not the end all be all. Common sense should always prevail. This is what I texted someone today regarding current pricing trends during the Heritage Auction: "Judging by what people just paid for Buster Brown, I say that the ASM 100 cover ends at $427,000,000." When it comes to buying things and 'guide', as a collector I offer you this... Pay what you are comfortable paying, buy what you like, buy it with the understanding that you may never get any money back on it. It is there for your enjoyment. After that anything you get for something is icing on the cake. K I am rambling...
  20. I am off today... I am doing a tour of LI... let's see what I dig up.
