  1. I was just sent a message from someone as to whether or not the item is boxed. 1 - All pics depict a loose item with no box. 2 - The eBay description says - no packaging 3 - The item says that it is previously used 4 - The description says that it is loose and was built to make sure all pieces are there. So... I kind of get why he has to say that. People do not read.
  2. There is no such thing as fair and reasonable when you are discussing what basically boils down to paying anything above old newsprint. I usually immediately dismiss anyone who launches into quoting what they feel is a fair price. I know a LOT of other people that have the same mentality even on these boards and it has been discussed in private but will probably not publicly say it. What is fair and reasonable to one is usually overpriced or in some cases undervalued to another. That's why when it comes to the stuff I am offering, I am comfortable with the price point I have it listed at. If it sells, then great. If it doesn't then it eventually will whether it happens in a few weeks or a few months or even a few years.
  3. Yeeeeeah... well, when someone tells me what they believe is 'fair' I usually don't counter and say, "I appreciate your interest but I am comfortable with the price point that I have currently set for this item." Almost everything and I mean ALMSOT everything eventually sells at the price it is listed for. Again I had someone tell me what they believed a 'fair' price would be last week with a piece of jewelry that I had listed for $95 straight BIN Buyer 1 - Can you provide a few extra measurements (Measurements were listed but ... fine). Buyer 1 - Will you take $65 ? Buyer 1 - Will you take $70 ? Also starts to tell me what she feels a 'fair price is and why $95 is too much' Buyer 1 - Will you take $80 ? Also says that if she feels 'it's just not right she will return it" Buyer 1 - Writes long lengthy not why she should be able to get it for less since it would make her "happy" since she cannot afford $95. I consult the relative who realizes that the piece is underpriced so I raise it $20 to $115 Buyer 1 - Will you honor the original price of $95 ? At this point I have her blocked from sales. Buyer 1 - writes that she was going to pay the $115 but it seems she is blocked. Buyer 1 - A week later Please take me off block I really want it and I promise I won't return it for silly reasons. Buyer 2 comes in a week later and hits the BIN and it is shipped. That was a couple of days ago and I am SURE Buyer 1 will write me again at some point about something. How do I know this? I handle a second eBay account for a close relative. She did the same thing over there as well where she is also blocked.
  4. Get Stan Lee to sign it ! Seriously though - quite impressive.
  5. - Could not explain it really. I read the message and instantly rolled my eyes and clicked decline before I even considered it. I've done that before. I have actually accepted a lower offer on something based upon someone's note.
  6. I turned down an offer without countering just because of this message using the word, "bro." For some reason, this message made my head hurt.
  7. I would be curious to see a sample of Stan Lee Autographs collected from all over for certain days.
  8. I actually overpaid once for a store sticker on a card. I knew I would never see it again on that particular card so I threw I did whatever it would take to win the bid. It is one of the three AFA vintage figures I have saved still MOC. As was said, it all depends on what is meaningful to the buyer.
  9. They sold for 4 x what I paid... They were my beach sandals that I bought for around $10. Sold them for $40.
  10. Hey, I sold my sandals off last year to 'someone'...
  11. China is boring so I filled it with toys dating as far back as the 1930's if not earlier and things that were meaningful that were given by close relatives and friends as I grew up. Some are a couple of recent pickups that just look too cool like some of the recent Transformers. There are no vintage Star Wars or GI Joe toys in there as I have those packed away. As I find more old toys I will pull out the modern stuff to make space. BTW... those wooden trains, the black ones with the blue passenger car and the large wooden truck with trailer are both made by Lego before Lego made plastic bricks.
  12. Dunno... I sold a Spider-man 1 Green and Black in a CGC 9.9 as a pair for $1000. I was happy. Someone wanted them bad enough. GI Joe 21 is always in demand and that had a large print run. There is a lot of drek in every age but there are always some gems amongst it.
  13. The wheels are in motion... and things will never be the same again !!!!!!!
  14. Wait until people start asking me questions.
  15. Me? I listed a pair of sneakers today.
  16. If any of you... and I mean ANY OF YOU ever give me a hard time EVER again about selling my old sneakers on eBay I am going to redirect you to this thread.
  17. As of now... it is never coming out of the box. I have a year to clear out some space.
  18. As of now I bought it for potential resale with the mindset that if I get stuck with it... I get stuck with it. I speculate that protect the box it would weigh in at 17 lbs... the barge itself weighs in at 13+ lbs... I figure inserts and the box + mailer would make it 17 lbs Since the vehicle is 4 feet long I speculate the box required would be near 5 feet with a width of 20" around. 60"x20"x20" That means that shipping cross country (NY to CA) if I made that type of sale would be too cost prohibitive for a potential buyer via USPS. UPS seems to charge around $40 by those numbers. Sooo... if you do not buy it now but wait for later what is the minimum it would cost considering the seller wanted to make their money back? $540 Khetanna (accounting for tax) $50 to ship charged to buyer $60 eBay fee the seller needs to account for. ($600 estimate) 3% PayPal fee off of $600 at this point since sellers are charged fees on shipping for shipping ($18) Basically I think you will not find this for less than around $675 when they are released on eBay next year and that's IF the seller wants to include all incentives. So for a seller to break even he needs to charge around $625 + shipping for this.
