  1. Disney brings back the creature designer from Episode VIII for Episode IX https://screenrant.com/star-wars-9-creature-designer/
  2. Pushing a movie back like this so short of release is a logistical nightmare and likened to shooting oneself in the foot. Years ago, Hasbro tried to reshoot GI Joe 2 which was slightly better than GI Joe 1 simply because it threw Dwayne Johnson into the forefront. While the movie was not that bad, Hasbro committed retail suicide by pulling the movie and misaligning the retail tie ins. Wave one of everything was out on the shelf and was purchased but by the time the movie rolled around the retail aspect has slipped in alignment. There was a glut of product that no one wanted and it tanked from the merchandise side. If they were to pull a Star Wars movie so near to it's release, you would have a disaster. Han Solo products are already starting to get ready to ship to respective warehouses. Product is being manufactured ready to meet consumer anticipation. You remove the movie, there is no relatable media for the Star Wars toys and the product sits on the shelves. Toys R Us, Walmart and Amazon lose out big and Disney / Lucasfilm lose credibility with the retailers. This movie is ready to go sink or swim.
  3. Quickest way to change the patronage at a bar is to change the music that can be played on the jukebox. I would stay away from Heavy Metal or Rap music... Shad... going by music stations... Q104.3 Classic Rock is usually safe... Z-100 or WPLJ style stuff if you want the teens. Collectors Comics in Wantagh used to play WDRE / WLIR New Wave... that was one of the few places I could hear the Smiths while I went through books. Now a days... I guess you would Indie Folk / Songwriter... But if you are looking to do stuff out there... perhaps... (Can't believe I am saying this) Modern country could go well... There is also some room for Singer Songwriter / Jam ... heh
  4. Quite a few have discussed that the best way to deal with the death of Fisher is to do a flash forward (which is the norm in Star Wars) and write away the passing of Leia. Time between Episode I (The Phantom Menace) and Episode II (Attack of the Clones): 10 years Time between Episode II and Episode III (Revenge of the Sith): Three years Time between Episode III and Episode IV (A New Hope): 19 years Time between Episode IV and Episode V (The Empire Strikes Back): Three years Time between Episode V and Episode VI (Return of the Jedi): One year Time between Episode VI and Episode VII (The Force Awakens): 30 years Time between Episode VII and Episode VIII (The Last Jedi): Like, two seconds https://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/Time-Jump-Star-Wars-Episode-9-44452675
  5. John Williams to score Episode 9 https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/902922/Star-Wars-9-news-Episode-IX-release-date-John-Williams-JJ-Abrams-Han-Solo-movie
  6. Returning: JJ Abrams (Biggest character of them all) John Williams C-3PO R2-D2 Chewbacca Kylo Ren Rey Finn Poe Dameron Luke Skywalker (Possible)
  7. Because we can never have too many Star Wars threads... Figured I would start the thread for the next and final chapter of the Skywalker saga. Try to keep discussion of Episode 8 out of it (hint the debate) unless it is linked to Episode 9 discussion. Remember kiddies... rumors are fun... spoilers are bad.
  8. I still thought it was phenomenal. Far better than the Force Awakens. Now that some of the insanity has passed I will post my review of it hopefully sometime over the next week.
  9. Because one night when he and I went out, we let our egos get the better of us, competed in a series of events and activities and discovered that his art was the only thing where he was my better.
  10. I can live with that. I have had no problems with international buyers since using the service and sales have increased. So if I lose one buyer but gain five more, then I can live with that.
  11. Sorry Tim - keeping all of you in my thoughts.
  12. An update... I have sold more items internationally with the Global Shipping Program. This is even taking into account that I had lower value ones that I previously mentioned were always available internationally. Since I switched over from offering regular international shipping to eBay's GSP I have noticed that I am sending more things than usual to Kentucky. This leads me to believe that the following MAY be true. Buyers on eBay have more confidence in a Seller using the GSP as they may feel eBay acts as an additional layer of protection. eBay may promote listings offering GSP in their searches by having it listed more prominently in their best search. I know that from the buyers standpoint on here that the GSP is not a popular part of eBay. However, I have seen many upsides to it as a seller and I am using eBay as a means to sell off many more things than just comics. I have found it a valuable tool in selling jewelry and every piece that I have sold internationally has reached it's buyer without a hitch.
  13. Nahhhhh - because if I ever wanted to collect again I would probably go out and buy the same stuff I already have.
  14. I am always selling and always narrowing my collection down. However I also buy things to flip.
  15. I am at a crossroads with this. I don't keep my comics at my house and I am getting to the point where I debate whether or not it is worth holding onto things I do not even have the luxury of possessing.
  16. The interesting thing is that twitter removed the image from my post but left the post about the image. So the pic is removed with a message that says that the image was removed at the request blah blah blah.
  17. Guilty. (Somewhat) Whenever I want to see something that I have any question of I go through the sold listings and see which version of the title for the listing sold. This is common on Star Wars figures. So if I see that VC-44 Luke Skywalker Dagobah Encounter sells more often than Luke in Dagobah Costume... it's a straight cut and paste. I ignore the plagiarism rule from eBay when it comes to manufacturers descriptions since eBay itself ignores that rule. (Punch in the UPC code for an item) So therefore manufactures' descriptions of an item must be exempt from people plagiarism. So for instance, when I sold off my sideshow figures I simply went back and cut and pasted the entire product description into the listing. As far as pictures? I think I take better pics than others. However, there have been times when I cannot seem to get the glare out of a scan of a slabbed comic. If I bought it on CLink, Heritage or somewhere else, I will take the image.
  18. Well when people are willing to pay six to seven figures for a piece of old newsprint you need to realize that there are other people willing to steal old newsprint that is worth six to seven figures.
  19. This was the notification I received from Twitter... minus my twitter feed user name.
  20. I kind of got a cease and desist from Lego for publishing that pic of the Han Solo falcon.
  21. Bottom line is that you are coming across as a tool. I use the word 'tool' because every other time I type something it seems to get filtered out. Ease up, take a breath, sit back and get to know the atmosphere and the culture before you start waving yourself around. You might actually enjoy yourself.
