I used paypal personal the other day. I picked something up for someone at cost. They PP personal'd me the money + shipping fee. I used paypal personal three weeks ago to send in money for my Fantasy Football league. There are many instances where I have used Paypal Personal. Whenever I am selling things though, 3% is not much for the cost of doing business.

What have I done to you, that you would go out of your way to destroy whatever good will I may have had for you (and it was substantial)...? Have I done something to you personally, that you would respond like this? Or is it that you've decided you just don't like what I have to say or what I believe and think? :shrug: No ill will at all. The "am I on a list" was a fooling around comment since 'lists" seem to be all the rage these days. Relax though. Over the last few days you seem to be taking on a lot of fights. You thought Beige was making a comment at you when he wasn't, (to your credit you recognized it afterwards) It was a single picture, without comment, which intent was obviously unclear. It could have been aimed at me, you, the man in the moon. I asked if Beige had something to say to me. He didn't. I didn't "recognize it", I asked a question, and Beige answered me in a PM. Problem solved. Seems you've made more of something than you should, too. There is nothing "unusual" going on. That is only your perception. What Swick did was out of line, he's been doing that a lot lately, and something needed to be said. Who am I to say it? Nobody, but no one else was saying much, either (in that instance.) That's the end of it. And as long as people keep openly declaring that using Paypal without paying for their services is fine and dandy...which is beyond insane, and boggles my mind that we even have this discussion...then I will keep saying something about it. If you want to call that "taking on fights", by all means, feel free. These aren't "fights", but if you classify any and every disagreement as a "fight", then pretty much everything except songs and roses will look like "fights" to you. Indeed. It is a scummy thing to do. I would cut ties with the buyer and tell him to get his item somewhere else. No matter what he is not going to be happy now as he will feel that he could have done better. Forcing him to take the book will make him unhappy. Send him on his way to do better. BUT... NEVER do business with him again. I have mentioned this before. I had a craigslist buyer agree to purchase something. It was a lego set and we agreed on a price of $400. I get in the car and meet at our halfway point. He gets there and says that he feels he could do better elsewhere and instead of paying me $400, he will give me $300. (this had nothing to do with the condition or anything like that). I mentioned that the agreed upon price was $400. He said he really only wanted to spend $300 (or something like that). Then he told me that I could go home empty handed or go home with $300. As I got in my car with the Lego set he started offering more. What a jerk. I still have his emails and credentials saved so I never do business with him be it on Craiglist or anywhere else.

I never did add my shots to the thread. Felt it wasn't deserved after I took too long and removed my page as well. I did throw in a bunch of "I'm sorry goodies for the next 6 or 8 boardies to choose from." I would hope it keeps going so that stuff does not go to waste and other people enjoy it. Let it continue going to those that still want to participate.

Lesson here is not to counter-offer again when you've already said it was as low as you will go, at least not with the same counter. I see your point and would say that they are learning, but I have done that as well. Sort of like a "no really, $150 and that is it" Sometimes the buyer realizes that it's $150 and says okay and takes it. Other times they decline. I guess I should just decline and walk away and leave it up to the bidder to make the secondary offer of $150 on my own. Good point on that. They wrote to me once that I had an obligation to save something for them until they could afford it as they promise to eventually buy it. I say no I don't as it is up for sale now. - Just an amusing story... the eBay member won't have any impact on anyone here but it should be told. A relative of mine is starting to sell on eBay and just added their first person to their block list. She is selling off some of her handbags and jewelry. (Which is fine because she used to ask me to sell it for her.) Item was around $200 Bidder 1: makes an offer for $130. Declined countered at $150 with, "That is the lowest I will go." Bidder one responds with $140 saying I only want to pay $140. Seller counters again saying, "Sorry, $150" Bidder 2: Makes an offer of $175 a day after the $150 offer goes out to Bidder 1. Seller accepts while the counter is out. (Remember multiple bidders and make multiple offers all at the same time on eBay) Bidder 1 launches a tirade of messages about how she is 'owed' the piece and how the seller has a 'moral obligation' to sell it to them because they would have taken it for $150. Bidder 1 claims how the seller is damned and how what goes around comes around and to wait and see. Seller - relative turns their account over to me as they don't know how to handle this. Please cease and desist from further communication and you are blocked from engaging in all bidding activity with this account. Any further communication will be reported. Guess what... Loopdee Loo continues her tirade. Reported.
