  1. It's Batman... every diorama is littered with little Easter Eggs... Down below you can find Captain Jack Sparrow chasing after the rockettes...
  2. Replica of the plaza... Hey... who is that at the top of the building?
  3. Replica of the statue that lies in front of the tree.
  4. I had to stop off at Rockefeller Center this evening. On a side note, pretty sure that was Floyd Mayweather who rolled up with his crew in six suv's to go shopping along 5th Ave. Note to self... one day I want to become so successful one day that I have a crew that requires six SUVs to transport in order to go Christmas shopping even if it means avoiding real challenges like Pacquiao. Anyway... some pics...
  5. There are other pressing services that offer a more personal care and approach to your books. I may not be allowed to name them but I have used both and even if the price were the same I would still prefer using a kangaroo.
  6. I will admit to have purchased a Lego Custom. This guy makes these using a tooling process where the details are applied in pretty much the same manner that Lego does it themselves...
  7. The blurred picture? yeah That Spider-man set is a previously released set currently retailing for $9.99. It is the Spider-man v Electro set.
  8. You know I would understand the appeal of creating stuff yourself but when these sets all come with custom pieces that can only be put together one way, that explanation doesn't work to me. Not that it really needs explaining , I'm sure lots of people don't get the stuff Im into, but yeah Lego is a bit if a mystery to me too There are many that find new uses for some of those custom pieces that you would never imagine the way they are incorporated. Check out "The Brother's Brick" Here is a very simple design where someone incorporated a book to make a mini house. The angled sides are normally used for speeder bike steering vanes. http://www.brothers-brick.com/
  9. Someone commented that there was no helicarrier pictured. Fear not... (those that are actually interested)... I just took a look at the German retail catalog. http://catalogs.lego.com/BrandCatalog/de_de/1HY2015/ These Avengers sets were taken from the German retailer catalog. This catalog does not feature Lego Architecture, Exclusive Creator Sets or any of the other "big" sets such as the modular houses. The helicarrier may still be coming.
  10. Nice Rebel Transport shells covers. One of these days, I need to get me one of those again.
  11. I wonder if that would tank the current market for the originals? Oh absolutely... I will publicly state the dirty little secret that all the MIB collectors do not want to acknowledge. Once a set is discontinued, it is cheaper to source the parts to build the set than it is to buy it on the secondary market. The only thing that I feel maintains longterm growth are sets that have retired parts in them or sets of a specific color. The Statue of Liberty is a good example of that. However there are accounts of people who have been ordering the parts from Bricklink over the years to build their own UCS Millennium Falcon with the only real expensive piece being the radar dish as that was exclusive to that set. The only sets I have in the box are sets in storage that I have not had the time to do anything with and an extra Death Star since I still believe that is the best SW Lego set ever produced. I missed out on the original Dark Knight Tumbler. I wanted one and was not going to pay $200-$300 that people are asking for it since the set contained very common parts. I sourced the parts together for around $60 if I remember correctly.
  12. Aaaaaaaand just took a look... Millennium Falcon: 7965 Sold Out Lego has sold out of the current incarnation of the Falcon. Whatever is at retail is all that will exist. Why is this kind of important? Rumors abound that they will re-release the monster UCS Millennium Falcon set that retailed for $500 a few years ago containing 5,195 parts. That obviously may or may not be true, but with new movies coming out, there is a strong chance that we will get a new Falcon and X-Wing which will probably be revealed by SDCC.

  14. Playing my Banning / Strike / LTPC game would be in poor form. However... Celebrity Death Pool anyone? Draft ten celebrities.... If they pass you subtract the age that they passed from 100 and that is how many points you get added to your score. So for instance, Miley Cyrus is worth more in this game than Tony Bennett.
  15. can you make all your posts like this? When I do memes I try to do my best and make them as accessible as possible.

  17. Interesting It is funny you say critics are turning on the show. I've actually been surprised by all the praise the show has received lately. Right now Metacritic has it at an 80: http://www.metacritic.com/tv/the-walking-dead/season-5 Entertainment Weekly says best season so far: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/11/11/walking-dead-best-season-ever/ Vox.com (never heard of them) had this to say: "I can't believe I'm writing this, but The Walking Dead is one of the best shows of 2014" http://www.vox.com/2014/12/1/7314439/walking-dead-finale This reviewer even mentions he disliked season 4 but now is enjoying season 5: "In contrast to his predecessors, Scott M. Gimple, the showrunner since Season 4, is getting nothing but praise. And deservedly so. I stand by everything I wrote a few weeks back: The Walking Dead has been shockingly good so far this year." http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospectus/walking-dead-2014-midseason-finale-recap/ Most of the reviews I'm reading of the season are praising the success of the show. It is curious that your review choices were more from the niche market that would probably include more comic fans than the ones I linked. Personally, I feel the show has huge peaks and valleys. I hate the way they split the show off and tell other stories. I'm truly only interested in Rick and I feel the split focus just doesn't work. It was what drove me crazy about last season. However, I think a lot of my criticism of the show is because of my love for the book. Talking to none comic readers, they love it! My wife loves the show. I have coworkers that love the show. Clearly from the ratings, people love the show. I'm not sure I'd say it is losing steam by any stretch of the imagination. And this is your opinion. So let me ask you something. How come you are entitled to your opinion, but when I present mine "I am talking out my ***?" Interesting how your mind works.
  18. I also believe that you should have the books in hand before you sell. One of these days someone is going to claim they are coming back from CGC and then are lost in the mail after someone throws up a sign. Then the board is left with the following question: Were the books actually lost and does the seller get to cancel the sale or must they replace the book forcing the seller to be then out the book as well as the fees to purchase a replacement?
  19. Yes and no... Was what he did wrong by offering it before it was in hand? I absolutely agree that it was wrong. However, even I have bought a few books on Comiclink or on eBay with the sole intent of flipping them at some point.
  20. for the same reason people went back to Clink after their fiasco Comiclink went above and beyond when it came to addressing the problem. As Greggy recounts:
  21. Comic Connect cancelled the transactions on Bill's books not Ricky Bobby. What Ricky is doing is a "dink" move (What up Greggy?) but it was Metro's canceling and not his. Anyway I figured that this would happen...
