  1. But are we going with the crew in our timeline: Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian or will they feature the cast in the past?
  2. Now what if you are buying something from your actual real life friend / family?
  3. I haven't used PP personal payments, though I've seen it there. I'm assuming that buyer protections are lacking for such payments? Yes
  4. Quick question... I must admit that I was tempted to take the NES system currently in the mixed threads. However, I am looking for a cheap way to play the games in some reliable sense of the word. What is the best way to relive the NES? I was looking at a couple of emulators on Amazon but I did not like the reviews that I saw. Anyone have some words of wisdom?
  5. Arkham Origins: $29.99 if you have not picked it up yet. http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Arkham-Origins-Xbox-360/dp/B00C71034I/ Lego Marvel is also on sale at Amazon... also $29.99 http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Marvel-Xbox-360/dp/B00B98HF1O/ Lot of gaming deals going on right now. Looks like my cousins are getting games for Christmas.
  6. $39,000 and counting.. It is gorgeous though, and many people don't know Dr Strange now, but if they build him right (I have an idea for this ) in the movie then I think this could rival Spider-man and Wolverine as Marvel's top billing. Agreed.... for the last scene in the closing credits of the final Marvel movie in phase three... Magician Stephen Strange lifts up a snow globe and says, "By the Vishanti, imagine if there was a real world in there." He shakes it once for good measure and goes out on stage at the Bellagio to perform his act.
  7. Very nice! Seconded! Thanks... took a while to that particular one which was poifect...
  8. What grade was it at? What's the GPA on a lower grade to mid grade anyone? Is the book still rising? Yeah, so a boardie did end up with it and it is in hand as of this week. I had contacted CLink like I had with my other larger purchases and had all my questions answered. If you want to see pics of anything specific on the book or have any questions I would be happy to answer. I paid what could be considered a strong price but before and as this auction was going on, there were boardies offering another 6.0 book at the same price and a 5.5 for about $150 less. At NYCC, those that had this book at all were also looking for the same price at the same grade and most of those books had defects that were consistent with the grade (and Marvel chipping) but were not things that I was looking for in the book. My 6.0 (CLink) did not have any Marvel chipping or front cover folds. The top left corner was acceptable to me and the top edge shows some wrinkling that would probably smooth out with a press if I ever feel like rolling the dice on a CPR. The book was slabbed in 2008 and from the wrinkling I would guess it has not been pressed yet. The only annoyance I have is that the plastic bag that it was shipped in from CLink had a bunch of holes through from wear. Really? $2500 for a book and CLink couldn't throw on a fresh bag over the CGC case? It's the little things like a 'please' and 'thank you' sometimes.
  9. I think because of the content of the book. While the Faster Friends book featured a polar bear it did not seem to have a "spiritual connection to the island" it turned out to be a matter of coincidence. The Mystery Tales issue seemed to represent a part of the mystique of the island as it was included with a bottle of sand, a compass, a knife and I forget what else.
  10. Have you seen many at all of this book? I saw one a couple months ago on Ebay but that's a scarce book. There must have been hundreds of WD #1's for sale, unsold and sold, in the same three month time period. On the Mystery Tales the census shows 3 graded copies, total, compared to Walking Dead #1 1st print's 1700+ and climbing. On the Mystery Tales we haven't reached the point where there less buyers than sellers. I lost the one on eBay the other night. They pop up from time to time. Obviously they are less obtainable than a WD 1 9.8. But you have to keep in mind that no one cared about this book until Richard Alpert asked a young John Locke which of the items (including the comic) were "his". The book went from being a $100 book in lower mid grade (like any other atlas sci fi mystery book of the time) to a $1100+ lower mid grade raw book almost overnight. The book was featured in one scene as a prop. Walking Dead has turned into a franchise.
  11. I had hoped the bubble would have burst on Mystery Tales 40, the comic book that was featured on LOST. While that IS an atomic era Atlas book and probably in shorter supply than WD key issues, that book has maintained its value three years after the show has ended.
  12. What has the longevity been like on the used 8300 and 8250 scanners you have been buying. If it was a difference of around $100 I would have gone new. I am seeing quite a price difference here between new and refurbished. If I pick one of these up it is to scan comics but also do some heavy duty scanning to get rid to keep work related documents on file instead of cluttering my desk with all of this nonsense. What if any problems has anyone had with refurbished scanners and how long did they last?
  13. I should have put this here: Just picked this up: I have been reading all of the Agents of Atlas material I could find since I have the Marvel Unlimited App and Account. First Appearance of the Yellow Claw and Jimmy Woo This is NOT the ComicLink book from last months auction. While in the same grade I made a judgement call and dropped out of that race and picked this up on eBay a bit cheaper. What I sacrificed on paper quality by going to Cream to Off White I picked up on a full cover and a couple of creases. The Comic Link 4.5 had a piece missing from the bottom center of the cover.

  15. Had I known this was here I would not even have bothered lurking around Hisstank for the last six years.
  16. *sigh* -slym I really don't watch a lot of TV. Every Week - Boardwalk Empire - Walking Dead When I can - NCIS, Law and Order SVU, Person of Interest
  17. I saw the first episode and haven't watched since. Is it worth it to even watch online or should I stick to NCIS?
  18. Disappointed that Data from ST is absent.
  19. See my biggest problem with the shirt is that the scale is all wrong when it comes to relation of size amongst characters. They are walking a fine line. I am sure that someone has said something. I cannot imagine that someone hasn't. Lucas goes after Neil Young for having Jawas on stage during his shows a couple of decades, did he not? So I am hard pressed to see how Lucasarts doesn't say something about these things.
  20. Or that the book looked too nice for a 6.0 holder. That's usually the case. I looked at it. It was subbed in 2008. It definitely looked too nice for a 6.0.
  21. Ript Apparel is offering another great 'parody' or 'homage' design for one day only... Somehow these sites are allowed to do this. Saw this design and thought I would bump it for discussion. This was titled "These are NOT the droids you were looking for" https://www.riptapparel.com/?utm_source=bronto&utm_medium=email&utm_term=RIPT+Apparel&utm_content=Take+Your+Pick%2FNot+the+Droids+We+Are+Looking+For&utm_campaign=%22Take+Your+Pick%22+and+%22Not+the+Droids+We+Are+Looking+For%22++Available+Now+at+RIPT+Apparel
  22. I figured I would also ask the FF collectors on their thoughts... (I posted this already in the ST110 thread) I am interested in two books lately. I am still looking for a nice Strange Tales 110 and have been thinking about buying a copy of FF 48. (I sold my lower grade copy this year) I am not looking at an investment here. I am wondering which I should pick up now and which I should pick up next year. The ST110 6.0's seem to be going past the $2000 mark while the FF48 is possible to find for slightly under $2000 in a 9.2. Thoughts?
