  1. This thread is so tamed now! Here´s 26 minutes full of hate to fix it. (and spoilers- seriously, the whole plot is described in this review).
  2. It´s not mine and don´t know if this has been posted before, but I guess there is no harm in putting this here. Gabriele Dell'Otto commission
  3. Just picked this up from the Post office. Brazilian Ebal 1948. Printed just 5 months after the US copy.
  4. On the mail yesterday. 1 1959 Mexican Novaro and 2 1973 Spideys from Brazil
  5. Got this today First Superman story printed in Portugal. Was published in 6 comic dedicated papers in Jan/Feb 1952. Prints Superman 61: "Superman Returns To Krypton" - Origin Retold.
  6. Got these yesterday from part of a trade with my comic/antique dealer. 3 comic dedicated papers from 1946.
  7. For slabs or raws? If for slabs, you have to find out if these scanners use a CCD imaging process. If they do not, you will not get good results from it. If for raws, you may need to tinker w/ the settings but both would be very serviceable for your needs. Raws. I think I might go with the Epson. From what I read, the scanning software is more complete + the max res is higher. I really only use the printer for text printing and my current Epson has served me well for a long time. Thanks
  8. I need to get a new printer and thought I might as well get the scanner included. I am looking for a low/medium level for light printing and raw book scans Undecided between 2 models: Epson Expression Home XP-405 http://www.trustedreviews.com/epson-expression-home-xp-405_Printer_specs Scan resolution 1200 x 2400 HP Photosmart 5520 specifications http://www.trustedreviews.com/hp-photosmart-5520_Printer_specs Scan resolution 1200 x 1200 The Epson has higher max res but the guy at the store told me that I should never need the maximum res unless for large photo manipulation. Epson inks and maintenance are a lot higher Price for both are exactly the same. Any advice?
  9. "Reprints" the case the people make are these prints are the first introductions of these stories so to them they are original editions in a different language. That's all fine & well but still doesn't change the fact that the correct term would be foreign language reprints. I was born in Denmark and read Danish reprints of American comics growing up - that those reprints were my first introduction to a lot of the Marvel characters doesn't mean that they're suddenly "original editions". This made me change some listing´s description really quickly. Not a noob anymore
  10. Awesome work Red84. Would love to see something inspired by Dali. Not sure if this qualifies for this thread... or even as artwork. Did this in paintshop pro XI a few years ago.
  11. Cool book. I came back to collecting after 17 years break. I used to buy and collect many titles, both Marvel and DC from Brazilian editors "Abril". with my cousin when we were kids in the end 80´s and start 90´s. We built up a nice collection but I stopped when I went to college 600Km away from home. My cousin continued collecting throughout the years and started collecting original modern US titles at some stage in 1999. Mainly Moderns, Image and Marvel floppies and Assorted TPB´s and Hardcovers. He passed away from chronic disease in 2011 and left me the collection. 7 long boxes with our collection from our teen years and all US moderns. After a few months down memory lane I started selling parts of the collection online. found the boards and started collecting some titles. I collect Portuguese and Brazilian prints of US keys. My favorites are Adams Bats from Brazilian Editor "Ebal"
  12. Tim doesn´t know it yet, but he´s already getting some of the Ebals bellow. That Spidey is not for sale and will be encapsulated in the near future. This was my score for the last week of 2013
  13. After almost 2 years chasing this mofo... finally got it. First app of Spidey printed in Portugal. 1971. Probably the rarest hero book in Portugal.
  14. It's Brazilian but they were distributed in Portugal as well I think. Nuno (Barbarian) could verify that better than I can. The Norway books are pretty cool, you don't see them as often as some of the other books from the European countries. Brazil, May 1974. Anything Ebal was printed in Brazil. Very few copies made it to Portugal.
  15. You truly have a terrific collection. Congratulations! (thumbs u +1000 Very Unique set. Congrats on the achievement.
