  4. Well done and wish you and Rich every success. (thumbs u
  5. The London Mart at the Royal National is free entry. But I agree about some of the larger UK dealers who attend these shows. Over graded, over priced and wound up with their own self importance.
  6. I suppose we should be thankful there are an comic shows left a all. Like you I like to get the full shopping experience once in a while.
  7. Congrats. (thumbs u How many dealer tables there?
  8. I think they were lucky to get 3.0 from CGC. Marvel chipping, missing pieces, looks like the spine is ripped at the bottom, plus general wear and tear. I can't see anyone bidding on this thinking it has any upgrade potential. Price doesn't make sense to me Nor me. You can get a CGC 3.0 for far less surely. - If FF realy is on the move, Maybe I had better get a wiggle on and fill the gaps in my 2-20 FF run. I only need 19 of 'em.
  9. Agree with all that. (thumbs u I remember having playground squabbles as to who was stronger - Hulk or Thing. It is with great sadness that FF has slipped so far down the Marvel pecking order. To the younger readers FF just isn't important. And I dont think it's got much to do with the movies either. The stopped being popular ages before that. Then again, it makes my childhood grails easier to pickup.
  10. My favorite Hulk / Thing cover of all time bar none. Well done. Great pickups.
  11. Man do I want to join this club. Soon with a bit of luck.
  12. Cool. A Fellow member of the Hulk 1 club. - not too many of us around. If you wanna nerdy chat. We'll be in Starbucks on Southampton Row from around 10.30. (trains an all that means we always ge in early). Cheers Lloyd
  13. Hi Anyone going to the Comic Mart in London tomorrow? Trains look OK this weekend (no replacement busses!), so me and my lad will be there rummaging through the boxes as usual.
  14. When I started collecting in the mid 70s Conan was white hot. Today, not so much. Still love the books, the stories and the great B Smith AW of those early issues.
  15. I bought Howard The Duck 1-20 last year from a Boot Fair. Guy was selling as a bundle. Cost me £3. Only bought them as for the Kiss factor.
  16. All this talk of old comic shops got me thinking.. I had been trying to remember my first comic mart. I knew it was in London in the mid 70s but couldn't remember anything specifc about it, other than I picked up a couple of silver Daredevil's inc a very tatty #2. ('twas all my meagre schoolboy budget would allow - even after saving pocket and pape round money for months). Anyways, I thought I would do some googling and OMG I found it on a page on Dez Skins site. It was Comicon 1976. Every page of the scanned programme brought memories flooding back, especially the cap-cap by John Romita, washing over me in one huge wave of nostalgia. I must have kept the programme for years as every page is familiar. Wish I had it now. Check it out here. http://dezskinn.com/fanzines-3/ Dez Skin Was anyone else there? Has anyone, by chance got a programme?
