  1. Oh and I almost forgot, Action Comics #1. But dont get too excited, its the 1988 Aniv reprint. But still nice at 25p, can you believe I have never actually read the story, until today.
  2. Well done. i like this mart as well.I always come back with something. Shame the trains stopped me getting ther today. Had to be content with a boot fair, but didn't do to badly. Picked up a load of stuff including 10 or so Batman Graphic Novels ( Adams stuff), 7 or 8 Planet of the Apes B&W mags (cents), 4 or 5 old marvel uk annuals from the early 70s, Origins of Marvel Comics by Stan Lee, plus odd Vampire mags, Hulk, Cap and Spidey early graphic novels inc the Thing and Hulk. All told 56 items. The guy wanted just 25p each! And then because I bought so much, he gave me a discount! I was in heaven!
  3. Damn trains! Replacement bus service. Can't handle that and the increase of alomost a hour to the journy so it looks like I'll be giving my favorite mart a miss today.
  4. I will be there. I like a good rummage.
  5. And because I don't love the lighting or focus issues on the group shot...
  6. Come on in, the water's fine.
  7. Really? I thought it was filled with plot holes. I enjoyed it but it didn't flow very well.
  8. Thanks for the nice omments mysterio. It has a slight breaking indentation in the middle which goes throught the first couple of pages. You can see it in the middle speech bubble. But apart from that, i agree it presents well. I dont think I will get it slabbed though. I like to flick throught my raw books once in a while. I enjoy the touch, look and smell !(!) of an old book.
  9. And this. Low grade but nice 'lived in' feel....
  10. This might be a (very old) thought, but surely this adds weight to the argument that slabs should have full grading notes, or at least an online lookup with the notes and maybe internal photos etc. If a book looks heaps better than the indicated grade on the top label we should know why. Without it, it makes it difficult to 'buy the book, not the grade' if all you can see is the front and back covers.
  11. In no way does that look a 5.0.
  12. Picked this up from FT last year... Still love it.
  13. I'll be there. I like this friendly mart. It would be cool to meet up with any fellow boardies.
  14. Cool. Thanks Bud. Looking forward to your PM. I'm feeling like I wanna pick some stuff up. Getting withdrawl symptoms.
  15. Boot Fair Sunday. Picked up Marvel Treasury Editions (you just gotta love that oversize format) #14, 15, 17, 18, 19, and 23. Nice condition. All for £6 - thats about 10 bucks.
  16. I'm really getting into When Giants Walked the Earth: A Biography Of Led Zeppelin. Got it for my 50th. A great read for an old git who still lives in the 70s
  17. Thanks Gator Still loving the AF15 u sold me in th summer by the way. Thanks Bud!
  18. Looks like I'm in. Posted this in another thread a few months ago, but should be here as well.
