  1. For me, it was always Betty. Veronica was too fickle. wealthy, but fickle. Betty would stand by you through thick or thin and I bet she'd treat you right. I have a rich fantasy life.
  2. Also, Pep 20 and Zip 22. Great war time covers.
  3. That's a shame. I hate rusted staples, especially when the rust stain migrates to the paper and weakens it.
  4. Most of The Hangman stories in Pep and Hangman and Black Hood comics were great. Lucey, Novick and Fuji did some great work. The Firefly was a great series in Top Notch Comics. From 8-27 with the last story in 27 ending with to be continued. It never was as the comic became Top Notch Laugh. The horribly tragic Bob Wood did some fine work.
  5. The Firefly was one of my favorite MLJ characters. The stories and art seemed a cut above.
  6. If I was stranded on a desert island with the choice of the complete works of any one comic creator, it would be Carl Barks. Every panel was a work of art.
  7. Yes, he did. I heard that from Bob Beerbohm years ago.
  8. I knew Barry. Used to hang out at his mom's home in Oakland. I believe it was High Street. We called it The Bat Cave. He had some books!
  9. On the phone with an antique type shop who had Archie 1-10. Low to mid grade according to him. Late 90's early 2000. Wanted a grand. I was such a tightwad that I told him I'll sleep on it and call him the next day. I waited two days and they were gone. Still kicking myself. A few years later a Pep 22 vg+ for $2500.00. Same thing happened. I began sensing a pattern.
  10. Great thread. Although when I first saw it I thought it was going to be a GGA thread.
