  1. Just a personal policy, but I refuse to issue partial refunds to people after an unpleasant transaction I had on the boards. In my mind, you either keep the book as it came, or ship it back for a full refund. I have no interest in debating the theoretical reduction in value because of shipping damage or disagreement on grade. Regardless, the poor communication is a bad look.
  2. I was the lucky(?) winner of the 215 a couple of weeks ago. I was definitely hate bidding towards the end.
  3. Depends on the book. If it's my only option, I'll take it. Also, people find different things acceptable. Also also, I've held books designated brittle that weren't actually brittle.
  4. The quickest way I've seen to bump a book from a 6.5 to an 8.0 is to put it in my boxes.
  5. I hereby volunteer my services to be a shill for anything at any time. Beware, my integrity isn't cheap.
  6. And since they don't report sales to GPA, it's the only way to track sales from that venue.
  7. It's the smartest thing they can do, whether it's truthful or not. Nothing drives conspiracy theories like censorship.
  8. @N e r VI'm honestly just excited to be labeled a thug.
  9. Speaking as someone intimiately familiar with this subject, from a virology standpoint...you should definitely not connect to 5G if you want to bee Covid free.
  10. I can't imagine any business that wants to be successful looking at a product, deciding the value can be increased significantly with a tiny investment, then choosing not to make that investment. That's why they're being pressed. Heritage told the owners (presumably) that they would see more return if the books were pressed/cleaned/both before they were graded and auctioned. Even if they aren't on consignment, and HA bought the collection outright, the process is the same. More money = good. To me, the issue isn't pressing, it's the fact that every party involved has a vested interest in the success of each other. If I was allowed to grade my own tests, I would have been a Rhodes Scholar. Disclaimer: The books are incredible. I love looking at them. I'm glad they are being brought to market. I'm not doom and glooming. I'm not knocking the concept of pressing or grading. I'm not knocking money. I'm not knocking buyers, or sellers, or wishful thinkers. I love everyone, except @october.
  11. Hell, I'm excited about the change. One less compulsive activity that always results in disappointment.
  12. CGC intended to make money off of the market demanding an "impartial" assignation of a numerical grade to their beloved collectibles. Pretty simple.
  13. Tagging Gene so he can add his two cents. @shortboxed I've been using the app for a while now, and have nothing but great things to say. Even during a temporary shipping snafu, it's clear their motivation is keeping both sides of a transaction happy. They absorb paypal/cc fees, and shipping cost. The only thing you have to do is use the shipping label they send you and drop it off at the post office. Don't even have to stand in line!
  14. Nothing I love more than doing my morning search for Avon and getting thousands of makeup results.
  15. @Spyder! @MrBedrock It isn't that I'm unimpressed with the books. It's mind-blowing. It would also still be mind-blowing without CGC gifting VF grades on F- books. Just my opinion.
  16. Maybe, but I don't think the buyer of this book and the potential buyer of the Promise book are in the same pool.
  17. I think it's pretty clear by some of these grades, that's not really a rumor.
  18. If this is an 8.0, all of my 8.0s are 9.2s. This is just sad.
  19. Imagine how high this one would grade if the whole cover was actually present.
  20. There are others that would be super tough to lose, but these are just non-starters.
  21. Oh, my bad, I didn't know you were brain damaged. Gotcha. Carry on.
