  1. Spell check is NOT always your friend. I'm glad I have a copy of Funny Aminals, even if it's lower grade:
  2. Any comic store, once the supply chain finally corrects. They’re crazy hard to find the past few months
  3. I'm amazed I'm still pulling fairly large lots of the title at a time. I think it's going to start getting trickier to fill in holes very soon... but I'm surprised I've gotten as far as I have this quickly:
  4. Just added this to my collection. We may have seen it here before, but if nothing else this is a fresh scan:
  5. A couple Warrens today. The Creepy has 3 new stories by Archie Goodwin and the 1984 has a Wally Wood story:
  6. Has anybody else noticed how insane the price on the Alter Ego 7 has gotten?
  7. Agreed, go with McFarlane since he actually worked on the book. If you want a Stan signature they're easy to find on something cheaper.
  8. I love the A. A. Fair books that are early enough to not be "ERLE STANLEY GARDNER writing as a a fair" This one is only a few years old but is a great example of what I mean... A great cover, but use the A. A. Fair name properly! Then again, I prefer my William Irish, Cornell Woolrich, and George Hopley correctly credited as well.
  9. A couple in today. I've already got a copy of the Ace H-56 somewhere in storage, but was easier to just get another copy than dig it out. Super happy with how nice the Gold Medal looks... it has a library stamp across the top of the book, but is otherwise a very solid copy that was dirt cheap.
  10. No matter how many times I see that cover, it blows me away. You instantly want to know what's going on in the story. And there's such a mix of "this is where it all began" along with things being subtly wrong for how we later know the characters. One of the rare books where a book is key for the contents and a genuine classic cover on its own terms. And both of those copies are a lot nicer than mine!
  11. First Little Annie Fanny. I like that Hefner felt Kurtzman and Feiffer were worthy of getting their names on the cover with other contributors... comics & cartoons just didn't get that respect very often in the 60's.
  12. As Pat pointed out in the Weird Tales thread, today would have been REH's 116th birthday.
  13. I've always wondered how both DC and Fawcett wound up doing adaptations of "Destination Moon".
  14. No info. Very cool, though. I find it interesting that X-Men/ Teen Titans was apparently originally going to be a Marvel Super Special, rather than its own one-shot. #24 wound up being The Dark Crystal.
  15. Black cover is a pain in grade? I don't think there are any significant first appearances in the issue...
  16. Thank you for this. As I try to say every few months, I love this thread... I just almost never have anything useful to contribute.
  17. I don't even have any Planet Comics in my collection. Got a few Planet Stories, though:
  18. But, as others have said, the EC's are the top of the pile:
