  1. That's Golddust! Just like Andy without red pants. But with the nice gold lame suit and makeup instead.
  2. Kudos to thedude for a quickly shipped, nicely packed and as described Fight Against Crime 20.
  3. Thank you and Kudos to Goldust40 for being patient as I learn how to ship books overseas! You packaged them like an old pro, and books from the U.S. rarely reach me quicker than 4 days.
  4. Kudos to ComicDoc for two very nice and as described DC Silver Age books. Great packing, too.
  5. Glad it arrived safely and all praise appreciated (and yeah, living in a country where it never stops raining means I always make sure that packages are watertight and can survive against the elements).
  6. You mean like FF 110? Very good question. I'd've thought such an error (I've not seen one of those before, fwiw) would've been treated the same way. There are no structural problems to qualify the grade. I assume it could go for more than a regular Avengers 10 as it is rare - but the market is sometimes skewed regarding error books like this. FF 110 "green" version usually goes for a large premium, especially in high grade, whereas other books with similar "defects" do not. Maybe it's because it's still aesthetically eye-catching, but that's just a guess. Either way, great books - impressive how many have white pages. And that Cap 110 is the nicest (whitest) I've seen.
  7. Big kudos to the following board denizens, who once again have put ebay transactions in the shade... FoolKiller for two packages worth of great HG Silver Age Marvel and DC. More please. Kimik for a bunch of well packed and very nice Bronze Age Bats and Tecs. Kagemusha7s and Kahml for some speedily shipped Bronze and Silver pieces. All bang on. Excelsior!
  8. You and me both, Bob - I'm still kicking myself for not buying stuff from you (and a handful of other U.S. dealers) at 2005 and 2006 shows. The strong pound should've made me increase my spending twofold. As Brasseye has pointed out, the cycle of the most collected books (i.e. high grade early Silver Age Marvels) has shifted from 8 years to 4, and 2005 prices on many early Marvels in HG look like a bargain now. And that's at least partly attributable to GPA.
  9. Kudos to Araich and Xavier Logan for two seamless transactions and great GA books. This Forum is da best, as if that wasn't common knowledge...
  10. And the pompous, sanctimonious martinets must be perching atop their high horses, breaking out the same smug, deliberately inflammatory, attention - seeking judgements for the umpteenth time...
  11. Damn, greggy does it again - Ron Murry's stuff, I presume? I'm envious.
  12. Fantastic copy of a key Atom Age book. Very envious.
  13. I thought you'd've had those books in those grades already - they're a must have for any BA collector.
  14. Yes I know, but I still don't believe Alan Austin wouldn't have ever jumped at the chance to buy Action Comics 1 through 15. But what would have been the incentive of the fellow in the newspaper to lie, given that it was a topic that no one really cared much about in the early 1970s? Fandom in the U.K. may not have been as developed back then as it is now, but the early 1970s were a crucial period nevertheless. 1973 was the year when U.S. comics took off in the U.K., with the first speciality shops appearing, and people like Austin and Skinn starting fanzines and yes, even price guides. Within a year Stan Lee was at the Roundhouse in North London for the first U.K. Marvel Con. The buzz was definitely there, and collectors were very much interested in what old comics went for, especially those that were rarely seen in the U.K. up to that point. Good times...
  15. For the record, I know Alan quite well as he's a regular attendee at London shows. In my opinion he's one of the nicest guys in the business (although he mainly deals in books these days), with an unmatched knowledge of British comic fandom history.
  16. Fantastic book, with white pages, natch. Would definitely want to read that story...
  17. Kudos to Sterlingcomics for a speedily shipped Pac Coast HOM 189.
  18. Kudos to FoolKiller and October for some very nice Silver, Bronze and Atom Age pieces. Thanks, gents!!
  19. Who'd've thought that Hellblazer's resurrection of this thread would've led to such shenanigans....
  20. Yep. Even now I'm impressed not just at the scale of the collection, but the speed in which it was put together. Only a guy like Ian could've achieved that.
  21. Fantastic book - one of the best covers of the run.
  22. Kudos to johnenock for some accurately graded and immaculately presented high grade pre-code beauties, shipped in next to no time. I've said it before, but it's worth repeating - this place knocks spots off of ebay.
