  1. Although I prefer the surreal cover for #10, the colors on this ultra-visceral cover really pop. Doesn't hurt that it's yet another HG example of a scarce in any grade PCH book.
  2. Depends on how big it was when it started. Jack probably Big Head Todd and the Monsters One of my favorite PCH covers. What more could one ask for - a post-apocalyptic scene with a mushroom cloud in the distance and a floating shrunken head. Very atmospheric. First time I've seen a high grade copy of that book, too....
  3. I'd love to hear an update on the proceedings against Danny and how long it will be before he's put away. It'll be about the same time as the Great Crash.
  4. Beer, cars, pizza and real estate. See? A short sighted Virgo does not a good planner make. You complete me!
  5. It was Roy. He insists on talking about comics on this Forum. That's your answer for everything. Anyway, what were we discussing again?
  6. Only 1 of 2 and the last copy sold for $1500 so not that insane. Quiet, Frenchie. Sacre bleu! La plume de ma tante!!

  9. Probably the Sub-Mariner 35 and one of the two BA Subbys. Nice well-centered books....
  10. I was up late due to the Clink auction (I suspect you were too, David). I was at work, 1 bonus with working n/s, did you win anything? I didn't, but spent too much on ebay last month. Up early too huh? Always up early 'cause of the kids. Never get enough sleep generally. Won 6 Silver Age Marvels, mostly in 9.4 - nothing mega though. All those Rocky Mountains I was after, as you know, went ballistic in the last ten seconds. Yeah! Thor #195 RM, $ 1377 , too bad about the #171, maybe next time. So what did you win? The price on that 195 was indeed insane. I won ASM 77, 88 in 9.4, Avengers 48, Hulk 123, Iron Man 29 all in 9.4, Subby 35 in 9.4 and two later Subbys in 9.6. Was underbidder on a couple of the earlier TTAs. The TTA 57 went for double GPA....
  11. Nope. Like yours needs padding ? Nope. Are you not clinically insane? Nope. Ah, welcome to the club, Napoleon.

  14. Yep, those two labels were always coming out with off-the-wall product that still managed to be accessible.

  16. All right, where's everybody gone? Nobody here interested in padding their post count??
  17. I remember in the post-punk era there were many bands like Hot Chip, doing off-the-wall, slightly outre, dancey stuff like that - some had commercial success, many didn't, and have since been forgotten about. Not that HC are bad (in fact they're one of the few decent indie acts out there at the moment), just that back in the late 70s / early 80s the bar was higher.
  18. It's only a matter of time before I relinquish my place as second highest posting Brit boardie.
  19. The breakfast of champions is now microwaveable.
  20. By popular demand he's on a rather long vacation from here.
