  1. Yup, I bought them already...now to hunt that variant for the price you mentioned because that's outrageously cheap I'm one of those suckers for variants. I'm trying as best as i can to get all ASM's including variants (some will be near impossible though)
  2. Can you link me to them? I cant seem to find it on the site.
  3. Yup. There are 7 variants. The regular retail cost for the book is $7.99. That's almost $5,600 spent to get one 1:700. The other variants will also be going for about $1,500 raw. It's insane.
  4. Not sure but probably made out of $100 bills . I'm expecting to be paying ~2k for it.
  5. Yea i've spoken to the guy selling that one many times. He's been getting offers around 2k right now and not accepting them. I'm just trying to tell myself that this book isnt going to hold value much longer and i should jump on this and grab the 700 1:700 when it comes out, but id be taking a big gamble on if it would grade 9.8.
  6. Strongly considering listing my 9.8 copy on ebay finally...for some reason i want the 1:700 ASM 700 variant, so this might help me get the $ for it
  7. My run is most mid-high grade raw (7.0+). My modern run is pretty much all high-grade raw. Only key issues I have slabbed.
  8. I'm not sure yet. I think I'm going to wait out the current SS auction to see what happens. My thought is having a complete run of the core ASM is more important (valuable?) then hanging on to this one modern variant.
  9. I have one of the other 9.8's. I actually had 2 of the 9.8's but sold one to a boardie here about a month ago. Since I have a goal to complete my ASM run including all variants, part of me wants to keep it. However, not including variants, I am only about 20 ASM issues away from having a full core run, and i could sell this to fill in those gaps. I've looked at my 9.8 over and over and dont see a spine tick that jumps out, but the one i sold to a boardie does in fact have a couple noticable. My guess is that between the low run number we think this had, I also think many shops just tossed them on the shelves carelessly, causing slight damage to them. This the one i currently have: This is the one i sold to a boardie:
  10. My very first submission was the same exact USM 160 color sketch, and i also got a 9.8 blue
  11. Just got these back...good ole stan lee autographs from Wizard World Philly
  12. The lights that work on the detolfs are the actual ikea lights sold for them. They sell them in 4 packs for like $30.00 or something. I have 1 installed now, still need to install the others.
  13. Ikea...., the last 5 pages of the thread have been about them
  14. I have the light in my defolt, look at the picture i posted. Its in the one with the SW8. I didnt get around to doing the other just yet. The locks I bought online from a website. They require notching a small slit out in the wood. I have 4 locks. I'll be doing 2 per case (top and Bottom). I have the locks there because i host a lot of parties and cant always watch over the room and I allow people to look at my stuff.
  15. I moved both my display cases next to each other. Just a little re-org in the comic room
  16. Brock was awesome to work with on my first SA key purchase! I purchased an ASM #1 4.0 from Brock and everything went so smooth. This transaction based on the high price and type of book helps me know that there is someone I can look forward to working with that is trustworthy and cares about us collectors. Thanks again!
  17. I'm finally in! (Thanks Brock!). Just arrived now.
  18. I know everyone has their opinions and it's also their right to do whatever they want with the books, I would never give someone mess for doing it. It just hurts me every time I hit up a con an see someone toss a key to Stan lee to sign. He signs so much stuff and it's so commercial at the cons that it's not even a friendly/personal experience anymore. In a world where keys like ASM 1 and af15 are rare, having one unsigned and unrestored just adds so much more to the energy of holding/owning one.
  19. Does having Stan lee sign this book really help its collectibility and/or price? I just picked up a slabbed 4.0 of this and considered having him sign it at Philly comic con (had him Sign my AvX #1 1:200 and a copy of SW #8). I changed my mind when I realized exactly how much mess he signs. That and coupled with the fact that a key book like this, in my opinion, really should be left untouched.
  20. Any arts and crafts store. I got mine at Michaels and AC Moore out here on the North/East coast.
  21. Yup, I love it! I try to collect all ATime comics and watch the cartoon every week.
  22. Does this qualify? Not only is it 9.8 SS but it's also the only graded one (SS or not) on the census. Certification #:1115306001 SIGNED BY STEPHANIE BUSCEMA SHELLI PAROLINE & BRADEN LAMB ON 4/21/12
  23. they look like regular picture frame holders (some stores call them easels) I see them at Michael's all the time. yup. Michaels, AC Moore...etc.
  24. Couple options i found, but these cabinets are limited. 1.) Turn them so the door faces the wall 2.) http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/LOCK-IKEA-GLASS-DETOLF-DISPLAY-CABINET-/350339685063 3.) http://www.technologylk.com/product_view.aspx?product_ID=8565 4.) http://www.ebay.com/itm/GLASS-CABINET-LOCK-IKEA-DETOLF-ARGOS-DISPLAY-CABINET-/310395248509?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4844ff9f7d#ht_1400wt_1163
  25. Exactly...that's where I got them, Ikea. Always have a ton in stock and dirt cheap! I have 4 more in the box to build still. I have an entire other room about 4x the size of this one (its my man cave with a bar and stuff) that I will be making a continuation of my comic room over the coming days.
