  1. A few thoughts I have and wanted to share : Among the things that bug me are the CAF stores : You can't add art from those stores to your Favorite Artwork Galleries You can't comment the art (to tell the seller got the artist wrong for example) I can understand reasonning behind the latter, not the former. And there is a bug that makes it impossible to see artist with an hyphen in their first name in the Art By Artist your page (I signaled it)
  2. For 2000AD OA, you should look here : https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=28546.0
  3. You should use https://comicarttracker.com/ with various law-related keywords ... I tried with trial and found some interesting pieces like the trial of deathstroke.
  4. Did you ask Nick Percival ? http://nickpercival.daportfolio.com/about/ You should ask the 2000AD OA community : https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=tlc0oib3evlcalnuppr5lpkui4&topic=28546.4275
  5. Finally bought some strips ! All drawn by Mike Roy, two from Ken Winston and the last one from Nero Wolfe. Being a Rex Stout reader, I'm quite happy.
  6. Comic Box was a french magazine (published in newstands) dedicated to comics : https://www.comicsvf.com/fs/17597.php https://www.comicsvf.com/fs/18432.php http://www.comicbox.com/index.php/us-nous/
  7. I can't. Some pages are sold ... so ... not that optimistic I guess. And I'm far from an expert of the european OA market. It's a Blueberry page and Blueberry is very popular among the older generations, those is their 40s, 50s, 60s. And remember : if want to buy a published Blueberry page, there is something like ... 52 albums so 2.500 pages ... some do not feature Blueberry, and a lot are in black hole collections. I want to buy a Spider-Man page ... how many ? 1.000 pages a year ? Of course, pages from another series won't command the same price.
  8. I don't know if he will sell all the pages ... Even in our market, his prices are considered (too) high. The people who can afford it are the same that can afford Kirby, McFarlane, Ditko, ... the 1 %
  9. One of the cover of the Blueberry by Blain sold for 80 K € and another for 35 K. The pages for sale are here : https://www.barbiermathon.com/dotclear/index.php?category/LA-GALERIE-EXPOSE
  10. You can have a look at the french market at 2Dgalleries https://www.2dgalleries.com/ or the BDGest forum dedicated to original art : https://www.bdgest.com/forum/originaux.html and his US comics dedicated thread : https://www.bdgest.com/forum/avez-vous-des-planches-originales-de-comics-t16995-3960.html
  11. I, for one, am more interested in US comics, notably because of prices. But the french collectors (excluding the few US comics fans) are more interested in the artists published by the french publishers, with exceptions for some very well known US artists and those that are considered like "real artists" : Kirby, Mignola, Murphy, Ware ...
  12. Thats hard ... Let's say one of his book (Quai d'Orsay) had a movie adaptation and he is one of the few two-time winners of the Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album. I would say he some kind of Scott Murphy, for lack of better correlations.
  13. Regarding the Blueberry page. The French market value pages way more than the comics market, partly because of the slower rythm of production (hence pages are a scarce commodity), partly because we love "art". Moreover Blain is something of a superstar of the french comic book industry. The price may be optimistic, but not that much ...
  14. Frankly, I didn't have the time to look a all the pieces and vote ... One week was too short.
  15. My two cents : The eligilibity price includes auction taxes, but should exclude shipping and local taxes (customs, VTA, ...). What must be considered is the minimum price everybody could have paid to own the art, without geographical discriminations.
  16. Unpublished too : Marvel Girl by Maxime Garbarini https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1586398
  17. Unpublished : Barrayar (unpublished cover for Lois McMaster Bujold book) by Mark Salwowski https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1568558
  18. That's a thread for me since all my art is worth less than 500 $ Here are my entries: Published : Gyro Gearloose and other Disney science related characters (I believe it was published but don't know where) by Daan Jippes https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1586408
  19. I had to look it up at Wikipedia but yes he was, although unrecognizable.
  20. Almost the some goals than in 2019 : - A nice X-Men/Batman/Spider-Man page - A Perez/Davis/Wieringo page - A Crossgen (Negation or Ruse) or Wildstorm (Majestic, StormWatch, Wildcats, Jet, Gen-Active ...) page - A comic strip - A page from a fumetti and one from a manga, - Frame some pieces, - Maybe commission a piece or two (that would be a first for me) As always, the key is finding art that matches my tastes and my (small, by the forum standards) budget ...
  21. A nice looking painted book cover (thriller, action, science-fiction) : done, although it's an unpublished one, but for a book by an author I enjoy. A good X-Men/Batman/Spider-Man page : nope ... A Perez/Davis/Wieringo page : had an opportunity for Davis, but decided against it ... still thinking about a Wieringo page I saw on the web but still not sure it's the one for me (I waited too long a few years ago about a Spider-Man page by Wieringo and a few minor pages by Perez and it still stings). A Crossgen (Negation or Ruse) or Wildstorm (Majestic, StormWatch, Wildcats) page : nope ... A comic strip : It may happen in 2020, there is one that keeps popping on ebay and that matches my tastes ... A page from a fumetti : nope .... But I bought a Disney illustration featuring Gyro Gearloose, two Star Wars related pages by Stéphane Roux, my first Magic The Gathering related art (four painted panels from a canonical webcomic published by WOTC) and a Legion of Super-Heroes page by Barry Kitson. So it was a good year.
  22. Alexis Denisof as Wesley Wyndam-Pryce from Angel, a spin-off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I liked the character when I created the avatars I use on various forum.
  23. Mycroft is my usual username. I took it from Sherlock Holmes brother.
