I spent two hours clearing out my driveway, shoveling out my walkway and porch, and ensuring that my mailbox was completely clear so the postal carrier would have no impediments to delivering the package I was expecting today. The carrier never even bothered coming by at all and marked the tracking as "No access". I guess he just didn't feel like delivering today.

That's a good idea. If I have one goal for 2021 it's to exercise more purchasing discipline, to ensure that my collection is completely funding itself.

I'm not saying you're wrong or that I even disagree with your philosophy on the matter but this is the PL discussion where there is one of two logical outcomes if you pursue: he either sells you the book or goes on the list until some kind of resolution is reached. I've had buyers and sellers back out of deals over the years, including some BSD dealers, for various reasons. I shrug and move on. I'm not interested in completing transactions when bad feelings are involved. Yours was a pretty specifically unique circumstance that I do not believe falls into the black and white rules of the sales forum. Just my opinion.

What's your desired outcome with this? Coercing the would-be seller into selling you the book? I'm guessing your post killed that possibility. Put him on the probation list? You approached him and made him an offer out of the blue to which he expressed reluctance. I understand that a deal is a deal but this is more nuanced than if the seller offered the book in a sales thread. He was just minding his own business and now he'll probably have to deal with a potential PL nomination. You want my advice? Let it go. It's not like AF 15s are hard to find.
