  1. Gotta disagree there. I saw Captain EO in January and it's fantastic. No fake. That Yeates is truly inspired work, Rich. Well, good that you liked it. But I think it looks weird (thumbs u

  3. What happened to the last few posts in this thread? Stupid maintenance. Anyway, Sean I read your post before it disappeared. You make a good point. Much to think about. EDIT: Gah! Now the posts show up! It's crazy in here.
  4. So I was thinking of bringing that Alan Moore with me to Boston to add a Wrightson sig. However, I know one of the "rules" is to only add sigs from creators that actually worked on the particular comic. So does that mean Wrightson is a no-go? What's the general opinion on having the character's (co)-creator signing the book even though he didn't work on it? Related, what about Swamp Thing 33, which has a cover homage to Wrightson's House of Secrets 92? People, guide me.
  5. Dude, I am truly sorry for what happened with that MM 14.
  6. Totleben-signed Swamp Thing 47 CGC SS 9.8. Bought WAY too many STs the last few weeks and want to pare down. The price listed is my special "ebay sucks" price. Open to board offers, including trades http://www.ebay.com/itm/140713298225?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  7. Gah! Awesome book. One of my grails is grabbing a Sakai CGC SS sign and sketch.
  8. This. I have an MM 15 that whispers to me in the middle of the night, telling me that it feels cold and naked without its Totleben sign and sketch clothing.

Great transaction all around on a nice book at a nice price.
  10. Thanks! I think I paid about $430 so I didn't get royally screwed or anything.
  11. Okay, so my X-Men 1 is fully graded: 1.0 Restored SP, Cover trimmed/married, Signed by Jack Kirby on first page. Can anyone take a stab at what the FMV on what such a book might be? I'm wondering if the price I paid for it last summer is fair or not.
  12. Ha. Just playing. That was the first thing that jumped to mind when I read that. I wonder how many Art of Chew sketchbooks there are actually are... Well, if you think about it, even if it's (not saying it is or isn't), even if it was 1000...the the greatest GI Joe cover of all times in foil version, is still rock n' roll Mos def. It's an awesome cover. I really like those Snake Eyes head sketches Zeck does.
  13. My only consolation is that the first page is signed by Kirby so at least I have that.
  14. Just got the notes on my low grader I sent in to CGC: "Apparent SP, Cover Trimmed/Married". I feel like puking.
  15. I'm still pretty new around here but my impressions thus far are that this an environment that promotes free enterprise. The seller can ask whatever price he wants, fully disclosing the AV4's flaws, and it's up to the educated masses on these boards to decide if that book and price interests them. No one is being forced to buy anything.
  16. Dramatic. He could have easily fit a tiny little Cap in Lincoln's beard. I've seen that done millions of times. Billions, even.
  17. personally, I would not slab it...if you ever chose to sell, raw will get you the same price, and you won't have the cgc expense (thumbs u Therefore, my decision to slab is... ...NO! Thanks!
  18. Dear Gator, I possess exactly one GA book. It is a copy of Atlas/Timely's Battlefield #4. It's probably in, oh, 7.0 condition. I love the cover immensely and figure it doesn't have much resale value (there doesn't seem too much demand for war comics). Think it's worth slabbing despite it's presumed lack of fiscal value? This isn't a scan of my book but here's a cover repro:
  19. May as well toss mine on the pile (while I still have it). It's signed by Jack Kirby on the front page.
