  5. Sakai would be thrilled to draw Groo since it's a property he enjoys and it's created by his good friend. Similarly, Kevin Eastman enjoys drawing Usagi or Daredevil or Batman or many other characters besides TMNT. Do artists not enjoy drawing new things, and apply their own creativity to requests other than the same character(s) again and again? In my experience they definitely do. If it's a character or concept they aren't comfortable drawing they can always decline and suggest something else. I'm not asking this to @Bronty specifically; just using his message to discuss the point rhetorically.

  7. Eventually those assignments and commission requests go away, and he'll have plenty of time to reflect on how he responded to the people looking to give him money for his art.

Clever dealers Clever dealers go to those celebrity-focused shows with a healthy stock of various-sized toploaders, preferably situated near the signing area, and rake in the mad stacks as people come streaming out, clutching their prized autographed picture of their favorite celebrity-of-the-month and realize they spent $150 on it but now need it protected. The malodor is unavoidable though. It's the cost of business.
  9. I enjoyed the Eniac series but quickly tired of the hurdles needed to get books, lost interest in the line, and kind of stopped thinking about Bad Idea altogether.
  10. I've been of the belief that QC uses a sampling method, checking only every ten or twenty books or whatever but your theory is a good one.
