  1. My point is that I wasn't given a choice on my submission paperwork. It was FedEx or nothing. That's my complaint. The customer's personal choice has been eradicated from the equation. Yeah. I effed up, as you so eloquently pointed out. But a great company would work to satisfy the customer. I made a perfectly rational request to have the book rerouted, and my request was flatly denied. I'm not expecting CGC to maintain liability if I sign off on it. Same with FedEx. As for the "yellow instructions" what else am I supposed to do when FedEx won't leave a delivery attempt notice?
  2. SImply put...I'm bad at comics as an investment. I go where my heart takes me.
  3. Spawn. I used to own them all in 9.8. No. Seriously. 1-330. All 9.8. 14 or so 9.9s. Even the turbo rare 185 BW. It was epic and there will never be another Spawn collection to match it. #BRAGPOST Wish I would have held on a bit longer before selling the collection, but I never expected to see such an inflation.
  4. So, after taking a look at the form the CGC wants me to fill out, it looks like it could take up to ten days for the changes to take effect. They also can't guarantee the changes will be made for submissions already in progress. Looks like I'll have to carve out an hour of my work day to call the CGC again.
  5. ...and I saw that someone had paid six figures for a 9.8 copy? WHAT was that person smoking? Man...I could have gotten one for around 10K a little over a decade ago, IIRC. I always wanted a NM copy, but I kept putting off for years. Now that ship has sailed. No way I could justify the current price on that. I've waited for the bubble to pop for years, but it keeps getting bigger. Shows how little I know?
  6. I haven't read other responses, yet, but the first two that come to mind are IH 181 and ASM 300. There are tens of thousands of copies. The demand will always be super high, but it doesn't justify the massive price bubbles. Let's face it, if you want a copy and have the money, you can find a copy 24/7. There are just too many of them to justify the price. Both are definitely massively important books...but come on. I still have no idea why 181 has taken off like a rocket ship. It's not even the first appearance of Wolverine.
  7. I remember the days when Matt Nelson would do the pressing himself. I prefer the work done by some of our very own boardies.
  8. To make things better, just got home and checked... FedEx didn't leave any sort of card indicating an attempted delivery. I guess they also missed the giant neon yellow note that I left on the door. What a fecal circus.
  9. My main argument is that I should have a CHOICE like I was given in the past. The book is in the 4 figure range, to answer an earlier question. Why didn't I put an alternative address at the time I submitted? I didn't think it was allowed. Oversight on my part that will never happen again. If I prefer RM and I'm willing to pay for it, why can't I go that route? That is what is ASININE about this whole process. Also seeing a huge drop in customer service. I was put on hold for 20 minutes. That never happened to me back in the day. If this is the new CGC, I might tap out.
  10. Just called CGC. Sure enough, the FedEx didn't follow my instructions to deliver at the backdoor. So, they missed the note I left for them. Just called CGC and guess what? They no longer re-route packages. They told me I would have to wait until it is returned to CGC in FLA. Then, I will have to fill out an electronic form to request delivery to another address. They won't even re-route it to a FedEx drop off/pick up point. CGC can BITE me. Frustrating. Ridiculous. All the words...
  11. Been a while since I've subbed a book. I wasn't too happy to find that USPS Registered Mail was no longer an option. Neither was UPS. I was forced to use FedEx Ground. Of course the book is due to be delivered on a day when I won't be home. Signature required. The worst part is that I cannot manage the delivery online. I get the following message: Due to shipper restrictions, additional delivery options are not available for this shipment. For more information please contact the shipper. Back in the day, I could have the package rerouted to a different location, or I could sign electronically. Why would CGC do away with these conveniences? Will the FedEx leave some sort of card for me to sign or a number to call? This is absolutely ridiculous. Am I missing something? CGC is closed for the holiday, so I have no idea what to expect next week.
  12. The color on that Planet 40 is simply remarkable! Buy the book, not the grade.
  13. Also, it has 15 likes! Also, the action seems to have slowed here compared to your early days.
  14. You aren't missing anything. I just think all the high rollers here already have one (there have been quite a few traded here) or have moved to another focus. Looks like a great copy! Haven't checked the data on sales, however, so I can't really comment on the price.
  15. What are the grades on the Maximum Carnage set? Thanks!
  16. One of these hit a bid of around $350 on eBay. Didn't meet the reserve. Item was in the UK. If anyone wants this for $375 shipped to the USA, then let me know. I suspect it's worth more, but I'll roll with the latest info. Not in a hurry to sell this rare item. I'll be pulling it soon.
  17. Ehh...looks like someone found a few 212s. They are on the census. But the one I truly think is impossible is 156.
  18. That's one of the toughest stretches for sure. Good luck on 156. Impossible to find in 9.8. So is 212.
  19. Truly massive. My run won the 2018 Registry Awards for the best in Modern Age. Shortly after winning I broke up the collection and sold it. The money was nice, but I regret it. I really, really do. There will never again be another Spawn run like this one: FILES OF MAMMON SPAWN COLLECTION
  20. It's a trick I learned back when I was subbing books for my own Spawn run. The more tools you have in your "grading toolbox" the better!
  21. PS... based on your pics, a 9.2 to a 9.4 at best.
