  1. SOLD Please accept my apologies for the photographs. My scanner is out of commission at the moment. The colors are pretty good on this copy!
  2. FOR SALE - Blue Circle 6 - CGC Universal Grade of 6.5 (Fine +) with Off-white to white pages. FROM THE JON BERK COLLECTION Gerber rarity index - 8 (RARE - estimated 11-20 copies). Special notation: may not exist There are five graded copies on the census, including Berk's book. Interesting book. I have copied and pasted the following information directly from Mycomicshop.com "Contents do not match cover. The sixth issue of this run consisted of a new cover used to recover different remaindered comics dating from the late 1940's to early 1950's and several variations exist. This variation contains the remaindered comic - Martin Kane - Private Eye #nn - and it was re-covered by the publisher, Rural, without page 1 of the first story. This was probably intended to be the third issue of the Martin Kane (1950 Fox) series, but it was never published. It includes the following Martin Kane stories: "Case of the Royal Rubies", "Ballad of Death", & "The King of Blackmail", plus a 2 page detective text story." MCS The word "rare" is overused in our hobby, but the term is legitimate when applied to this hen's tooth. I sold a lower grade copy to a boardie several months ago. Outside of that copy and this one, I've never seen another. There are two "variants" of this issue. Who knows which one is the rarest? In this case, it really doesn't matter. You'll have a hard time finding another. PICTURES AND PRICE COMING SOON.
  3. I live out in the middle of BFE, but we recently got fiber gig-speed Internet through a grant. I can hit over 1,000 MBPS when I'm hooked directly into the router. Fortunately for some, the bottleneck happens to be in my wallet, not my connection.
  4. That's actually leagues above "spinner rack condition" which makes it even more unbelievable. I'd be hard pressed to find a modern era 9.8 copy of anything off the shelves at my LCS, let alone a book that's older than my dad, who is pushing 70.
  5. I will allow Takebot to take. I'm holding out for a 9.9 copy, but it's a beauty nonetheless.
  6. Of all the amazing sales threads I've seen here over the past 10 years or so, this is one of the most amazing in every way. INCREDIBLE!
  7. Yes. It is extremely unrealistic to submit 30 comics and expect a 10....or even a 9.9 As others have already pointed out, they are statistically rare. And don't let people tell you there is no difference in a 9.8 or a 9.9 or a 10. There is. Now. Are they worth the price premiums? That's for everyone to decide on their own. I used to lay down the heavy premiums for 9.9s (I owned around 16 at one time) but it was a foolish mistake, in retrospect. EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I have subbed hundreds of books. I've never gotten a 9.9 or a 10.0. I even purchased unopened Diamond Distributor boxes full of early Spawn issues. I went through hundreds and cherry picked. No luck on my subs. I wrote a whole thread about this in my CGC journal before the board overlords (idiotically, IMHO) decided to change the journal format without listening to the screams of everyone begging them to go back. They moved my journals to god knows where.
  8. I'm setting a timer for 60 minutes. Then the thread will close for good. During this time, take an extra 5% off the prices listed at the bottom of page one! Nuts!
  9. Woke up this morning in the mood to sell. Throwing the dice on these. If they don't sell by Monday morning, they will stay in the vault for a long time. What's meant to be is meant to be and all that. These are super cheap. No further price reductions. ***Please see previous posts for pictures*** RECAP WITH UPDATED PRICES: $615 SHIPPED TO THE USA - Blue Bolt Vol. 2 #11 - CGC 7.5 (VF-) cream to off-white pages SOLD - Punch Comics 14 GC 2.0 (good) cream to off-white pages. 10. I bought a stack of Iron Man comics from Jeff in a recent thread, and everything turned out great! The comics were packaged very well and the grading was accurate (near mint range as advertised). I'm quite happy, as these are beautiful, fresh books that look fantastic in hand. My only regret is missing out on more. I hope we can do business again.
  11. Final I looked at my records and there is actually still a little bit of room for negotiation on all books. I’m closing the thread early tomorrow morning, so if you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate to shoot me an offer. I’m not the type to get offended when it comes to negotiation.
  12. Since Rocket Kelly 5 sold, I'm willing to move my copy of the second issue. Not as rare as number five, but still not something you see all the time. Rocket Kelly 2 - CGC 7.0 (F/VF) off-white pages. Please note the miswrap. $200 SHIPPED TO THE USA!
  13. Willing to entertain offers on the Blue Bolt before I take her down. Don't feel shy. If you're on the fence, talk to me today!
  14. These are sweet, people. The ones we got have pockets for disposable filters. They are my three-year-old's daily driver. She loves them, and so do we!
