  1. I also got into an argument with Erik Larsen over social media. Some people can't handle the truth!
  2. I met Steranko. Very interesting guy. He's kind of a like a walking comic book - a guy from another place and time. Very nice, but he doesn't like it when your wife pulls out the camera for a pic.
  3. I think the prejudice against Brock is a problem here. I suggest that you at least read the entire thread before placing a vote. This is a unique, complicated decision that needs to be carefully considered. It's not a popularity poll for Brock.
  4. My favorite is when someone charges you for fast track grading and sits on the book for two or three months as he compiles invoices for one big sub.... then loses his temper when you call him out about it. Probation worthy? Maybe not. But certainly bad enough to warrant going elsewhere. It's been mentioned before - membership on the PL does not bar people from doing business here. But everyone should remember that everyone has their own personal lists...and that every cent you lose matters in the end. Problem is that most people are afraid to speak up or call someone out because they are afraid of losing out on a deal or a particular book or some sort of perceived favoritism.
  5. At this point, 22 boardies think that it is acceptable for someone to back out of a deal by "losing" a book. Unbelievable. We're on our way to setting quite the precedent. Remember that the seller has already been given several, simple solutions in regards to removing himself from the PL. He's failed on every occasion. Praise GEEzus.
  6. We've been over this ad nauseam. He's been given several opportunities already, all of them simple solutions. People are free to go back and dissect the discussions.
  7. Better to forget about him as he wastes away in a cell, where he belongs.
  8. Just remember, a vote to remove him from the list is a vote that says "It's okay to 'lose' a book if you need to back out a deal." Think about the precedent you are setting with you vote.
  9. No need to apologize! I was very happy with your service, and I understand that some print runs are very tough. I hope you are doing well!
  10. I like the cauldron...maybe some simple "steam" or "flame" coming out of the top...and a different font. Not a fan of the font...but we're a thousand miles from where we started.
  11. I've never approached collecting as an investment or a vehicle for profit... but I recently sold the bulk of my huge collection to fund the purchase of more valuable comics, which now sit in a single box.
  12. Nah...I say let the gods at CGC decide for everyone.
  13. But what about the Bethlehems, for example? Dust shadows on many of the books...F to VF condition on many of them... I've seen lots of older peds with these same issues..where hardly any hit the NM range. I guess it depends on the definition of "high grade"?
  14. Indeed...which is why I vastly favor the "good ole days."
  15. Serious question here with no foul intent... why? Please explain.
  16. I will! I have one super nice one...and three other interesting ones, which I love. I'm not too deep into the pedigree game yet, so it won't cost a fortune to upgrade. I absolutely love pedigrees though!
  17. Yes. I am a sucker. TAKE MY MONEY I MUST HAVE THE LATEST AND GREATEST SLABS AND LABELS!
  18. Gotcha. Well, that relieves the sting a little bit.
  19. Rick would hook me up, but I've only had to ask his opinion once.
