  1. Funny, I was just thinking about how I would have spent the past two days in my underwear buying almost everything in this particular thread...had I won the megamillions. Hats off to the biggest, craziest sales thread I've ever witnessed!
  2. Don't worry. They will gladly take your money! Just be patient! I have an invoice from the following day (11/6) and I haven't been billed either. I wish I could give you a cut and dry answer, but they will generally bill you whenever they get around to it. Good luck and welcome to the boards!
  3. Great topic Rick! WIthout too much tossing and turning about it, here are my faves by genre if we're talking Golden/Atomic books: - Science Fiction: Captain Aero Comics 26 - Robot Cover: Startling Comics 49 - Horror Comic: Haunt of Fear 17 - War Cover: Superman 23 - Skull Cover: Captain America Comics 74 - Romance: Popular Teen-Agers 10 - Bondage: Suspense Comics 3 - GGA: All Top Comics 16 - Overall Brutality: Vault of Horror 37 - Superhero: Detective Comics 31
  4. Yep. I just noticed this and was wondering the same.
  5. if it's 10% off $235. I think I'm reading things correctly? If not, I'm good.
  6. I can agree with this, actually. I guess I'd just like to see a little more kindness in the world. I still wonder...if this behavior bothers people, then why even respond to it? Seems like a bigger waste of time to kick up dirt when it's not really necessary. Just hit the back button on the browser and find another thread.
  7. ..and Kav...what exactly was the kid "SHOUTING" about? He asked a simple question, and even said please. And everyone at some point had a first post. Why drive them away right off the bat? How is our community supposed to grow? A little kindness goes a long way.
  8. I agree in 99% of cases, but it should be pretty clear that we are dealing with a middle school or high school student (at best) who was politely asking for honest advice and help on a school project. Then someone had to make the thread about ME ME ME... shame, because I really enjoyed hearing everyone's stories. Beating up on a kid with honest questions and totally derailing the thread is the kind of behavior that is NOT welcome in this community. Sorry. Usually, I shake my head and move on...but I'm not going to sit here and stand by while someone with no self-esteem takes it out on a kid needing to complete a school project. Two cents is constantly stirring the pot. Almost every post is antagonistic. He's added nothing to the boards. Thank God for the ignore function.
  9. Been here for seven years without a strike. I'll gladly take my first one telling you exactly how I feel about your routine. So go ahead. Find that button and hump it. Perhaps one day you'll learn how to actually contribute something positive. Fingers crossed buddy. ADDIO!
  10. Congratulations on being human cancer. People like you are what's wrong with the world. *blocked*
  11. I'm wondering the same. Why so rude and combative? You realize that the OP is probably just a young kid, right??? Coming here asking for help and then he crudely responds. If you don't have anything nice to say "TwoPiece" then find something else to do with your time. Your energy sucks.
  12. Supposed to be 2mm thick. They feel awful floppy for Mylar. Doesn't feel like the Gerber product at all. I thought they were supposed to be the same, just rebranded? I'm comparing them to Mylites2s BTW. I'm wondering if I should send these back and go with the Gerber product instead.
  13. Not sure if you're trying to be funny or not. But no. With macular degeneration, blindness begins with a gray spot at the center of your vision. Over the years, the gray spot expands and will eventually encompass your entire perspective, rendering you totally blind.
  14. For perspective, he was almost in his 80s when the CGC first began!
  15. Those of you criticizing the placement of Stan's sigs in the later years, keep in mind that you are talking about a nonagenarian (!!!!) with macular degeneration. I'm sure he didn't let on much about it, but it's highly doubtful that he could even see what he was signing. I'm sensitive to this because the chances of me developing the same issue are very, very high if I'm fortunate enough to live that long, and I certainly don't expect to.
  16. After years spent building insanely tough runs and accumulating almost 500 slabs, I am definitely trying out the "one-box" approach. Since I am focused on Golden and Atomic age books and work with a finite amount of cash, it's actually quite easy. I much prefer a few dozen rare, old, and valuable books over a room full of "lesser" issues. It's much easier to breathe now, and my collection consists of books I am truly passionate about. Run collecting requires you to acquire books that you don't really like, simply to fill a hole in the registry or a spreadsheet. I recently sold two super cool and fairly expensive books to acquire a grail. So I'm liking the idea of acquiring awesome books and selling them to nab even AWESOMER books! I like the discipline to this approach, because it forces you to be ultra-selective,,.it also frees you up to go grail hunting. I love the idea, and I love the space savings...and as mentioned by another poster, it's much easier to track and maintain your books. I can get my books out of the house in less than a minute if necessary...I can keep a better eye on them...easier to share and enjoy. A truly massive slab collection can be....anxiety provoking, in my experience.
  17. I hope that this POS (J&J) gets sued until he has to eat his own teeth. Disgusting.
  18. There is a difference in self-made wealth and predatory wealth...perhaps not in the number of zeroes, but definitely in regards to morality.
  19. If I am not mistaken, didn't PPP beat the stuffing out of DD once...and a few other marque characters as well?
  20. I totally get it. I just don't think this situation (a debate) is as egregious as trying to make a buck from it.
