    That’s a lot of emails defending this book. No one’s attacking your family. So I wouldn’t get worked up because someone has a different opinion than you. It is a comic book that I believe is over valued. If it turns out I’m wrong I’ll be happy to admit it.

    After the price drop for the 8.0 on comiclink I would expect a significant drop.

    It could maybe be good. I’m hesitant to say it looks good after the last movie, but I’m hopeful based on the trailer.

    Do the rights to the characters ever revert back to Gold Key?

    I would think more likely the original Gold Key/Dell series, but who knows. I guess it will depend on if they can attract readers.

    No unfortunately last publisher that licensed the properties was Dynamite. Not sure when that license expired. It was through Valiant in the 90s that I was introduced to the characters.

    Good news! I hope they are able to release new series for Magnus, Turok, and Solar.

    I never said it wasn’t any of those things. However minimal chipping to you does not mean the same thing to me. There are plenty of other copies to choose from and no need to settle.

    I didn’t think it was a good looking copy honestly. The chipping kept me from bidding. As you said though SuperBird, in line with GPA. I mistakenly thought it would sell for less though because of the chipping.

    I can’t see it dropping any where near that far, but I have to agree it is way over priced.

    Shadroch, thank you for the advice. This may be a dumb question, but is it safe to pay using a personal check. I guess I’ve always felt comfortable with a credit card or PayPal as you have recourse where you don’t with a check. I don’t know what I need to worry about with an auction house, but I just want to make sure I ask others who have more experience here. I may be overthinking this.

    All, looking for advice on what payment options are used by others for books greater than $10k. My buying up until now has been less than that and I have used PayPal or a credit card. CL requires a check or wire transfer at this price.

    I’m not looking at GPA, but 9.6’s often go for less than half the price of a 9.8. What is the current price for a 9.6? It’s not $120k. Nor will it be after this sale. Let’s say a 9.4 then for the sake of the argument. I like Ghost Rider. I have since the 1990’s series, but that price is great for the seller, not so great for the buyer.

    I know to the person who bought it $264k is probably not much, but that is a house. You could buy a 9.6 for a small fraction of the price and wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

    Exactly. That movie shows a good story can still be told for these franchises. Let’s see what they do with the Alien TV show. I’m not expecting much, but maybe they’ll surprise us.
