  1. For me, it would depend on what he did for the company. At Valiant he took a dormant property that had seen its best years pass it by and brought a passion back to the property, brought in a bunch of great talent, most of which followed him out the door. The fact the talent all walked to continue to work with him is telling to me. Having said that, if he had poisoned the company, screwed over his creators, took advantage of his fans, then he would be owed no loyalty. That is not who he is though. He is a fan first and foremost. He put his time and money into something that none of us have done and he has always been very generous to the fan base. If we were talking about fastballspecial instead of Dinesh and you had carried yourself in the same manner, I would show you the same loyalty. I get not everyone loves what Bad Idea has done so far, but this is a challenging time to start a new company and they are trying something different, right or wrong. If it’s not for you, no problem, but I am looking forward to seeing what they can do.
  2. I’m focusing only on a few specific books for my collection. I’m willing to pay slightly above GPA, but at these prices I’ll pass. I already decided the time for me to pick up a X-Men #1 has come and gone. I only missed it by about half a year, but I don’t need it that bad in my collection.
  3. I’m with you there as well. Certain defects don’t bother me as much as others. For me it is obviously dependent on the grade of the book. For a 9.6 it should present nicely. I’m not the owner though so if they are happy then that’s what matters.
  4. The front cover on that was a mess. That is a pet peeve of mine when the pages show under the cover. Not sure what that defect is called.
  5. Anyone who was a Valiant fan during Dinesh’s time at the company knows how good he and Valiant were to fans. That and the talent means I will support Bad Idea through a lot. I’m not going to chase any of the exclusive books, but I will purchase every book they put out on a monthly basis. I believe Dinesh has earned that loyalty.
  6. It is sad that some people’s lives are so empty this is how they express themselves. I would hope they don’t have children. i hope this movie does well. Like or dislike his movies, he is passionate about his work.
  7. Why now though? The last several months have seen unbelievable gains. What has changed. We’ve known about X-men coming back to Marvel for a long time now. What about all the other books, Spider-Man, fantastic four, etc.
  8. I don’t really get that kind of hate for someone you’ve never met. I’ve really enjoyed some of his movies and others I just found ok. They sure didn’t make me wish death on his family members. Not sure how someone makes that jump.
  9. It’s not just this book. It is keys, semi-keys. Many have seen 50% jumps since December. I’m completely confused by it. Look at uncanny X-men #266 CGC 9.8. It is nearing $1000.
  10. Well said. I also do not begrudge anyone who makes money, but anyone who thinks this is anything but a house of cards, well good luck to them.
  11. I have several complete sets of the series 1 set and lots of extras. I’m not unique. There is nothing rare about these cards or even these cards in high grade. They just weren’t worth submitting until now. I expect to see some talk about what an untapped market this is and why these cards will continue to hold value... until the market is flooded and we watch the value collapse. Good luck to those that pay these prices or pay to have their cards submitted.
  12. This isn’t going to end well for a lot of people who are already late to the game.
  13. I thought the first one was entertaining. The spinoffs not as much.
  14. And there is nothing wrong with that, but to have submitted these books for grading, he knows what they are worth.
