Well look who's birthday it is!

It's probably been discussed already, but how is WD #53 such a cheap book at the moment?? If Abraham, Rosita and Eugene are going to be in the show anywhere near as long as in the books, I think the time to buy is now since prices have gone down a bit.
Time to buy was in 2010 when that book in 9.8 was $60...

I'm going into full on campaign mode. I have ZERO idea how this book isn't lighting it up. Anyone else a big fan? Four pages deep?? Really?
-
Pretty dull episode, IMHO.
They sure like to drag stuff out.
Peace,
Chip
I know we're entitled to our own opinions, but I legit just can't understand how I can watch this episode and think it was from start to finish, one of the better ones of the past two seasons, and others thought it was a snoozefest. The plot development. The expansion of them shooting on a set that isn't in the middle of the woods. The 60 minute overview on who Carol started out as and who she is now (sight be my favorite character on the show).
That, plus they are on Beth's tracks?! I would actually love to know why someone didn't like this episode. Like, please, explain it.

Hey-- no poo pooing Southern Bastards. Great book!

If Migos were on the cover this would go for four figures.
Sheeeeeeeeeiiiiiitttttt
Migos > The Beatles / Cap

Out of all the gimmicks out there, this is the one that gets your undies in a bunch? C'mon...

Just read #2. Such a creepy book. Digging it.

Carl is so fed up.

Bestselling artists Jamie McKelvie (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, Young Avengers) and Matthew Wilson (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE) team up to lend their artistic interpretation to a series of covers for six highly anticipated new launches and critically acclaimed series’ new story arcs coming from Image Comics this December.
Carl Grimes with lipstick?

#FREENEGAN
One of these days. Maggie is going to say hello for Glenn.
The payoff for that death better be incredible.

Enjoyable issue...
Could be interesting if Rick thinks putting Carl in a cell will buy him time to figure out what to do.
Maybe Negan would have a shot at convincing Carl they need to escape, in Carl's case for Rick's sake, and then go their seperate ways. They would both need to escape so it didn't look like Rick had given his son a way out.
Can't see Carl ever befriending Negan or trusting him though, even if Rick's initial reactions / judgements about what Carl did are not favourable and seemingly opposed to Negan's. It would take a hell of a fall out and something like Negan saving Carl's life for anything like that to remotely have a chance of becoming something people would swallow.
Could go lots of other places though.
I'm REALLY EXCITED
to see which one of the main characters' faces these guys end up skinning and wearing. (so long, Zeke)

I'm buying into the fact that there are a bunch of zombies trying to eat everyone, so I just sort of suspend disbelief and let the story present itself.

Maybe I'm taking Key to mean BUY AS MANY COPIES AS POSSIBLE AND SELL SELL SELL. Key in terms of his character development, sure. Definitely not key in terms of value, though.
BKV, Scott Snyder and a few others always get the "brilliant writer" love, but MAN Kirkman is making me feel like I'm reading 1-48 again.
-
I'm sorry y'all, but I just don't see it. 127, sure. But 134? Nah.
-
Great issue
It was but I fail to see what it was a key issue.
Yeah-- I mean, I get why he said it (if I owned a shop, EVERY issue would be key), but if you're looking to buy a first appearance, it'd be an issue ago when the big unveil happened.

Walking Dead #134
KEY issue.
MAJOR character development.
That is all.
SPOILERS!!!!
Character development, yes. But I wouldn't go with key. And I know they announce their name, but there were full on appearances, references, etc of "The Whisperers" in the past few issues.
Also-- DAMMIT KIRKMAN WHERE IS MICHONNE. SEVEN ISSUES AND BARELY A MENTION YOU ARE KILLING ME OHFIHFHW30FU30D-4t845gewkknrbknq
SOLID issue. Can't wait to see the art, too.

Looks like James just snagged that early page from issue 9. I was in for around $900, but i think 1125 is very fair. Congrats.
I stayed away from the last three early pages a few weeks ago.......
Did you pick any up?
Think I'm moving back to the WD comic collecting section for a while....
Before I have to sell the kids
No-- my focus now is worthwhile early Adlard art. There's a page i'm pursuing now, but I thought tonight's was a solid page from a memorable moment in the book. There are guys who are just never letting go of top adlard early art apparently...

I have a few back from Michaels. I use the method espoused by Jeffrey Jones on early comicart-l: white border and simple black frame to let the eye be drawn to the art and the art only.
This is the one I picked up tonight:
Dr. Strange - Mike Mignola
Nice piece, I would have recommend a black mat with a v groove. The white is a little distracting for this particular piece.
Ummmm...

Today, right?

I can deal. That's an awesome statue.
