  1. After the VCC is over, either late Sunday or Monday I'll be listing a sales thread putting up my entire collection for sale. Highlights include Marvel Mystery 1-10, AF 15, FF 1, FF 2 CGC 9.2, More Fun 52 up, Adventure Comics 40-44, Action Comics 2 up, Detective Comics 31, 35, 38 & more.
  2. I'm going to be listing a thread for cheap GA, SA, and BA (some keys some not) Sunday night at 6 to 7 PM EST. Some actions, some all stars, some SA #1s. All affordable copies. Everything is going to be priced to sell fast.
  3. I hope I am in the right thread for this. But I had an idea for a For Sale thread and wanted to get some opinions. (I got the idea from a game show the other night ) I'm currently looking for ways to sell off some of my collection without having to resort to eBay. If I started a game on the boards, where the purchase price is listed first, and then I keep listing books in the thread until the first person posts would anyone be interested in participating or does that sound stupid? Thanks
  4. I'm going to be starting a new sales thread tonight. Mostly high grade Golden age pedigrees and one or two bronze age books. There'll be some Planet Comics, Clue comics, and a Giant Size X-men 1 in 9.2.
  5. I certainly agree with Adam. So, let's rank them. I don't live at the "top of the market", much more of a bottom feeder, but here are some of the ones I know about. Hopefully the deep pockets here will re-order and add to this list please 1. Action 1 - Church 2. Tec 27 - Allentown 3. Marvel 1 - Church 4. Flash 1 - Church 5. AA 16 - Church I agree w/ 4 out of 5, but am not sure the Flash 1 makes the list. (It sold for a lot less than the MH AA 16) I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think the MH AA 16 is worth more than the MH Marvel 1 too.
  6. I'd give away every book I own for that Action 1 6.5. But I'd still take the AA 16 9.4 over the Action 1, in a split second and without thinking twice. The Mile High AA 16 is too unique of a book to pass on, and is probably one of the 3 or 4 single most valuable comics in the hobby.
  7. Tec 1 vs Tec 31, its a close call but I'd have to go with the Tec 1. Tec 1 has always been a favorite of mine, and that particular copy has great eye appeal for the grade. (As opposed to that Tec 31 which has pretty weak eye appeal for a 5.0) Plus the Tec 1 is scarcer, and restoration has never bothered me. Both are really neat books though. The Superman 1 vs Cap 1, personally I'd rather have the Superman 1. But at the same price, the Cap 1 would be by far the better value. So I'd take the Cap 1. (Maybe sell it and buy the Superman 1 with some of the profit)
  8. Kudos to DoubleCovaBrotha for lighting fast payment for several books purchased as a result of the VCC. Thanks! (thumbs u
  9. Kudos to Squidmo2000 for payment for a FF 59 from the VCC (thumbs u
  10. I think I'd go with the More Fun because its a 9.2. But it would be a really tough call.
  11. Thanks!!! From what I heard in San Diego, there was actually a little mini-find of this book a while back so it wouldn't surprise me if a few more high grade copies show up on the census at some point as well. But as you mentioned its very hard to find one that is actually for sale! (Probably a combination of being so undervalued in guide and having such a neat cover.) I wasn't planning to buy anything expensive in San Diego but I've wanted a copy of this comic for a while, this copy looks great, and the price was right. So I couldn't pass it up. Now I have to figure out what to sell to make room for it in my collection!
  12. Here was my only major purchase at the SDCC a few weeks ago.
  13. The 4.0 is qualified because of a coupon missing on the centerfold. The Sup 2 is a universal 7.0. I'll have all the books with me at San Diego if anyone here is going.
  14. Tough to say what the market value is. I think there's only two that exist. And one of the owners is supposedly never going to sell his. So since this one is the only copy that will likely be for sale in our lifetimes, I'd say the consignor and future buyer will set the market value.
  15. I thought I'd take a few group shots as I'm getting books ready for San Diego. (Just got a couple of these on consignment this morning) First up is a Superman groupshot
  16. Couldn't get it to work Does anyone with computer smarts know how to resize this image to 310 pixels wide by 90 pixels tall without making the books change shape?
  17. This one is pretty random. Its going to be my new eBay store logo. (I'm thinking of changing it every month, using comics I have for sale)
  18. Tough choice! If given the option, I'd buy either of those books at that price. But knowing how nice that 'Tec 27 eventually restored... I'd have to go with the 'Tec 27.
  19. Selling some GA keys and #1 issues on the Forums tonight http://boards.collectors-society.com/sho...e=0#Post1855066
  20. NICE book!!! Does this mean you have an undercopy for sale?
  21. Sorry about that! Next time I'll wait to see what you have to say first.. to make sure I don't wind up copying you Very, Very nice book by the way!!!
  22. Hmm... in retrospect I should probably rephrase my last comment. The #5 is my favorite cover of all the books I currently own. I think my personal favorites of all the books in the entire Planet run are #s 2, 4, and 5.
  23. Haha either way sounds good. Some days I think about downsizing my planet collection since I likely won't ever be able to afford the entire run, and using the money to buy some other books on my want list. Other days I find myself browsing the internet to find new Planets to add to my collection. I'd be interested in buying if you have any for sale. Or selling you some of mine if you are interested. Or trading some of mine for some of the books in your collection. The only one I don't think I'll ever sell is the #5. Thats probably my favorite cover in the entire run.
