  1. Then if his account is still active, I shall contact him and let him know.
  2. So if it's only Probie worthy, and there is no possible way to complete the transaction, why not HOS? holyghost is on the probation list in a disturbingly fast manner. Have you PMd him, as I posted, to tell him this has been brought up here and he can present his side? There is no point considering he is no longer a member. I checked the user list and he is not listed. Besides, if I really wanted to contact him I would have CALLED him. I have his cell #.
  3. Probie for life. Whomever can add Andy Richardson aka holyghost to the list, please do so with my most sincere blessing
  4. Brad, my question here is why didn't you just do the deal right there. I know from my own experience when you leave stuff there its usually gone the next day. I would have been more than happy to go along with you if you were worried about a problem. Don't ever hesitate to get ahold of me. Hope everything works out. DR.X To be honest Tim, I just didn't feel very comfortable with carrying that kind of money around with me. I would have been happy to come with. I could have even brought along one of the cops I train. I remember this tool. He was selling an AF#15, Hulk #1 and a few other keys. He was selling them on CL here in the Chicago area too. (The first place you look to find a nice AF#15, right?) He sent me some pics and the AF#15 looked trimmed. I told him so but still offered to meet anyway to look at his books. I wrote him both on here and in Emails. No reply..... I have seen a picture of you. Nobody's gonna give you any problems. Who Matt? Christ , if someone gives him a problem he'd better be armed and driving a tank! Matt and I met a couple of years ago at a small local show and I gotta say, yup I woulda felt safe with six figures in my pocket no doubt (thumbs u . I would just like to say that although I don't post much, and am relatively unknown next to most veteran boardmembers, thank you to everyone for their input and support. it definately dulls the sting my asszz is feelin right now

  6. He said the purchaser didn't GIVE a name. Funny, right?
  7. Last week I believe. I just checked the user list, looks like he pulled his own account.
  8. I met met him and his partner at his partners house. And yes, I did hold the books, along with many others which I passed on. I asked if they were available to view and I was told that these books, along with the books I passed on were for sale.
  9. How the fcuhkk is this not a board transaction!?!?!?
  10. So if it's only Probie worthy, and there is no possible way to complete the transaction, why not HOS? HOS is for multiple cases of bad transactions. Unless others have had problems with this member as well. I didn't check the probation list. He is a new member. He has not made any sales on the boards. Buy hey, if anyone wants to TRY and do a deal with this person........ BE. MY. GUEST.

  12. Member to be voted into the Hall of Shame: HOLYGHOST Details: after contacting him via PM pertaining to books he was looking to move, we set up a time to view comics he had for sale. Upon meeting up with him and his partner yesterday, My partner and i struck a deal to purchase 4 figures worth of books. Hands were shaken, hugs were given and both parties were happy. My cash for their comics were scheduled to trade hands tomorrow afternoon. I call an hour ago to set up a time and Andy(HOLYGHOST) tells me the books have been SOLD. Yup, right out from under me. Supposedly, a person from FLA offered and purchased said books this afternoon, 9 total, for over 2x what we agreed upon. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I sincerely doubt this can be rectified. Nuff said...... Discuss
  13. Who do I contact about adding a member to the Hall of Shame!?!?
  14. Yeah, no kiddin. Even the obscurely listed air boy 5 was gone. Only 3 books I wanted in the whole vcc and poof, gone instantly
  15. Knowing me, I'd probably eat the crumbs
  16. According to Mike's study there was no change in the pH level of the E. Gerber boards at all. Therefore, either Mike's data is incorrect, or the E. Gerber board does not absorb any acid even after 2 years of use. One of the industry professionals that we have contacted is a representative of E. Gerber. It was this representative who stated that E. Gerber full-backs and half-backs are made of Archival Mat Board. Further, the representative stated that E. Gerber makes no claim that their full-backs or half-backs will absorb the residual acid that migrates from the pages of a comic book. The only claim that they make is that it will not contribute to the deterioration of a comic book. Wood pulp is naturally acidic but can be buffered with calcium carbonate to temporarily shift the pH balance to alkaline. However, it will return to being acidic and start to harm the your comic book in about five years. No matter how free of acid a paper or board may be immediately after its manufacture, over time the presence of residual chlorine from bleaching, aluminum sulfate from sizing, and pollutants in the atmosphere may lead to the formation of acid unless the paper or board has been buffered with an alkaline substance. As noted in Mike's study, both the E. Gerber and BCW boards have a 3% buffer of calcium carbonate. Also noted in Mike's study is the fact that the 3% buffer of calcium carbonate is distributed throughout the board in the E. Gerber product, whereas the 3% buffer of calcium carbonate is concentrated in the form of a coating on the BCW product. Given that both products are made from wood pulp, how does the E. Gerber product absorb so much more residual acid that the change in the pH level is undetectable after 2 years of use? Perhaps the statement by both E. Gerber and BCW that the E. Gerber board doesn't absorb any residual acid is technically incorrect. However, based on Mike's data, one could deduce that so little of the 3% buffer of calcium carbonate is in contact with the comic book that the change in the pH level of the surface of the E. Gerber board is virtually undetectable. Please keep in mind that, as previously stated, we all have a common goal; to determine, beyond any reasonable doubt, the facts regarding the use of solid bleached sulfate for comic backing boards. It is not our intention to mislead our customers. We do not try to hide the fact that the board is solid bleached sulfate which is not suitable for long term storage of your comic books. This is why we recommend that you change your bags and boards every 3 to 5 years. Hello. Would you be so kind as to give us your name sir?
  17. Just picked up a very nice collection of DC war yesterday. Gi combat 200-240(9.2-9.8, lots of 9.8's!), WW tales 48-117(9.0-9.8, lots of 9.8's including #64!) ooaw 209-240(5.0-9.6) off 121-181(7.0-9.8). After sorting through all of them, it looks like 60-70 of these will be making their way to Sarasota really soon. Most of the wwt and gic's look unread!
  18. I've known about this book for a while now. I picked up a run of 1-8 around 3 years ago. Grades are 9.4+. nice grab on a super tough series (thumbs u
