  1. My son just bought this Smash #10. I'm sort of surprised it wasn't listed as an Iron Man prototype (snark). He also bought a #4 because he thought it would be cool to have something/anything from the 30's.
  2. There's a copy of that exact issue in 4.0 on eBay now for $1500. I agree with pass though, water damage is my number one indicator for "run away".
  3. Pay for grades, nothing else. It cuts at CGC's credibility and reputation, and frankly makes them looks stupid and desperate. Not to mention impartiality is right out the window, joke or not. Those pointing to the hypocrisy of some of the Promise grades are correct, this is a serious strike two against a company we are supposed to be able to trust. It doesn't make me angry, only disappointed but not too surprised. Sigh.
  4. x2 on the Schomburg WW2 cover, you just can't go wrong with those regardless of title. The good news is it's doable, and there's probably a few folks around here that may be able to help.
  5. You missed one, it's in the MCS auction starting Monday.
  6. Came yesterday. Replacing some of the beat up copies in the SA Sub-Mariner set.
  7. I feel the same way about this one. Had to do some SERIOUS value shifting within the collection to get it, but it was totally worth it. Congratulations, that's a fantastic pickup!
  8. I couldn't find a custom labels thread, so here you go. Here's a few of ours, let's see what you lot have!
  9. I rather like this one too, even though it's not a custom label.
  10. A little bit of a label mismatch, but I like it!
  11. We have only two white pagers from back in the day. The TTA 4 is a somewhat distant #3, and not really from the golden age.
  12. Which would make this one the third oldest white pager in the box.
  13. So uh... not to stir the gravy pot or anything... but why is Mister Fantastic tied up on the cover of Fantastic Four #1? Did the monster do it? Did the Mole Man sneak up on him while he wasn't looking? Theories anyone? Just trying to understand.
  14. Don't think so. The graders notes for the purple label said "small amount CT, bottom left cover" so I think that was it.
  15. Same book, before and after CT removal. Sometimes you just get lucky!
  16. The CT was an attempt to hide the bottom left corner fold. The removal is most noticeable on the bottom of The Thing's left leg.
