  1. Seems to me that #14 was the point where price dies, other than issue #44 and variants.
  2. Saul says Walking Dead isn't the only show left on AMC.
  3. Bold new direction for the book was pretty much the announcement. New era in the title. It's not a bad thing to me. It's going to be more of a family/slice of life based intergalactic than just a Superfighting Superheroes book. It's been edging that way since Conquest though. We haven't really seen a big fighting arc end in an actual fight in quite some time.
  4. I'm the guy who does the Official Facebook page for Invincible. I'm pretty sure there was an announcement without searching, but if not, I'm pretty official. I run Ottley's table at conventions I go to.
  5. There will be issues to fit what new readers expect, and what old will. The 121 cover has been done for long enough that I had forgotten what it was when I posted earlier today. (#Humblebrag, RIP Harris) I'm excited for everything. I personally think Ottley should be insanely more popular than he is, and know he is very popular. I was extremely worried going in to 118 with a new tone and how it would go down from summaries I got before I saw the printed pages, but then I saw it. I think it delivered extremely well. The Mark and Eve scene was awesome to me. It could have easily hit the standard trope and had Eve get angry at Mark, but like the book always does it handled it in the unexpected manner. And if you just want some violence gore porn, well look at the cover of #120. That issue should hit that want and hard.
  6. This is from Ryan on an old image boards post. Ryan Ottley explained that... Quote Capuga is close. It is a 40/30/30 ownership. That's how we split merch and options and such, the comics themselves are split 50/50 who ever is working on them. So for a hard cover that Robert and I worked on we split 50/50. If Cory has a 2 issue run in there then he gets a percentage of the HC for those issues he did. We don't get paid when others use each others characters. The created by at the beginning of each book pertains to the title, not every character in the book. SO if there was ever a battle beast mini it would only say created by Kirkman and Ottley. Or like Guarding the Globe, since I created some of those characters too, it has our 3 names. So it mainly has to do with titles. Yes I've created plenty FOR Invincible, but I didn't create Invincible himself, so my name is not there. Ryan
  7. I thought I was in the Invincible thread. You said you needed TV or movies for sales now a days. Saga is one of the highest selling books with no TV or movie hype.
  8. Kirkman (40%), Walker (30%) and Ottley (30%) are each owners of the Invincible property. Cory still does some of the designs for the books. Last thing I am positive he designed was the new look for Robot. (Edited to have the exact numbers correctly posted)
  9. That's what I'm thinking. Exactly how many more issues need to be sold to make whomever happy each month? Also, props on the 9.8, she's a beauty! Look at it as a business. If you had a property and you saw the market adapting to certain trends, why not take a chance to grow your business as opposed to being stagnant. It's not that they don't currently make anyone unhappy, it's just that any business goals should be for growth. There is an artistic side as well as a business side. Look at it as diversification - as I said before, let Walking Dead rake in the big bucks while it is enjoying it's day in the sun. What is wrong with pursuing Invincible as a passion project? Even so, it certainly still has more than enough readers to be turning a tidy profit. Does everything have to have every last bit of potential profit squeezed out of it? It is similar to saying every movie has to be Avatar. That sort of entertainment is fun, but I also like to sit down and watch Clerks or Reservoir Dogs every now and then as well. Robert Kirkman is the person getting the Walking Dead money. Two other people own Invincible. It's not just a passion project for them.

  11. I promise, if an Invincible show/cartoon/movie/whatever was announced today, sales would blow up just like TWD. That's what all the cool kids are doing these days, comics just aren't enough anymore. There is zero TV/Movie/Anything talk for Saga.
  12. Zero worry that it will be cancelled, but why not try something new to get more people reading?
  13. The connection to TWD show is that as Walking Dead tripled in monthly comic sales since the show launched Invincible stayed the same, if not a slight dip. The Kirkman brand has grown exponentially but Invincible hasn't caught on beyond the die hard fans that it has always had for some reason. 118 and 119 are a taste of the new direction. 120 will be back to the Thragg/Beast fight. We will have to see who is still on board or who jumped on board after 121.
  14. The point of it being cheap is so that stores can carry it. I'd hope it didn't sell out in a day at that price since that means stores under ordered.
  15. I guess. It seems you'd wanna make the jumping on point the best issue yet. Do you think the new tone will attract readers or lose them? Of course you'll say attract readers, but, man, I don't know. I hope it stays strong while Kirkman focuses on Outcast. They have a plan in place that was formulated by looking at what is selling at Image the most at this point. People are buying more slice of life, funny, quirky books than just bombastic Super Hero fights. It's been 5 years that Walking Dead has been out and it's never helped Invincible's sales at all. Making a change and taking a chance with a new outlook is worth a try. With sales at the same amount as they were pre Walking Dead TV Show, a change probably isn't costing a large number of readers and can only really help.
  16. This was more slice of life, Saga-esque toned. This will be the norm for the book for the near future, so it does fit for a jumping on point because the book is really taking a different turn starting with this issue.
  17. #119 and #120 would already be ordered I believe, but guess reorders could be increased.
  18. #118 tomorrow!!! Hopefully this brings some new people on board!!
  19. I'd wager this season ends with No Way Out, and then next season covers the "A Larger World" Arc with either the season or mid-season finale being Negan next season.
  20. 2nd & 3rd have been commanding a premium for awhile now. 1st prints are actually starting at $20 on the Bay now which is a first. I can already see what will happen when this season ends if Negan makes an appearance... Why would Negan appear this season, or even next? Have you ever figured out what issue in the comic are they on in relation to the show? They stick pretty close in terms of time structure while the story may not be the same. They will be very close by the end of this season. They are roughly in the 80's in the comic. What happens when they catch up with the comic? The comic should put another 40+ issues out before the show could possibly catch up. It's currently 50+ issues at least ahead of the TV show storyline. I don't think they have to worry about that for quite sometime.
  21. Census numbers are low because it's in, I believe, the 3 lowest printed covers for Invincible. That, Invincible #100 wraparound B&W, and Invincible Returns B&W are I believe the 3 lowest print runs then probably the Comixology 100 and Comics Pro 52. Oh yeah, and 118 went to the printers 4 days ago......
  22. The Valentino cover or anything from the first 6 pages of Invincible #1 since those were published first.
  23. Doesn't Spider-Man sell like 3 times the licensed merchandise of anyone in comics? http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/superhero-earns-13-billion-a-748281
