I had to miss out last year so I'm looking forward to this one.

No, but then I don't know how they stay in business either. Although with the amount of retail closing across malls, I imagine leasing must be getting better.

The threads you miss when you've been away.
Sadly you can judge PGX like a raw by front and back page only. Once it's out of the case their opinion no longer matters. Their standards by my recollection have a lot to do with eye appeal and not strict docking for various flaws by quantity or size as CGC strictly states.

This post is getting good

Here's my quandary. I set up at local shows, and there's a guy who travels all around to various cons as a buyer. I always had the idea that he was a reseller, which is fine by me. I have a price on my books and if you think you can make a profit on it, I have no problem selling to you. However...
I am a member of various Facebook groups where people sell comics, and I noticed that he sells there. The only reason I was able to connect the dots was when he put up three things that I sold the at a show the previous day, all of which were odd enough that it had to be him. While some of his sales on Facebook are a straight price for comics, about half of them are raffles. He will sell 10 or 15 or 20 spots for a specific price and then have an automatic number generator pick a winner. He ends up collecting around twice the value of the book from these poor suckers who are trying to win.
For example, he had a New Teen Titans #44 CGC 9.4, selling 15 spots at $10 each. He gets $150 (minus Paypal fees). You can find this same book on eBay for about $75.
Now, I'm not going to tell someone that they're being idiotic in trying to win these comics (even though it's obviously not worth it), and I'm not even going to tell this guy to stop doing it (even though it's against eBay's policy). But I do want to tell him that I'm not going to sell him my stuff. Am I being overly sensitive? Should I just not care? He's not buying anything that I couldn't sell to another person.
You don't need any reason to refuse to sell to any customer. The fact that you don't want to based on ethical reasons is admirable. I wish more people and businesses had that attitude. I don't think you are wrong to refuse his business.

Although not a fan of the agreement per se, it appears the change from $20 to $150 for online shopping should help cross-border shopping for both sellers and buyers in USA/Canada.
Target date of Dec 1, 2018. It should help my comic shopping habits.

Has to be Romita Sr. I can see he's in the lead.
McFarlane had a good take on the character.
I would probably pick Ramos 2nd and then Romita Jr, but honestly after this series I didn't care much for Jr's work anywhere else.

One of my favourite Batman artists of all time. He was doing Detective in the era where Batman just took off around the first dark Batman movie in 1989. His work captured the action I would have expected from a fighting Batman.

Rising shipping prices and auction fees are slowing me down.

I've been spoiled by folks like Jim Payette, Bob Storms, and Dave Reynolds …. so I'm a little picky. I've mainly bought lots, with there usually being a few pleasant surprises. The few times I bought single books, they were either accurate or off by .5 ...GOD BLESS....

Could be explained here by Don McLean-
And while the King(pin) was looking down
The jester stole his thorny crown
The courtroom was adjourned
No verdict was returnedWhich proves in fact it was the Jester who is wearing a DD mask with a 2nd Jester mask on top. At least that's how I read it.
DD was trying to give the Jester a break in this issue if I recall by pretending to be him.

Thanks for your detailed reply.

I plan in coming in to the city tomorrow.
Which are the best stores for picking 60/70/80 back issues and wall books?
Many thanks in advance.

I don't know about anyone else but the economy is sure kicking my rear.
Buying comics are an afterthought for me at this time.

You probably have the best answers from the experts already.
My observations:
If their is a CCA stamp on the cover, it won't be SA.
Also, if there is a physical size difference between two successive issues, the smaller one is BA.
Likewise, the UPC box disqualifies it as BA.

Really sad to hear news like this. I'm still hoping for a positive outcome.

Don't forget Slott leaving the Spider-man titles.
Unbelievable, they renumbered ASM again in Dec and started at 789?! I was only away for a few months.

My first introduction to him was when I was a boy, in the animated series “Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends” where he was the narrator. From then on, he was forever a staple for Spider-Man and Marvel for me. His voice and look was so distinct and friendly. Comics have changed so much. You wish they could continue as it was.
Anyone here met him for longer then a photo? What kind of person was he?
