Sin City for me
-
It would depend what is available at the time I had $5k to spend.
I would love a decent copy of DD7, ASM122/129, IHI 181, Batman 232. The first of one of these issues at the right price would be my target. Investment is a secondary motivation for me.

Settle down fellas.
I'd go all in with for a single high grade ASM or Batman book. I've never unhappy when I pick one of those up.

You're living my dream. Congratulations!
I'm guessing back issues don't make up most of your sales though . They used to be the big reason I came in to the stores.

If you are watching an item, the seller can send you an offer. Feature has been around for a while, but not all sellers do it.
I’m an avid watcher but have recently been getting them. Maybe it’s new to Canada. The thing is I get them on my phone and have to respond immediately. There’s no way to back and review the offer in eBay.

Anyone getting eBay notices to buy a particular item at 10-15% off from your watch list?

Disney's business model is comprised in large part by intellectual property and licensing characters.
I bet they are shocked at how well Marvel was for them as compared to Pixar's acquisition. Although both were good purchases on their part.

I'm digging this thread ❤

Printing flaws. Some printing flaws could knock down the grade like lines or creases. If something like this is common for the identical issue because of the inside ad, maybe there is no problem at all.

No, not really. I'm close on a couple of runs Ghost Rider, Spider-Woman. The next closest would be DD.
I realize I might never get there. I still keep collecting anyway.

Nice pickups. I gave all my money to the dealers. I had nothing left for the auctions. I am always eyeing HA but I haven't pulled the trigger in a long time.

Keep the book. Forget law school. JK. GLWTS. Nice copy.

As a Silver/Bronze collector, I would disagree. It's pretty much been a desert.
I saw a couple of stellar Batman 181s worth getting if you had enough coin.

If I purchased even one of the books in the thread, I think it would break me... and my wife would probably divorce me.

I don't think I have seen so many high priced high grade books on the boards like I have in the last couple of months.

Didga ever think you can go back to your childhood and relive it all over again, or realize the best you can do is collect something that can remind you of that sweet time?

Yes. I have just about been priced out of the hobby.
Seriously. I don't know where the boom happened all of a sudden. Are people converting their investment to books to ride out the incoming recession?

One of these days, I'm going to go in for a reasonably priced book on an auction, but I'm not having any luck lately.
