  1. Thanks for the input guys, will sort through what i'v got and send pm's or post links. Obviously if a UK collector wants the books then makes life easier with sorting post etc.

And your right handbags and shoes are exspensive but with what i'v paid for some books recently I can't really complain. I just show her the price on the cover and say I paid cover price! I'm sure she believes that :whatev:

  2. Great to get so many responses from everyone in the UK, surely this must be the best little corner of the boards. Just like popping down the local.

As there seems to be so many boardies online today thought I might ask a question. I'v had a few private chats with people about this but it'd be great to get a general view. Basically I just wanted to know about your experiences selling books on the boards as a uk based member. Do you get much success or do you think that the majority of US boardies buy from within the states because of postage rates etc? It seems that plenty of UK boardies buy from the states but then the conversion favours us. Basically I need to shift some books and was wondering wether just to use feebay. From the looks of feebay I'll prob lose out as cgc books of a certain grade don't sell for what thier worth if at all. I could be wrong.

    Any input would be appriaciated

I've sold slabs on here no problem, postage rates not an issue regarding those.

Raw books I had no success, except when I sold a bunch of dynamic forces to a boardie. If your going to sell Raws, make sure you have a good scanner (I do not), also depends on what your selling. If its GA/SA/BA stuff and your not sure of the grade, get an avg opinion from the PGM section. (thumbs u

What are the CGC books of certain grade your trying to sell?

Thanks for the advice. A large chunk of the books are ASM slabs. Got caught up buying a load as was planning to work on a run but i'v changed my mind and returned to my 1st love which are Avengers books. There's also some other bits and pieces, a low grade x-men #3, conon #1. Not completely sure exactly what goes and what I'll keep but if I ever want to buy another book then boxs need to start leaving the house not arriving! Ill be in deep trouble with her indoors otherwise!

  4. Received a few books from david20009, some of them are among the best 8.0's that I have seen in a long time.

The following is probably the best acquisition, solid 8.0 and a hard to find book in high grade:

Glad that your enjoying the books sent by David, I'm waiting for a big box of avengers slabs from his recent sale. Sounds like their going to fit nicely into my Avengers run. Can't wait for them to get here!

  5. These just came in this week, and I'm psyched!

    Peace,

    Chip

TOS are so cool, they look fantastic all laid out together. I have a couple and want more but Avengers books are priority at the mo. had a couple of nice ones come this morning but I don't have a large enough scanner to provide decent picks

  6. Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses re the TMNT color error issue. The offer unfortunately didn't include postage so it seems in terms of overall price it's prob a bit high. The 2nd offer from the bay actually came off the back of the copy that sold for $212. The seller has 2 copies and was offering to let the 2nd copy go. Think they are also going to list it anyway so if your after a copy could be worth wtching for.

  7. Hi, I'm fairly new to the boards and have recently been offered a TMNT color error edition signed buy Eastman graded 9.8. I actually bidded on the copy on eBay didn't win and now over a month later the seller has sent me through an offer $210. Do you think the book is worth the offer? And do you also think it will hold its value, speculatively of course. I'v got until tomorrow until offer expires. Any advice would be much appriaciated thanks

  8. gotta shout some good news, i won a ebay auction for pretty cheap on Iron Mans 120-260, it arrived today, the box had another box inside aswell as the comics i purchased, it said extra's, well i was expecting a few x force 1's or something, couldnt believe it when inside it was Iron Man 69 - 113 aswell, i sent a very big thank you to the seller.

i had to write this as the other half is away and just wanted to express my happyness

That is a great score and I imagine something that happens once in a lifetime on eBay. Like others have already commented why didn't they sell the lot separately (shrug)

  9. My CGC collection is currently 1 comic and it arrived this morning! Was very excited, it's a JIM #83 graded 4.0. I bought it from tortoise on the boards and couldn't be happier. Many more to come!

Wow! Tortoise already sold his JIM 83? doh! Nice book to start your CGC collection with.

That's a great book! Congrats! :applause:

Thanks Steve, it really is a great looking book and certainly a keeper for me

  10. Hi to all the new guys. :hi:

Already been getting to know Jamie (PsychoJ) via PM and he's a great guy to talk to.

The UK rules the CGC boards. :headbang:

Thanks Garry. For anybody new to the boards speak to Garry, he's been extremely welcoming and friendly and happy to help a new guy out. It's certainly helped make these boards feel that bit less daunting. (thumbs u

  11. WTTB's to 3 of you i believe, shame you lot wasnt around a month ago for LSCC, we had a good meet up, friendly lot in here, just be careful with Stryfe, he trys to give away X-Force 1's without a Deadpool card.

I was at the con. Had a great time. Got 3 books signed by stan and sent off to CGC. It's the reason why I'm now here buying more slabs and meeting new people. It's great

  12. First set of submissions from LSCC came back yesterday. Also my first ever Sig Series subs.

    Finally, DHP : Aliens signed by Simon Bisley ( Aliens + Bisley + 9.8 = :cloud9: )

Now I’m just waiting on the non fast track moderns and my economy fast tracks to come home.

Love the Bisley. That red sig is really nice.

Good to know comics are starting to come home from LSCC, iv got nothing on fast track so think I'll still be waiting a while. Great look book by the way
