  1. Better than yours? Have a serene new year, my friend – to all my board friends as well! (thumbs u
  2. Same here. Not much on Champions. It was quite odd, and without a clear direction, but in the last issues it was hitting its stride, with a John Byrne in state of grace providing dynamic storytelling.
  3. I see, but it‘s quite ridiculous…
  4. Nice! Did you come back to the USA for the Christmas festivities?
  5. Honestly, how do you grade and sell a raw book as a "9.9"? Without a cross-working panel of graders at best you could state you believe it’s close to the NM range, and that’s all! It’s not serious regardless…
  6. If only this beauty did not have a detached staple it would have been my keeper…
  7. I just started a mixed sale in the GA/SA/BA section. Mostly Marvels, but also occasional oddities, italian books and a little GA. (thumbs u http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8285246#Post8285246
  8. P.S. Loving both the Bulb Magic and Tupperware giveaways…
  9. Thank you… I like the drama of the expressions within the relaxed composition, and the great artwork. You can tell for sure it was serious… Ah and I like the horizontal format as well. Sometimes the artwork in the promo comics is not that great, and when it’s good it’s a welcome addition. I was pleasantly surprised to see the arwork was great on the Cardinal Mindszenty giveaway, considered it’s rather poor on "Is this tomorrow", for example.
  10. Great IM#55 but where’s the star stamp located?
  11. Oh well, it’s a good ol' devil probably… Wow, love it! the artwork on this one is beatiful! – more information?
  12. I find these kind of cover layouts incredibly beautiful… (I am also a big fan of that kind of period lettering for the "sense of wonder" is inspires…)
  13. Knock Knock Knock? Now this is a weird choice for a Christmas feature… Welcome back, BZ!
  14. Everything in your tag line, Brian. For starters! and Sagii, I know what you mean - it is laborious. On paper it seems manageable - one book or two a day, what's the big deal. In reality...mas tiemo. On the other hand, I'm tired of digging my promos by myself. My wife thinks they're faintly amusing, but certainly not worth the money. Or any money, to be exact. That leaves me with the sound of one hand clapping, or get off my azz. I know what you mean as well: I would have tons of interesting material to show (not here, in general). Italian stuff, but also the biggest portion of my comic books collection, but it really takes time to scan, organize and sort comics properly (although it pays in the end). As for this thread, I think I already posted it, but I do think my only giveaway is the Cardinal Mindszenty (which I have yet to read, by the way). Back cover:
  15. Thanks for the wishes, Roy! The mid-1960s are definitely the critical range, not so the ones past #70. And you may be surely right about the number of copies printed (but more about the marrying covers with books /stapling process). Maybe, being the equipment a lot less precise back then, it required some registration, and if they neglected it a bit… miswraps all the way.
  16. Not what I have heard so far. And not that it matters to me, given her poorness both artistically and morally speaking.
  17. This is just ugly. And has nothing to do with Yellowjacket.
  18. Baley was the artist (and also the writer?) on "The Face", a pretty original GA character.
  19. Thanks Thomas… it left me with very little energy (and low blood pressure). I am pretty much drained.
  20. That’s not a likely event to occur… this specific thread is a very amicable place to chat about whatever is related to the FFs, even miswraps and miscuts… After all, FF fans are about the most amicably people on the planet, aren’t they? P.S. I did not connect during Christmas as I have been having a bad flu, still recovering. Great to see all the usuals around, have a good continuation of Christmas season and a serene new year!
  21. But unfortunately it has less visibility. We should advertise it better…
  22. They are "printer's grabber tears" (I don’t know the exact term in english for them). A production related defect, and yours is not bad at all, so it won’t affect the grade. Maybe if it’s a 9.8+, but I think it’s not taken into account…
