  1. Not in this case, as from Peter’s comment it was GPA data not being updated.
  2. It is a delicate point, but insofar as the OP introduced GPA data it does open the door. Speaking for myself, I would have sent him a PM instead of posting in the thread. I agree with Robert – I think Peter did not mean to "threadcrap", he stated GPA wasn’t updated, but would have been better done so via PM. (thumbs u
  3. Don't worry, most of us know this to be true. Who are "most of us"? A league?
  4. Thanks I am a honest person and I'm trying to change my financial situation. So does that mean you want this journal to be about me getting the comics and seeing what they graded? so will you guys be able to know if I'm getting closer to my goal by what I post here? It has nothing to do with what WE want. It's your journal. Just consider exercising judgment and you'll be fine. As KPR said… And not sharing data is appropriate, not just because otherwise it’s "bad form", but even for the simple reason of preventing misunderstandings and wrong judgements. Keep the data for yourself, and just try to determine on your own which buying and selling decisions will be better, considering you are trying to do this as a commercial activity, and not for the sake of collecting in the first place.
  5. I agree. I like the idea of reading about how you go through the process, but in my business experience, disclosing your margins isn't appropriate. You may not see it now, but as you find success in your endeavors, I think you'll see that letting everyone know the inner-workings of your business might do more unseen harm than good. I tend to agree with Revat and the Doc. Besides this, they always give sound commercial advice. What is your aim: to keep track and have some kind of public feedback?
  6. I notice most of the books posted are from the print run without the small "print bubble" of ink in the black plate, which is on T’Challa’s chest belt. I seem to get this print run is also recognizable because the magenta plate is working more. If you compare the color of the Thing on mine, and on KPR, you’ll see what I mean.
  7. I am not "too nice", I really don’t know where you guys got that notion… I did not know he did not send out paid books. You’ll agree that not sending purchased books is something different than forgetting to get back and complete an agreed-upon purchase, and I don’t know how much and whether these things happened before, so i just asked.
  8. It’s actually a FN/FN+ at best. Has that bottom right corner crease, that overhang of the cover and some wear along the spine. Also an elephant shaped stamp on the back cover…
  9. It appears I did not post mine… here it is:
  10. How hard is it to reply to a pm? I didnt know he was on the list prior. I think he needs to stay on with and * this time. I just said he appears to have difficulties to do so, for whatever reason. This, of course is problematic for negotiating sales but from what I get there was no dishonesty, that’s all… Not sending books that have been paid for isnt dishonest? Sorry, I thought he just didn’t come back for books he claimed, I did not read the whole batch of recent messages. Anyway… yes, it could not be deliberately dishonest if one is experiencing problems, but of course he has to fix the problem as soon as he can, so I guess it’s appropriate to add him.

  12. Mostly Venom appears just to have difficulties in follow-up and adequate communication. I’d say when someone does not get back for quite a long time, it’s just fair to put books he might have purchased (but not paid) on sale again.
  13. Thanks, if it happen you remind some specific story you loved, I’d like to check them out. I am also fascinated by the Black Kinght stories produced by british authors, some of which I have reprinted in one of the Annuals. I am not a big fan of the TPBs, but the original ones might be worth checking: they look very nice. As far as the "new" Captain Britain I am missing just a few issues of The Mighty World of Marvel, but I haven’t updated my checklists.
  14. I am still surprised at how little attention many US collector have given, during time, to the UK magazines which presented original material. If the characters were never presented in the USA, it could be understandable to some degree, but we have a creative team (Claremont and Davis) which actually stemmed Excalibur straight out of Captain Britain v2 #14, and it’s in these stories that Betsy Braddock gets her full physionomy as a character, culminating in New Mutants #2. If you have some particular stories to suggest, I’d love to grab a few issues. I have most of the "new" costumed Captain Britain, but very little of the original one. Don’t say you’re biased: bias can be a good indicator of quality…
  15. Did you expect them to grade so high, with the books previously in hand? Very hard to find in grade, I have a high grade run of the Daredevils, and these have also the cover with the same paper stock… How are the early Captain Britain stories? Is there some particularly worth to read?
  16. I love this one, and was tempted to pick it once… I’d love to read the story! (thumbs u Happy reading; http://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=20750 Thanks – I know most of the material outside copyright is available, but if I can I love to read them on paper. Maybe one day…
  17. I am looking for a coverless copy of WDC&S #35… with quite nice PQ. I was delighted to get this one, but it has some coupons cut out from two (different) pages… I see Mycomicshop has an incomplete copy but the missing pages are not listed. If I was in the USA I would phone them… otherwise I feel they’d not reply via email.

  19. Paul Smith did not write it – or am I missing something?
  20. I agree, as we are not in the marketplace and selling them, that’s why I said "let’s see what the moderators think".
  21. Probably not… but let’s see what the moderators think.
  22. I do not consider the original Fawcett Captain Marvel and other characters part of the DC Universe (no matter what they did with the characters), and I have never read the Shazam stories. And honestly I am tired of speculating on things that do not interest me.
