  1. He bought 1 book. I bought 11 Sorry, I skipped that. I sympatize with you too… (But you should have asked pictures). Actually, his case is stronger as he only had the seller's grade to rely upon. The addition of pictures would have been additional information to base a purchase upon, however the seller's claim of grade is the preeminent piece of information that buyers use to make their decision. A pic is great but the grade of the person who has the book in front of them carries the most weight. If it's way off they've got to stand behind it. I agree, but I believe he should have asked pictures regardless. Now that it is relatively easy to take them, I would not buy without pictures, unless they are dollar books and I know the seller.

  3. So, what is the reason for not commenting when an offer is subpar? I would think it's because you don't want to be seen as "being negative" but I guess I've gotten it all wrong. What is your reason for not commenting when you don't think an offer is good? It’s obviously not: I tend to see mostly the negative all the time (in many situations) – it‘s a tendency I have, so I work against it. It also clearly depends on how you "don’t comment". I prefer to comment when I see an evolution to the situation, as it usually helps to judge with more balance. There are different ways of NOT commenting?? No, I did not explain myself clearly: there are differents attitudes, and obviously – as every other human behavior – an absence of comments can be misinterpreted.

  5. Roy is right: I usually just point out (especially if the seller admits not being sure of his grading) that he can submit books in the PGM, and some times the seller asked me privately an opinion on his grading. And I was merciless… But they took note, and adjusted the grades as better as they were able to do so.
  6. How do you interpret this? I am really not following you… and the reason for which you think not commenting is a "neutral" stance: it’s not.
  7. You have definitely an artistic quality to read things in people’s words when they are not there…
  8. Honestly, they were suitable offers (the two I mentioned). When an offer is lousy I usually don’t comment upon it, so you can have an idea from that…
  9. I quite agree with Johnny, especially on the first part. Wall Crawler's and the last offer were definitely good offers, so there should be some distinction between what does not get taken because it’s quite lousy and what does not get taken simply because it’s not the right moment (in a different moment I could have taken one of Wall Crawler's offers). BTW, I just received his first offer, and the books are great! Thanks pal! The improved Marvel Spotlight #32 is… compared to my previous VG copy.
  10. It depends on the issues. They are obviously scarcer, but less collected, so in general they go for less, but if an issue is an early key or particularly scarce it can be sought after as much as a US edition.
  11. A recent upgrade: despite its great looks this is a VG or so: it has a 1'' tear and a large crease on the back cover, and the bottom 1/2" has tanning all through the book, but for now I’m enough happy.
  12. And first Frightful Four, let’s not forget it in all the hype!
  13. That’s mostly because of the tape pull. Only way for me to have a nice copy at an affordable price. Here’s my #36, the only one under #40 I can "race" with your wonderful copies… I hope I haven’t posted it already – I don’t recall…
  14. I love this one – I used to have two copies, now just one left. Had a tough time to find one in nice shape (mine is a VG anyway), yours looks pretty gorgeous! (thumbs u
  15. @Dave: Thanks! @Bill: I did not notice the #40 was missing…
  16. It might be… I am familiar just with Four Favorites – I’d love to have the first appearance of the U.S. but he’s on Our Flag #1 and it’s a bit costly for my budget on these…
