  1. I was somehow convinced I bought Darkhawk #1 (or even the first issues) when it came out, but for some reason I probably did not, as I can’t find it in my collection. At the time I was bascially subscribing to a 90% of what Marvel was printing – I have all the early New Warriors, Sleepwalker et al. It is possible, however, that I gifted them together with the Quasars (I can’t find them either) and the Marvel Comics Presents to a friend of mine… I’d be curious to know why Boboset is so affectioned to it but yet says it was so-so and a "timecapsule" of the early 1990s. What do you mean by that? In the meantime, I am just waiting for the right occasion to send Jason (Comicalgems) this one as a gift…
  2. They are not mine, just found pictures from eBay.it. I never owned a single X-Force in my whole life (in any language)… No.
  3. Why would you want that, when you can have
  4. I did that on purpose.... Justin-1, Vaillant-0 Your next fruit from the tree will be rotten…
  5. Anyway, my point was there is no current offer up, so I thought it would be fine to talk while we wait for it, precisely to understand better what’s the general rule, which – aside of value – is not entirely clear to me yet.
  6. P.S. The above post way in reply to Harvey, Gunnz posted while I was typing.
  7. Strictly speaking, I wasn’t posting "possible offers", more trying to understand what might be of interest when one has to follow up a certain offer. Simply because if I pick, say, a 9.6 modern slab (not my case, but it’s an example) it might be unlikely that someone is interested in a GA book which is entirely unrelated to his collecting interests. And honestly I don’t think there is any confusion: the posts are clear, and we are still waiting for the last taker to post his new offer, so I can’t see a problem If there was an offer already there, I agree there might been have some confusion, but in this case really not… I am not the one which started this, and I think the rules are pretty strict compared to PIF, so I am just trying to figure out what you had in mind when you started it.
  8. It’s a very cool story, still undecided if I have to keep it or not. Technically it’s not strictly Kirby, as Jack and Simon were in service by the time, and the story is drawn in their style by Arturo Cazeneuve from the S&K studio, but it’s "official S&K" and I do love the Newsboy legion and the Guardian… A nice alternative as a follow-up to a cool offer could be this one, which I have as a duplicate… just checking if there might be someone interested as now I haven’t the time to pack stuff and go to the post office, but for some possible future offering…
  9. Then I guessed right: I can entirely understand, especially being in Italy, when I got my first Overstreets in the late 1980s most of these (not to mention the Golden Age!) seemed a distant dream impossible to own. Prices were already high, exchange rate was prohibitive, so I think when I got my very first early Marvel SA I was totally in awe. One was a Tales to Astonish, the other one a FF #22 I think. Also, you never knew what you will get: although dealers like Gary Dolgoff or Joseph Koch were very strict with grading, it was a true surprise to buy before seeing the actual book. This one (already shown), for example, is still a Gary Dolgoff book, with his amazing "FVF" grade which included everything between a FVF and a VF+…
  10. @29dukedog: he was referring to some twenty years ago, and thus the early 1990s, that’s why I asked. Plus, I am firmly convinced there is inherent quality, and this will always hold against things without content…
  11. I am wondering if someone could be interested in this book (just in case I see an offer which interests me) – it’s the only issue I have with the Guardian and the Newsboy legion and still unsure if I have to keep it as I can’t collect everything…
  12. Thanks everyone – I’d love to updgrade this myself as well, but for now I’m more than happy with this copy, it has even nice PQ, OW but of the better kind. I’ve seen the copy on eBay, remarkably nice if not for the chipping… Foxtrot, why do you say that twenty years ago it would have been appreciated by even more people? Because people were more conscious of what Marvel represented, or just because now they are all so easy to obtain that people lose focus in their collecting, or some other reason?
  13. My #13, just scanned – in about GD+ but I quite love it…
  14. David is a thoroughly honest, and super-professional guy. I bought a Captain America #111 from him at a great price, and he recently bought a Journey Into Mystery book I offered in a donation thread and paid instantly. (thumbs u
  15. Bought a few other cheap books from Ed (great bargains anyway) and love his professionality.
  16. Kav do you sit at home 24/7 and wait to post on here?? I'm actually just curious because all I see is your name everywhere!! Hey I barely posted today But yeah-all I do is sit at home, watch movies and check the forum... you need to write more DVD reviews I would look forward to Kav’s movie reviews and… no, his name is not everywhere, not at all.
  17. BTW, you don’t need the second pair of tags you added to the picture: just delete them and hit return before the image code.
  18. Well, that looks pretty gorgeous, and great price (probably he factored in the color touch?). I don’t have mine at hand, but here’s a spare copy I have with a Joe Sinnott signature on the cover, right below the Surfer (thanks to Dr. Balls):
  19. @Porcu: You just added an unnecessary pair of inverted tags: just a pair of tags, and the slash goes before the text in the closing tag, not in the opening one.
